Listening to the white stripes takes me back to a time when music didn't suck. There's a reason MTV doesn't play music videos anymore.
If you really think music sucks nowadays that just means that you've given up on it and don't actually try to look for good music. I don't understand your kind of people who are all about "the good old times" and never give time for the present and what it might offer to you.

You were talking about how good alternative rock used to be, then go ahead and list off a bunch of shitty pop artist. Those are completely different genres. Incredible bands like Billy Talent, Rise Against, Cage the Elephant and Linkin Park are still producing music today that kicks ass. There's nothing wrong with music nowadays, you're just searching in the wrong genre. There's always a speck of gold hidden within piles of shit.
What the hell are you talking about, when the fuck did I say "if it's popular means it's good", if anything I was trying to state the opposite back then music was good, and that's what made it popular. Music like this was the mainstream, I remember when I could turn on the radio or flip on the tv and listen white stripes, red hot chili peppers and gorillaz, it was every where.
I wasn't talking about "how good alternative rock used to be" I was talking about how good music was, I don't just listen to alternative rock, I like all kinds of genres from rap to classic rock to jazz. The reason I named a bunch of shitty pop artist, because that's all there is. There is no variety of genres.

This is my favorite band of all time, though in truth to really appreciate them, you have to watch their live shows. No set list, Jack's soloing, infinite energy from Meg...seriously check out under Blackpool Lights. It's incredible.

The White Stripes are my favorite band of all time, because they were just so simple, raw and deep at the same time. I love all of their songs, especially Forever for Her, Hotel Yorba, truth doesn't make a noise, a martyr for my love for you and i fought piranhas...
Truth Doesn't Make A Noise should've gotten an honorable mention at least.
300 Mph torrential outpour blues should be #1 or at least in the top 3. That song is Jack's best work as a songwriter. Also The Denial Twist, The Nurse, This Protector and A Martyr for my love for you should be somewhere on this list.
But apart from that, awesome list. The White Stripes are my most favourite band and I'm completely obsessed by them.

Yet after watching the video, i was a bit sad (quite the underestimate) to find that girl you have no faith in medicine was no where to be seen, not even in the honourable mentions.
I was curious about the omission of 'Conquest' as well.
definitely a top ten that I actually agree with for a change. based purely on opinion, I don't appreciate the exact ordering of the songs, but I note the attention to detail in mixing up songs from different albums, including even personal favorites of mine that weren't even singles. good job on this one, WatchMojo, you earned a like from me for this video. now you should do a top 10 Jack White songs (encompassing the White Stripes, the Raconteurs, and his solo career.) just an idea...

My favorite songs by the White Stripes (and Jack White in general) is Little Ghost and the James Bond theme with Alicia Keys. His song is so unique, and I think he's the only person of the Folk Rock genre that I really got into with more than one song.
The denial twist is my favourite song, I just love the "if you think that a..... is all in the..." parts! Get behind me satan was such a good and fun album !
And I really loved the other icky thump singles, rag and bone, conquest and you don't know what love is :D

Jaden Shattuck Ya, finally 2 years after many of us NIN fans pleaded for one after they kept making ones for inferior artists. Not saying Jack White is an inferior artist with less great songs than Trent Reznor... but it's true. I like the White Stripes, but no way do they come close to having as many great songs as Nine Inch Nails. Not even by a mile. It's like half a dozen versus 3 or 4 dozen. Trent Reznor still hasn't gotten the full respect and recognition that he deserves. Trent is a pioneer. Not trying to take anything from Jack, he is a talented musician, but I just think Trent has had perhaps one of the most epic rock star careers. Setting the bar higher each time he comes out with something new.
Be it giving it away for free like the Slip, or giving the rights away with a Creative Commons license so independent filmmakers can use all the tracks on this AND his 3 Ghosts albums that can be used in so many different ways by making your own adjustments. Releasing an albums track layout for audiophiles to mix and create their own new versions and upload to NIN.com. Or having a secret concert that is set in a dystopian future like he did with Year Zero and the fans that followed all the clues in an Alternate Reality Game created for the album, complete with fake websites. The fans get put on a bus and taken to an unknown location and down into the belly of a warehouse type building, get words of wisdom from a Samuel Jackson-esque political activist, then get a private show that gets stage raided!
Epic is the only way to describe all of that. He is our David Bowie, but sadly Americans only know Closer and Hurt out of 50+ great songs and compositions that he has written over the years.
