I had a horrid childhood as well as many people have.music literally saved my life more than once. I'm54 now and music had become very boring or I just lost the passion for it Jack White gave me back that passion back and his music helped me through very tough times and saved my life.Music is the only therapy that helps me.Thanks to Jack giving me back that passion!!! He is AMAZING!!!
the reason Jack is obsessed with the number 3 is because in his apolstery bisuness he saw a cabinet apolstered to a wall with 3 staples and he said it inspired him because 3 was the minimum, and he based most of his musical concepts on that form of minimalism.
Yes,except it was seeing that it only took three staples to hold a piece of apolstery to to a piece of furniture. That was his job for a few yrs & he liked doing it.
I have been lucky enough to meet Jack at Third Man Nashville & he is as real & down to Earth as he seems. THANK YOU JACK FOR KEEPING MUSIC REAL THE WORLD NEEDS YOU,MUSIC NEEDS YOU!!!!
A little less than 2 years ago I was watching an hour long interview with Jack White by Dan Rather on Mr. Rather's show 'The Big Interview'. I have always loved music, but hadn't listened to vinyl in 20+ years. I had a hand full of 7" singles stashed away and maybe 5 LPs. In the interview, Dan Rather asked Jack about his reputation for not liking technology. Jack responded thus (this isn't a direct quote, but as close as my memory allows), "I don't have a problem with technology. I think its incredible that you can watch a movie on your phone......but everyone knows if you want to _experience_ a movie, you go to the theater. To me, if you want to experience music, you listen to it on vinyl." Something in my head clicked and my first thought was, he is absolutely right. 700 LPs later, I'm a vinyl junkie. Thanks Jack.
I was lucky enough to see Jack White in concert in 2014 at Leeds First Direct Arena and it was (still is) one of the best nights of my life - the atmosphere was electric and he has an amazing on-stage presence. One of my heroes.
Hi, I'm around 10 - 15 years behind everyone else, something I think Jack White could relate too? Just at the start of 2016 I got into The Black Eye Peas. I sort of knew about Jack White from the Bond movie Quantum of Solace. Since recently rematching the movie I checked out the special features section, low and behold Jack White and Alicia Keys video. I thought Jack White looked exactly like Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhands -minus the scissors!! I wanted to know more about this man. Since learning a few things about him and his music, it's just beautiful and simplistic, makes it all the more emotional as it's not wrapped up in fancy lingo, or clever rhyming or fancy guitar work, it let one focus on what's important the words and emotions. I really like this man as a person, he obviously has never forgotten his roots, just like Will.I.Am does things for his community where he grew up. It's such an important thing to do - give back something so the next generation has something they too can pass along, it's what makes us human.
+Lin Joy for sure man, he's a really good artist and also as a person. He definitely does a lot creatively and I really like his out of the box ideas. He's definitely a strong influence in the vinyl movement.
Jack's Film Orchard Me too! 5 years down the track (unbelievably to me) I can now play the guitar, and a whole lot of white stripes songs! I even have a big muff pedal to sound more like him :) I didn't even know effects pedals existed. All thanks to JW :)
Really love your videos! You've taught me so much about analog music and I'm really excited to begin my own collection! Videos like this one really help me narrow down what records I should invest in. Thank you!
I love Jack White! No drugs! No profanity! Just EXCELLENT music. He continues to produce ingenious music because he never fried his brain like so many other brilliant musicians in his sphere. Serious crush here.
@@Thorum13 I'm sure she doesn't like him just because of that, we love him because he is focused on music only, he doesn't care about gaining fame by creating gossip. We love him because after so many years of being famous, he hasn't been absorbed by the business like most musicians do, he doesn't need anything to be cool, he just creates music, he is exactly what a real musician must be.
Jack White is a real American Artist that "Truly Values" Music as a raw form. His music reflects the passion of TRUE artists and expresses it to remind us to represent their Talent. Thank you for sharing history in your passionate way we can enjoy!
Always loved the White Stripes but never really knew just how creative Jack White really is. I bought the Lazaretto album on vinyl because it is a true work of art with everything about it (hologram, different sheens on either side, playing inwards and then outwards, two different intros on same song on side two, etc.). TRUE ART. Then really started to learn more and more about what he has done for music (his and others) and his creative art style and direction for all of his projects and I was blown away. He really is an extremely creative genius with a true vision of things. I love what he does and how it does it. Jack White is really great.
Jack White is amazing, I just love how much he has been so about bringing back vinyl and he did it with a vengeance. And the many innovations he and Third Man had came up to make listening to vinyl interesting, including the Lazaretto Ultra Album, so amazing, he truly is the King Of Vinyl!!! Great video Jarrett
What do I think of Jack White? He delivers in so many different ways! His looks: he’s cute, sexy. He can sing, dance, tell stories, interview, make records, write songs, act, ummmm, and the list just goes on and on. His songs are totally different from one another. He passed the Mensa level and is on a platform all his own. His ideas and creativity are light years ahead of the world…color and music combined. I’m sure I missed a few thousand billets I could add to his spectacularness, but you can research and find out for yourself. I’m legally deaf and earlier this year I got hearing aids that sync with my iPhone and I can actually talk to people on the phone. I can actually listen to music! So, to tell you I am making up for lost time in the last twenty years when my hearing started to abandon me would be a pretty accurate statement. I started listening to RUclips and discovered Jack White! Can you imagine. Well I actually saw Jimi Hendrix perform Purple Haze…Jimi has always been my favorite musician. But to be honest, I think Jack has taken that title away from him. Jack White fills my music world now. So that’s what I think…glad you asked.
when this video started, i was like, yeah yeah yeah i know that. this video is lame" then it got further in and i almost cried. thanks, bud. awesome video.
Just saw an interview with Jack White by Lars Ulrich. Lars was visibly shaken and intimidated. What kind of god-tier level of cool do you have to be to make the drummer of FREAKING METALLICA nervous? He is amazing...
I had no idea most of this stuff. Great Video. I shall endeavor to purchase his new record today, but I must find it at a brick-and-mortar store. Because there is no romance in a mouse click. Cheers
Mr. White's work with the Racontuers is fairly awesome. Many of the tunes have a very Beatlesque sound, (for those of us which are familiar with the entire Beatles catalogue). On another note, it is rumored that Mr. White's continued success after the dissolvement (sic) of the White Stripes is what led to Meg's mental breakdown and her exit from the public eye and music in general. She wasn't an amazing drummer like John Bonham or Keith Moon or Dave Grohl, but she was sufficiently adequate to propel the White Stripes into stardom. I liked Meg. Great video as usual.
I'm Not Chase He doesn't despise digital or anything. And obviously uses it a fair amount due to ease. But he holds and is passionate that vinyl is the most romantic form of listening to music
I laugh, cry, think, and experience passion exploring Mr. Whites work. That is the definition of art. Also a lifetime Catholic , I get his motivations. I am a career RN, and to enjoy the flip side of what I see at work , it's the beauty of Jack White in all his endeavors that take me to a wonderful place.
Legend says that if you say jenius three times and spin another three in front of a mirror with three blue candles, Jack White will appear out of the bathroom drain and personally yell at you about being so quiet...
Next time Jack white releases a new record I'll get it! Play all the three latest and then go to the 4th, Blunderbuss, lazaretto, acoustic records and then the new one. Just well why not. :)
I respect Jack White _sorry John Gillis_ for no other reason than his love of vinyl... Oh and his musics is pretty good too! Great vid as usual Jarrett!
must admit never been a massive jack white or white stripes fan but the recent space record plus all the facts in this video have made me want to dive deeper. well done!

Surprising he's so obsessed with the number 3 and he's only got 2 kids, and only married twice?
♡♡♡ Third times a charm Johnny... ;)
disideratum I thought he married Meg and then has been married to two others since then
YEEEESSSS HE CAN DO IIIIITTTT!
Can I love JW even more?? Yes. My heart melted a bit when I saw the part about him handing the cash to the kid in line.

Huge fan, His music is so real and void of the crap in today's blues/rock. Great songs to learn to play ,just like Hendrix and Clapton! Rock on Jack !
