I love that now I can throw a cheap long ruck plate from amazon into my regular EDC bag and have some support from the frame sheet and extra padding. I used a Grey Man tactical frame in my Classic Bullet for support but it always felt like it flopped around a bit. My current rucking usually involves pushing my kids in a stroller so having a Dad Bag with a rucking option is great for me. Velcro is a no go.

Of course, now GR is out of Field Pockets. If you have molle-backed pouch ideas, holler. Great review, liked side-by-side comparison. (P.S. if you want more advanced solutions for the handy - you - check out the Bullet mod videos by Pack Stuff! She’s very clever.
Hey JB, if you go and buy a 10 pack of Web Keepers from Mystery Ranch you take 8 of those you can lash a GR1 Field Pocket straight onto the GMT RMP and it will line up perfectly from side to side and it is just as solid of a mount as if you had used the MOLLE webbing. I just did this yesterday with mine and it works great and the Web Keepers are just the perfect length too. I also recommend taking some 180 grit sandpaper and knocking down the sharp edges of the RMP to save wear on the 210 fabric. GMT used to do this, but to save time they no longer knock down the edges.
My wife surprised me with this one! So, now I have the 33L LR and the 16L Bullet. Took it out yesterday to the farm with the fam, 3-Week old and 3 1/2 year old. Still felt a little small but it will be pefect for small edc days to nyc. Wish it had side molle, if I add that w/ side handles through scars just isn't a practical cost :(
My sentiments exactly, still no internal Molle and top quick access pocket for an EDC pack. Hopefully if there’re a lot of us clamoring for these add ons, maybe Scars will finally give in 🤭🤔 and accept above-mentioned customizations 🪡🧵on any Bullet or GR series 🎒. Or, 💭 they can always come out with a 4th iteration: The Heritage Bullet Ruck - Laptop with all the trimings / specs of the GR1 Heritage collection. That’d be so cool 😎. They can take my money 🤑💸 😂 . I really like my Kaidan Bullet V1.0 but a laptop compartment for a tablet or papers is just great. Now the new bullet looks like a baby GR1. But a top pocket would be real hot shit.
Haha, yeah a top pocket is conflicting for me. For the fitness modes like the Rucker version or even the all-arounder Classic I can see needing hydration. The Laptop version would be awesome with a top pocket...and side webbing.
I really want one, but I already have a Bullet 15, GR1 26, and LR Rucker (budget GR2). I think I’m going to buy a CT15 and CT21 for nearly the same price as just the Bullet 16. It would cost me only about $20-30 extra and I’ll get two bags to mess around with.
Hell yea! Ive been waiting for this video. Bought a RG 15L and then this dropped. I have the 16L MCB, but I’m holding until end of this month for a possible heritage 16L. If it doesn’t drop ill join the MCB army lol

New Bullet 16L with laptop looks interesting plus back panel looks nicer too. I guess now, will have to think on what works better as packable day pack - trusty Bullet 15 Classic or Bullet 16L with laptop with removed sheet for easier packing. Have you tried 5.11 Covert Small Insert ? It has Horizontal and vertical web MOLLE on both sides and it’s cheaper and hen Grey Man Tactical.
Without the frame sheet it will definitely be better but still have a few more layers of material with the laptop compartment....so it won't be exactly as transportable compared to the Classic. I haven't tried the Covrt yet but it looks promising!

Answers from Goruck: Side molle can be added to the sides of the 15 litre Bullet but not to the Bullet with the laptop compartment. Inside molle against the back of the Bullet is not offered at this time but it has been sent in for consideration for the future.
So I’ve hesitated to reply because I need to test it out. My gut says YES but the rigid frame sheet in the 16L might not make it easy to do. Let me test this out tonight or at the latest tomorrow

Agree...it's not cost effective. Wish them made them with the side molle.
You can also try to use something like HPG Tara Insert instead of Grey Man frame to mount Velcro pouches like shooter edition field pockets.

For a cheaper option to the plate just look for a Cocoon Grid-IT! I used one in my Dragonfly, super handy!

How comfortable is this to ruck with? Do you thinner straps make that much of a difference?
Depends on the weight. I just did an event with it using 20lbs and it’s just fine. Any heavier and you’d want the wider straps.
JB I’m 5’7”. I’m trying to decide on the 16L Laptop or the 4.0 20L Rucker. I’m 67 and hike a lot with a weighted vest.
Two very different bags. Depends on the max weight you plan to work up to. If it’s 30 lbs or more odd say Rucker.

Planning to do a plate test next week. I believe they’ll fit and with that thick frame sheet it should be good.
Everything except a 45lb will fit. Comfortable? Maybe. The shoulder straps are NOT as beefy as the Rucker.

Yes, is the easy answer. The Rucker plates will fit in the main compartment. The taller plates for GR1s fit inside the laptop compartment
