    I have decided to go for the Bullet DC 18 L over the CTB20 because one of the local EDC community member is letting go his for around $180. I already have the CTB26 so i would prefer to try other bag in the 20L range. According to JB Outside, the DC Bullet can fit up to 24L when its fully packed out. All good

    i have this pack and for EDC is great , two things one arm slinging the fabric is so slippery along with the short length it flips off my shoulder all the time. the straps are to short. I really wish they where longer.

      The 210d used in the bag certainly is more slick that 500d but I find it nice and easy to take on and off. A sternum strap helps me keep it secure when on body, though I’m rarely using only one shoulder.

    Man, the 18L Bullet 2 compartment is a damn beast and I'm pretty sure it fits more than 18L. I just put a Nikon Z8 with 400mm lens attached, a 24-120mm lens, an OM-1 with 90mm macro attached, a flash, diffuser, a change of clothes in a PD small packing cube, minimal tech and toiletries and kibble for my dog for 2 days. How the hell does all that fit in 18L?! I also have the Able Carry Daily Plus, which is 21L and I couldn't even dream of fitting all of this in it. Same with the PD Everyday Zip 20L.

      I have no idea! It’s wild how much that thing fits. I bought it thinking this will be a nice, well sized, EDC bag and it’s far more capable. Easily a travel companion and holds its shape really well, even when packed out. This one really surprised me.

    Great review brother! I still don’t know how I feel about the rip stop. I like as you said the malleability however I worry it can rip easy as it feels thin? It does probably add some function on the slash pocket providing a little more give. I would love to see this in EG ecopak!

      Thank you! That’s the truth, right? At this point we don’t have any long term durability experience so time will tell. I’m hoping the ‘ripstop’ will do as the name suggests but I am worried about punctures. I’ve been asked this a bunch so far, so I’ll do a long term review down the line.

      Thank you! This bag definitely blends the worlds of daily carry and travel, and does it well with how well it segments space. I think it’s be a good partner for the GR2, especially stashed in the front compartment.

    Btw, what do you think, is ripstop robic good?
    Is it worth it?

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  3 месяца назад +1

      I think that's subjective.
      What is your use-case? Are you going to use this for EDC? Is it just going in the car with you to work or on your commute? Are you trying to ruck in this? Are you participating in a GORUCK event with it?
      I love the lightweight aspect as I use it for daily carry and light travel. The robic is super easy to clean and sheds hair and dirt without issue. I'm not going to be able to tell you much else, as it's been used for ~6 months. Not quite long enough to know long term durability, but so far it has not disappointed in my use cases.

    • @MS-ge2jb
      @MS-ge2jb 3 месяца назад

      @@ECsEDC
      I found that the price of riptop material is much cheaper than others. If I'm not mistaken, this material is often used by cheap bags. Also, it is not uncommon for ripstop to be used only as the inner lining material for high-end bags. My other concern: is the material stiff enough to support the structure/shape of the bag.

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  2 месяца назад +1

      @@MS-ge2jb I can’t speak to pricing as I simply don’t know but I’d imagine it may be cheaper than 500d nylon not to mention waxed canvas.
      I did mention that the fabric is thin and malleable and you can see the outline of my notebook or iPad in that front pocket. The bag and fabric drapes nicely. It doesn’t feel like it’s floppy when it’s packed out. But if you want a stiff and rigid backpack that looks the same empty or full, maybe this isn’t the one for you.

    Yo, that stretchy material in the second compartment is kinda sus. What happens when it wears out? How are you supposed to fix that? The rest of the bag is made of tough materials, so why did they use that flimsy stuff there?

    • @ECsEDC
      @ECsEDC  Месяц назад

      That's a good call out. I always worry about the longevitiy of stretch materials such as elastic in water bottle pockets or in this case the interior mesh pocket.
      From my day-to-day, I rearely put larger things in there - mostly just small pouches or snacks. The extreme example of fitting a CAP2 is simple to demonstrate it's capabilities and doing that on a regular basis is a sure way to shorten it's 'stretch lifespan'.
      But regarding your commend on flimsy materials, i'd actually disagree. GR is not known for using 'flimsy' materials and if anything it's the opposite. I suspect they did RnD and testing and vetted this material before placing in their product. Ultimately time will tell, so we'll see!
