    Also try Periphery - Stranger Things
    Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy
    Jinjer - Just Another
    Corelia - Treetops
    Corelia - Glass Faces
    For something a bit different, listen to Envy on the Coast - The Gift of Paralysis

    Didn't think I'd hear Karnivool on this channel! Other great songs from them would be: Roquefort, Simple Boy, Goliath, New Day, All I Know, Eidolon. Doing some Rishloo would be great as well.

    Karnivool is one of my all time favorite bands, i have all their albums, i listen to them over and over and never get sick or tired of listening to them. every album is completely different in sound and production and message they are trying to convey. you should look up some of their live stuff on youtube they have some sick performances.

  • @jlog1c
    @jlog1c 6 лет назад +71

    My favorite band ever. This is a good song...but they have so much better, check out some other songs. Deadman, The Caudal Lure, or Umbra are good choices (These 3 are off their 2nd album 'Sound Awake')....There are some cool time signatures (Cote has some 15/16 in it which is pretty crazy) and poly-rythms etc. that sound pretty sick. I wish more people knew about them, people are so quick to write-them off because they are always compared to Tool.

    • @tdh7869
      @tdh7869 6 лет назад +8

      Change has to be my favorite song from them. Then again, they don't have a bad song.

    • @jlog1c
      @jlog1c 6 лет назад +7

      Change is great, too. Absolutely agree, there are some songs that are clearly not as good as others, but there is not a single song I would skip.

    • @PHEONIX_720
      @PHEONIX_720 6 лет назад +3

      Sky Machine

    • @tdh7869
      @tdh7869 6 лет назад +3

      PHEONIX 720 I agree. But, I think that their similarity/appreciation for Tool is what usually gets them written off so quickly. And that's a travesty, especially when the similarities aren't the focus of their music.

    Karnivool is a fantastic band that have released back-to-back-to-back AAA records, and yes, Ian Kenny has a fantastic voice. If you were into this, you should check out "The Constant" By Skyharbor. Dan Tompkins is one of the greatest living vocalists, and the song itself is exceptional.
    You could also check out something by Dead Letter Circus. "Alien" would be a good song to check out. They're another Australian band that tends to get grouped in with Karnivool, though trend toward a more upbeat, catchy sound in general (though not on "Alien").
    If you want something off-the-wall insane, check out The Dillinger Escape Plan. "Honeysuckle" or "Farewell Mona Lisa" are good bets.
    And for something very intricate and technical, but with strong melodic sensibilities and a singer with stratospheric vocal range, check out my personal favorite band, Protest The Hero. They tend to sound very different from record to record, but "C'est La Vie" is a good middle-ground representation.
    Oh, and if you want to really appreciate these fantastic songs (and whatever else you listen to), you should really invest in a better pair of headphones.

    Thanks man! So glad you enjoyed them! First off. This song is based on a girlfriend he was with. She was the.. Center Of The Earth to him. But she didnt feel the same. So he basically hung on to nothing. He says "Now i dont think youre like me now." Basically he understood finally she didnt feel the same. But he also constantly talks about how he holds on. I said before that theyre like Tool. And the same goes for lyrics. Theyre so full of meaning.
    I agree that theyre f*cking awesomr haha. Id love to see more. My second favorite is probably L1fel1ke and also Mauseum. But id love to see you react to anything else by them. So as long as theres more Karnivool, im here for it man!

      deadmanwalking it’s even worse for them because I’m pretty sure they’re independent which sucks because they don’t get promotional help from a label.

    Hes the lead singer of 2 major bands, both have 3-5 albums released each. The other band, Birds of Tokyo is alot more mainstream indie rock where the Vool has become alot more heavier, technical and with longer tracks from the Sound Awake album onwards.
    Kenny's vocals are even more amazing live
