    • @Airborne675

      The Reason why did the Germans sunk many American's ship and a Zimmerman telegram is because, The Sinking of Lusitania was The Cause that US Join the War. If Lusitania never Sank, I Think America will never join the War in 1917, and at Last Germany would take Paris in 1918 and win ww1.

    • @Airborne82576

      In this theory, The crew are able to close the watertight doors. June 5, 1914, EOI arrives in Liverpool with a list to starboard. She is out of service for months for repairs. By the time the repairs are done, World War I has started and EOI Becomes a merchant ship. After the war, she would be returned to Canadian pacific steamship company. In 1924, Empress of Britain is renamed SS Montroyal. EOI is renamed SS Quebec. She would be scrapped along with Empress of Britain in 1930.

      Remember that the Aquitania (1914) survived until 1950, the only 4-stacker that survived both WW1 and WW2.
      But then she was literally a rotten rust bucket - a piano felt through her deck. Not technically impossible, but too expensive to restore.

After the sinking of the Lusitania, us and German relations soured and Germany would stop torpedoing ships to prevent the us from joining the Great War. So if the rms Lusitania never sunk, Germany would still sink ships until (maybe) another ship that have Americans or was a American ship itself would be sunk that might bring the us into the Great War earlier.

    I think America would’ve entered the war anyway with the Zimmerman telegraph sent to Mexico from Germany offering to get back their land if they helped them win the war. Anti-German sentiment was already in America even before the Lusitania, and if it weren’t for her sinking, the Zimmerman not would’ve definitely been the tipping point to persuade America to enter World War I.

    • @Airborne82576
      @Airborne82576 9 месяцев назад

      the answer is no, the real reason why Germany sent a Zimmermann Telegram to Mexico is because ties between Germany and the US have deteriorated because of the Lusitania disaster.
      Yes that is true about Anti-German sentiment in US but it was "not populair", In the 19th century, the mass influx of German immigrants made them the largest group of Americans by ancestry. This wave of migration triggered nativist reactionary movements which were similar to those movements which exist in the contemporary Western world. These would eventually culminate in 1844 with the establishment of the American Party, which had an openly xenophobic stance. One of many incidents described in a 19th-century account included the blocking of a funeral procession in New York by a group who proceeded to hurl insults at the pallbearers. Incidents such as these led to more meetings of Germans who would eventually establish fraternal groups such as the Sons of Hermann in 1840, having been founded as a means to "improve and foster German customs and the spread of benevolence among Germans in the United States"

    Lusitania doesn't sink.
    Three outcomes:
    - Germany just sinks some other ship with Americans, simply delaying American declaration of war and making this alternate history a mere holm (a holm is an event in an alternate timeline which doesn't really change the course of its history).
    i. America would still participate in the war for some other reason aside from having a ship loaded with Americans sink to the bottom of the seas, such as a naval skirmish between their two navies or a commerce raid on an American convoy.
    - Germany takes a long time to sink another American-boarded ship, or at least a ship with a significant quantity of Americans, and wins the war because of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk which gives it a LOT of resources from the newly-carved territories of Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine, etc., making the blockade useless and allowing it to make France capitulate.

    Yeah, because america joined because an american people on board and lusitania sank because U-Boat (U-20) shoot the torpedo and hit lusitania and sank with american people that was why america joined the war.

    • @TheTrueAdept
      @TheTrueAdept 5 лет назад

      Nope, they joined because Britain was heavily controlling the narrative by that point, given that Britain basically cut off any and all German lines at that point. Men like Churchill and other high-level officers of the Admiralty PURPOSELY set up the situation so they can get the US into the conflict.

    The Lusitania would've been restored to passenger service, Cunard would not of gotten the vaterland or barengaria and the aquitania, Lusitania and Mauritania would've been Cunards trio of the 20s, I imagine like the Mauritania, the Lusitania would've been painted white in the 30s for cruising then eventually scrapped by the mid 30s with the Mauritania

  • @TheTrueAdept

    The Germans had reason to torpedo the Lusitania, as it was carrying war material which is against the Rules of War. The Rules of War state that you DO NOT use passengers as human shields for war material cargo (the Lusitania has been revealed to have a large shipment of war material on board), that you DO NOT arm your merchant marine with weapons that aren't bigger than the ship equivalent of a pop gun (Q-Ships), that you DO NOT use hospital ships to carry war material (from what I remember, the Britannic has been revealed to be hauling munitions from the failed Galipoli campaign), among other things (including that ALL COMBATANTS must be identifiable as such, no exceptions). In essence, Unrestricted Submarine Warfare is the LAWFUL thing to do during WW1 in such circumstances.
    Also, in 1915/1916, the British and French were literally BROKE. Without US capital, they couldn't keep the war going. It also didn't help that the French Army was constantly on the verge of mutiny back then as well.

      Aaron Neumann I understand, but do you really think that it’s good that hundreds of innocent people were killed?

    • @TheTrueAdept
      @TheTrueAdept 5 лет назад

      @@xavierlauzac5922 Problem, actions have consequences, and the fact that Britain was breaking a good portion of the Laws of War (which it penned with Germany no less!) regularly made the outcome inevitable. The Rules of War have the provision that if a combatant breaks one or more rules of the Rules of War, then the others are free to punish then in accordance to those rules. So in this case since the British were using RMS liners as war material freighters AND used the passengers as human shields, then the Germans are free to sink any and all British ships in response. This, in combination of rampant use of Q-ships, made Unrestricted Submarine Warfare lawful.
