Olympic was going to take the passengers from Carpathia but were warned not to go near Carpathia in fear of triggering passengers who just survived the sinking of Olympics identical twin. Imagine seeing an exact copy of the ship you nearly died on, appear! Smart decision
I have heard about that
I think a lot of people would start to feel VERY off.
It was Ismay who said no to Olympic picking them up from Carpathia
@@gretski47 Yes, Ismay wasn't the villain movies like to make him into.
yes. J Bruce Ismay didn't want The Olympic to rescue Titanic in fear that the identical ship would be a bad image for The White Star Line. In reality, Olympic was too far way to rescue Titanic
How would've Olympics crew react to the titanic splitting in 2? I'm assuming they would be shocked
Olympic would have screamed her bow off
How would they ever know?
@@rjcolombe They'd have an elevated viewpoint compared to those survivors in the water/lifeboats who saw the breakup, and Olympic's own lights would provide better illumination of Titanic once the sinking vessel's lights failed, making it clear that Titanic had broken up.
Titanic: SIS HELP I'M SINKING-
Oh actually nevermind... Carpathia is coming
Olympic: NO FOR YOUR SAKE I'M COMING
Titanic: DON'T-
Passengers: EXTREME SHOCK
@@A_MetalS-Official or scared clueless
I’m sure the Olympic would’ve ended up rescuing at least some of the survivors if it weren’t for Harold Thomas Cottam staying up a little later than usual and wearing his headphones while on no official duty, just in the process of getting ready for bed when he picked up the Titanic’s distress call.
In reality, the radio operators on Olympic did receive the distress call and did make for Titanic. They were turned away at 5:30 AM when someone said that having the survivors transfer to a near identical ship would be a bad idea.
@@michaelbujaki2462 Yes, and the Olympic made a really mad dash for the Titanic, but due to being about 505 miles away when it picked up the distress call, it was unable to get there in time and it was actually around 8:30 AM by which the Olympic was about 110 miles away when Carpathia Captain Arthur Henry Rostron turned them down since they had finished picking up the survivors and feared that a ship looking near-identical to the Titanic would give the survivors great anxiety. From there, the Olympic resumed her voyage to Southampton and yet had all of her parties and concerts canceled out of respect toward her sunken sister.
I really enjoyed this version of how the events of Titanic may have played out had Olympic been 442 miles closer to them.
Basically if Olympic and Carpathia had switched places.
@@davidknowles2491 my thoughts exacly this is very much a what if Olympic and Carpathia where switched in place. since Olympic is a much bigger and Faster ship than Carpathia she would have been more help to Titanic in her final moments. still think there would have been more like 500/600 deaths since a lot of people had already fallen to Hypertermia or drowning before the final death of Titanic
@@Lexiforlifeacm Biggest question is how would the surviving passengers react? Titanic has just sunk and the one ship that comes to help happens to be her sister ship.
Titanic Radioactive ☣️ ☣️☣️☢️☢️☢️☣️☣️☣️
@@davidknowles2491 well, what i think is most likely the titanic passengers riaction is first terrifide and shock, then the sence of calm and relife. After all, after carpathia picked up 700+ survivors, olympic offered to help, but carpathia refused bc they tought that passengers seing a identical ship that they board and just wacthed sunk would be more then a shock for the passengers
Mankinds efforts to change history are always interesting. This was one of the saddest.
This would have been the best case scenario if Olympic had left early to assist the Titanic
If she had left New York a few days earlier.
I always wonder what that would be like, what many Titanic enthusiasts don't know is that when Jack Philips (Titanic's Radio Operator) sent the Distress Call after the Titanic collided with the Iceberg, the First Vessel to Respond was the Olympic as the Titanic and Olympic were Vessels with the strongest Radios at the time, however Olympic was 800 kilometers from Titanic and due to the distance Olympic was only responsible for relaying information to all Vessels that could help.
But I do wonder what it would be like if the Olympic was closer and managed to reach the Titanic wreck site and had saved the passengers of its sister ship.
Brilliant video. A tribute to Olympic’s officers and crew who would have given anything to have been able to come to the aid of her stricken and doomed sister, Titanic.
This is close to what look into parallel universes would seems like. Amazing work.
In a parallel universe: "What if Olympic didn't save Titanic"
@@ErikAnkan73boring that’s just ours
@@ErikAnkan73in a parallel universe: “what if Olympic stopped titanic from sinking and saved the ship”
Olympic, in our time, tried like hell
Easy to imagine feeling uneasy if you just hanged on to the stern of titanic as she made the final plunge, you spent some time in the freezing water and get picked up on an identical deck to the one you almost just died on
That was some heartwrenching, hope-filling, hope dashing story telling. Extremely well done. There was no happy ending no matter how close a large ship was to the Titanic. There was going to be loss of life regardless. It was the sheer scale of it in peacetime that was so jarring to the senses.
wow... this was such a captivating story I think this was the first time in a while that amazed by a youtube video, great editing and great storytelling, I just love what ifs, they are just so thought provoking, you definitely outdid yourself with this one!
This was amazingly edited. The narration was good too, I liked it! Especially when both ships are visible, good editing there.
awesome video man keep up the good work!
Your Britannic and Titanic are my favourite ships :)
If only she could have come in time maybe it would be different
Honestly your work is amazing I've been watching you
Olympic: im here little sis!
Titanic: he....help....m.....me
Olympic: 😭
Olympic: sis don't leave me
Titanic: go......good.......bye
Titanic: *splits in half*
Olympic: nooooooo 😭😭😭😭

The comment was actually kinda strange and the emojis made it cringe LOL
RMMV Oceanic: Lusitania.. 😡
Rms Olympic's reaction to her sistership titanic is so sad and shes crying using her horn
Your thumbnail legit nearly tricked me into thinking this was an Oceanliner Designs video.
Same, it is the reason I clicked this video.
You did very well on this video!
4:32 Where can I find this pic? Looks so authentic!
In a night to remember it’s printed and says it may be a picture of titanic and Cherbourg but heavily retouched
OMG I play Stormworks, I knew those graphics came for that awesome game. Seriously tho great vid❤
I just visited to your channel. U are so underrated! New sub!
I enjoyed the video, but I saw something you could've mentioned. You could've also mentioned that with Olympic in view with all her lights on, everyone on Olympic as well as Titanic's passengers who survived would've saw Titanic break in two. Other than that, you did a great job on the video.
This was beautiful
I didn't know The Olympic was also on the way to rescue the Titanic like Carpathia sadly Carpathia came too late Titanic is gone and 1500 have died 😔.
They knew they were to far away on the Olympic so they continued there journey to New York
@@DiamondFireball Olympic did in fact turn back to assist. Olympic was only 100 miles away from Titanic's last position when the Carpathia radioed that all boats were accounted for and no further assistance was necessary. When Captain Haddock of Olympic offered to take on survivors, Captain Rostron of the Carpathia refused, believing asking passengers to board an identical ship to Titanic would simply cause distress. It was only at that point that Olympic continued to New York.
@@steampossum7905 oh! didn't know that
@@steampossum7905 Olympic was actually on her way to southHampton when she received her sister’s distress call. Out of all the ships to respond that night Olympic was the farthest at 500 miles away regardless she still came to try and help. When she was 100 miles from where titanic’s last known location was Carpathia’s captain Rostron informed Olympic’s captain Haddock that all the survivors were rescued. Olympic offered to take the survivors to New York and finish her sister’s journey however she was turned down due to fears of the survivors having panic attacks upon seeing her. After being turned down Olympic resume her course for southHampton however she did have a primary role she act as a relay station telling the world what happened to her sister
@@DiamondFireball Olympic was returning to England, I believe. I think the idea was that the sisters would travel opposite routes, so when Olympic was westboard to New York, Titanic would be eastbound returning to England. Of course, Titanic only made one trip, and by the time Britannic was finished, a war was going on, so it was only the case for this one voyage, one going, one returning.
If only Olympic is in the same distance of Carpathia
It would’ve probably made it there before the Titanic sank. It was capable of traveling much faster than the Carpathia.
@@DANIELLE_BREANNA_LACYbut the passengers would be even more traumatized looking at a ship the exact identical to the one that sank
Interesting what if.
yeah
How grim would it have been if in the course of Olympic racing to help Titanic, an iceberg caused damage similar to Titanic and both sank on April 15th, 1912.
That would be a huge blow for the White Star Line.
Financially and will affect its reputation.
SS Californian was a British Leyland Line steamship. She is thought to have been the only ship to see the Titanic, or at least her rockets, during the sinking,[2][3] but despite being the closest ship in the area, the crew took no action to assist.
This is a little bit pulled out of context. The crew of the SS Californian did in fact do nothing wrong. The Marconi operator going to bed after transmitting his last warning of the ice field was a normal thing to do and he had every right to do so. Keep in mind the Marconi wireless operators were not to be on full time duty at the time. It was just a new convenient way to chat between ships and stations such as Cape Race. But it was not required of them to be on alert 24/7. The crew of SS Californian did in fact see 'A SHIP' and thought it would 'PROBABLY' be Titanic. however since the rockets fired from the strucken ocean liner were not fired as regulations suggested, the crew simply thought it was some kind of a celebration to entertain passengers on a historic maiden voyage. And as they were not sure about Titanic being at danger or not, it would not make sense for the Californian to rush to the scene through an ice field risking sinking just to find out that Titanic had a fireworks party.
There is just no villains or people to blame in the Titanic tragedy. It's just a chain of very unfortunate events that lead to a tragedy never before seen or experienced by humanity at that point. Even one of Titanic's high ranking officers- Lightholler- said exactly this. It was a series of unfortunate events that lead to catastrophy. They couldn't do anything to prevent it and no human alone is to blame for it.
@@jprexthegeek5049 if they did nothing wrong then why did the captain loose his masters license. Perhaps as a scapegoat.
During the first hearings, which took place in America, one us senator when asking the captain of the California exclaimed " I don't care if it was the whole Spanish armada! Why didn't you investigate!?"
Fun fact: surviving White Star line crew were under house arrest in the US until their testimony could be heard, the White Star line didn't pay them for this time so they were dependent on charity to live on.
In one book on the Titanic I read, said the basis of modern maritime safety was born from the aftermath of this sinking. Including wireless operators were answerable to the captain ( not the Marconi Company ) wireless must be manned 24/7 with battery backup. Signal rocket use was restricted in their use. Ships must carry enough lifeboats for all souls onboard.
@@jprexthegeek5049 anyway, Californian would have never made it in time. Her engines were shut down and it would have taken at least an hour (most likely more) to get underway
I really love the newspaper details at 4:49, saying Virginian towed the Titanic in which some articles mistaken it in real life too..
I’ve checked out Olympic a few days ago and it crashed the game so now I’m starting Project Lusitania
Titanic passengers: its the flying dutchman!
i like how you used stormworks to make this
It took me a hot minuet to realize that the scenery is in Stormworks
id assume that realistically theyd have as many boats as possible going back and forth till her boat deck went under. itd be much safer than taking one round and letting the rest endure all the hazards of staying with the ship till her final plunge.
Interesting scenario.
+Icemonster360 nice movie
how can i add mission with my version of your Titanic?
nice use of stormworks
4:34 me be like "what, someone copyed and pasted this ship💀)
I was almost certain that Olympic was about 500 miles away from Titanic’s position. Carpathia was about 58 miles away.
This is the scenario that the Olympic left New York a day earlier that in Real Life.
how did you put both Olympic and titanic in the same mission? Did you copy paste titanic into an Olympic mission or vice versa?
Since I have the vehicle files of Titanic and Olympic I could just place them into the same mission
@@icemonster360 So I guess it would be impossible for me to do it then
@@icemonster360 Are you going to make the Big Four class?
The end result would have been the belief in a ship always being nearby to help sticking until the next great disaster.
There would have been more than 360 deaths. Everyone would’ve been screaming and they would have died within minutes
what makes you say that?
@@tophatgaming1873 just getting them onto the ship would be a hassle. How would they do it? By the time they would reach the titanic the gang way doors would probably be submerged. People would die
did u do the lusitania?
Something I wonder if titanic and the 1913 refit or britannic that night could she have survived I would love to see a what if video for that
actually even after Olympic refit she would not have survived a 5/6 compartment breach of her hull she would have stil sunk maybe a little slower but still sunk
@@Lexiforlifeacm maybe but she woulda have that inner skin from boiler room 6 to her engine room
Did you make this up if so, that’s impressive

Titanic passenger : really i dont wanna ride an older version of a weak ship that i thought was strong. Olympic is weaker.
whats this game? nice vid btw
i'm so imposivle happy!!!!😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😄😄
Love the Scots accent.
If titanic split olympic could have saved the strn and possibly detach the parts connected to the other part of the titanic
If I was a survivor of the Titanic's sinking, Then 5 hours later I see a ship that looks just like the one that sunk I'd probably be abit shook up,
Maybe alot shook up.
It would’ve been longer than 5 hours later. The Carpathia picked up the last of the Titanic’s survivors at about 8:30AM and the Olympic was about 110 miles away at that time.
Me 0.001 seconds into the vid: STORMWORKSSS
What if Carpathia arrived an hour before Titanic completely sank?
More people definitely would’ve been saved.
Jack and Rose would have made it count together.
If the survivors saw another copy of the titanic they would be horrified that it might sink any moment onboard the olympic
That game is storm works
This is called 'The good ending"
Did captain smith die?
Yes. Captain E.S believed that its his responsibilities to pay the consequences about the casualties. Despite having a family, He either shot himself, or wait till he drowns inside the bridge.
That would be great if that actually happened then so many people wouldn't have died
The context appeared 💀
If The Olympic Saved Me If I Were On Titanic I Would Be Terrified. I Wouldn't EVER Go On Something Nearly Identical Than The Titanic If I Were A Survivor.
Indeed..
So you’d prefer to die in the freezing water of the Atlantic than be saved
This would be really depressing for.olympic
You have a super pc , dont you? Mine lags with Juts titanic😂
I was playing a Roblox ship game and I was sailing Olympic when in the chat Titanic started sinking in cherbourg so I turned round and started heading back and saw Titanic just like in the video
If this happened, It would save RMS Olympic from scrap.
Maybe, because if that would happened the Titanic Disaster would be more famous that it would really been.
As the passengers was saved by Olympic in this scenario.
all was to blame was the designer. Titanic has all these gradious lights but NONE . NOT EVEN ONE . SPOT LIGHT OR HEADLIGHT to detect potential hazards along the way. Knowing that they are traveling on the ocean full of ICE BERGS
Wouldn't have helped. Titanic was under a mirage effect due to the cold water interacting with the hot air, creating a false horizon over the real one, blocking the view of the crew. Besides, lights weren't as powerful as they are now, there weren't any LEDs like we have now, all they would have is weak incandescent lights. And when you're in the ocean surrounded by kilometers and kilometers of darkness, your eyes adjust to the dark, having a spotlight would have given the lookouts tunnel vision.
Even with the best spotlight of the time it wouldn't have been much brighter than a modern car's headlight, and of very little use at sea.
The best way to see at sea at night is with the naked eye. Lights, binoculars, it's all been tested and not only does it not help it can make your vision worse.
Olympic's crew was dumb as hamburgers in the actual disaster, her wireless operators asking Jack Phillips if Titanic was going to meet them halfway, as if they didn't understand the severity of the Titanic's condition. Had Olympic arrived instead of the Carpathia and WAITED until the ship went down before saying people, there would be a lot more lives lost than 1,496 people because passengers would be wanting to get out of the water as soon as they hit it. Had the Californian made it, she would have had greater success at saving lives, because she could've made it in an hour, at most.

so Olympic is just gonna plow thru ice bergs, the exact reason Titanic is sinking, ok
The Carpathia did, but she had more lookouts than the Titanic, some using binoculars and some not so they could keep a much more careful watch for icebergs and with that, the Carpathia successfully dodged every iceberg in her path.
Heres a theory:1 of my friend that is a RUclipsr said to me a bro u know Titanic and i said yes and she said Olympic was actually the Titanic because olympic was badly damaged and they look the same so they changed names and the real Olympic sank and the company can claim insurance money
That theory has already been debunked. The Titanic and Olympic weren’t 100% identical and were only ever together for a maximum of 44 days which definitely isn’t enough time to completely change two large ships to disguise them as each other. This theory only came up because of the book Robin Gardiner wrote in the 1990s and if it was to have been true, everyone would’ve found out about it back in 1912 when the disaster happened the same way everyone always found out when war vessels were disguised during WWI.
There's so many what ifs, the important thing is that lessons have been learnt since Titanic sank 111 years ago and we are continuing to learn from the Titanic disaster. 🚢🪨🎆
