@@CreativeUsernameEh yeah. It's fromsoft, rest assured they will do the right thing. Especially if the reports of the dlc being the size of half the base game are true, then that would explain why the dlc is taking a long time. We'd all rather have an amazing dlc than some fast cash grab bullshit.
Me personally, I'll let them have all the time they need, I want the dlc to give the same kind of wonder as when you first play elden ring. Just that feeling of the grand scale of the game.
Look at it this way - the dlc is taking long so you just know it's gonna be juicy. If it was short and shallow it would've been released months ago. The fact it's still in production tells you it's gonna be big. I welcome it

I believe that you will be able to access Miquella's 'dream world' much like how the paintings in Dark Souls worked. They were separate universes within the universe itself and progression through them did not affect the main line story. This is exactly how it worked in the DLC expansion for Dark Souls 3.

You go back in time, meet father vicaris instead of amelia, whatever their names are, and the enemies we see around the map, we specifically call them "old hunters" bc we are technically the new and more modern hunters, right? I swear you go back in time, you go to the nightmare that brought your nightmare to life, right? Or something along the lines of exploring the past that lead to your present
I don’t think going to the badlands is likely for the DLC. That was a rumor that was based on a fake leak from before the official announcement that was quickly debunked. Given the fact that Miquella and Godwyn were basically absent as characters from the base game it will probably center around them, especially since the game flat out says that Miquella was trying to restore Godwyn’s soul/get him to die a proper death by harnessing the Eclipse at Castle Sol. There’s also the substantial amount of cut content that was initially planned for Miquella to consider, which revealed that they’re St. Trina and that they operate within the dream realm. It makes sense that they would want to put that cut content to use somehow, they probably planned on having a DLC and wanted to save it. I agree that the landscape of the DLC will probably not be in the lands between, but all signs point to it being in some sort of dream realm or the Helphen which is the afterlife outside of the Erdtree’s influence. It’s definitely Miquella shown in the teaser image and you can see a corrupted Erdtree in the background, but the landscape is completely different from anything we see in game so it’s likely an alternate dimension of some kind.

Hopefully it’s a dream and we get some characters and or enemy’s maybe levels from the bad lands and land of reeds.

This DLC is going to be like a whole new game on top of it. I can't wait to see all the new weapons and spells because I got burned out playing with everything that already exists.
I'll be disappointed if this DLC isn't absolutely HUGE. They made us wait two years.

It will be both part of the map and new maps if you can pay attention the base map of elden is in complete and certain areas are missing things

Considering how long elden ring took me to finish (visit all areas and bosses) itll be longer than 20hrs if its even half as big.

As soon as the DLC gets a release date, I'm probably going to do my 1st Fresh Start Re-playthrough.
I platinumed the game, but I did it all with the same characters(2 full playthroughs and a 3rd where I got roughly 10-15% through before the last trophy popped).
The only way I'll hold off is if they decide to also add in new content to the base game(which I hope they do, because that's how all expansions should be handled).
Also, even if the expansion isn't 50% the size of the base game, I'll be happy if it's at least as big as the biggest part of the underground sections(if not the size of the entire underground).
Highly recommend having multiple characters. The dlc will bring lots of fun things that you will not able to use unless you are maxed out. You also are gonna want somebody who isn’t in NG+. Also a low ish level for the dlc do you can be challenged.
@chriskotte8468 I'm personally not one of the hardcore Souls players who can/likes to play through a Souls game fresh a bunch times.
I'm also not looking for the greatest of challenges(beating Melania once was good enough for me, and I didn't go out of my way to fight pre patch Radahn)just a fun expedience with some challenges along the way.
So, with all that said, I'll probably just play the DLC with the character I make for my first fresh start.
Also, for all we know, the DLC will have its own, separate leveling system, so you can use whatever character you want(I doubt it, but that'd be nice).

Hopefully this game will have different DLCs based on how many outer gods is on lands between. Where we are with Ranni battling and adventuring on each outer gods' dimension. Since thats how it goes in Rannis/Age of Stars ending.
From what From have said this will be the only expansion for Elden Ring. They were going to release 2 DLC but decided to combine them together into this one expansion

I will be very disappointed if its only 20 hours. Elden ring took me 130 hours to beat. Dark Souls 3 dlc alone took me about 20 hours to beat. I am expecting 30 plus hours minimum with a full 2 years development. That said I play slow pace and explore every nook and cranny so maybe it will take me a lot longer than others.
I’m looking forward to the expansion and all but everything this dude is saying isnt backed by anything but speculation and is spreading false expectations. Like where the fuck are you getting “it’ll be over 50-60% of base Elden ring map.” Ain’t no way lmfao
