People don't realize what an Awesome!! and Astounding Performance, Brad Gillis pulled off, in this Concert!! Filling in The Shoes for Guitar Legend, The Great Randy Rhoads!!🔥🔥And he had to learn all these tracks within a week or so, and pull it off in front of Live audiences everywhere Ozzy Toured, right after Randy died!! Ozzy himself gave his stamp of approval for this man to attempt to fill in Randy's shoes, and He Passed with Flying Colors in My Book!! I remember seeing The Performance of Iron Man, on Heavy Metal Heroes, before Night Ranger ever got famous, and being, so impressed, that when I finally saw The Whole Speak of The Devil Concert live on MTV, I got Fired Up, and Blown Away!!! The whole band is Awesome Here!! Especially Gillis, for filling in the shoes he had to replace, and doing an Astounding Job!! As well as Bassist Rudy Sarzo, The Drummer Tommy Aldridge, and of course The Great, and Almighty Ozzy Osbourne!! With one of The Greatest Hall of Fame Voices of All Time!! This Concert Cooks!!🔥🔥🔥The Church of Ozzy!!👺👺Ozzy Rules!!🤟🤟🤟as Ozzy says C'mon!!! You've got to Believe in Yourself cuz No One will Believe in You!! Words to Live By!!!👍
Amazing line-up for sure. Brad Gillis knew everyone was going to be comparing him to Randy and he really outdid himself. Imagine the pressure he was under. But he was capable of playing what Randy did plus throw in his own licks here and there. I've always thought that he and Jake E Lee were really underrated. I saw Jake play with Ozzy (Bark at the Moon tour) and with Badlands. I've always thought both of those guys were *WAY* better than Zakk Wylde. Zakk is a great player, and he does a good job filling in for Dime, but I don't care for his style of playing on originals.
He rocked this gig!! One of the first Ozzy albums I ever heard in the form of an old recorded cassette that mysteriously appeared from I know not where.
You mean he actually washed himself? Nah, I think he probably would eat the bar of soap and then wash it down with some more Coors. Damn good sound though!
Sharon hired him , because he was easier .. for her to control than Lee Kerslake , who recorded drums on the albums . Tommy is good no doubt but he's still playing Kerslake's parts .
His wammy bar stuff is incredible!! It's not just an effect, he blends it seamlessly into his melodic statements. Dude was way better than he got credit for.
@@satansavesthechildren4069.......... Ozzy was surrounded by a network of good people: his wife and manager, producers and studio techs (engineers) + good friends. How is it that Brad Gillis got the gig? I'll tell you: he has a great ear for music; learnt all these sabbath and Rhodes songs within a few weeks. I know music, and Gillis puts a few interesting nuances within some songs. Of coarse there were sections of some of the two albums which Rhodes played on that Gillis had to improvise slightly. Brad Gillis was thrown in at the deep end and did a super-fine job. Rhodes was a complete and pure player, gifted, could read and write his own complex music. Gillis, flipside, had to use his ears, knowledge of all scales and chords with his eyes closed. Ozzy osbourne could have had anyone........ He picked Gillis. Thank Goodness, he did.
Bernie Torme came first, then Brad. Torme wasn't the first to be asked to fill Randy's spot. We know Michael Schenker was asked but he had priorities. Torme was asked by the record company and he said yes, despite not knowing anything about Ozzy or Randy. His style didn't meld with Ozzy's direction and was different from Randy's. So Torme and Ozzy mutually agreed after 7 shows that Ozzy needed someone else. That someone else was Brad Gillis. Torme had to learn Ozzy's set list in a week. And given what he was up against, he pulled out better than most would. He had to adapt to a completely different style than his typical hard rock. If Torme wasn't there, the ball may not have rolled like it should have.
Nope. He was the second. Bernie Torme was the first, and I caught the very first show with him in Bethlehem PA. We learned that Ozzy and the band were rehearsing at the venue (Stabler Arena) and we cut school and hitchhiked to B'hem the day before the show so we could stand outside and listen to the rehearsals. Then we hitched home and hitched back the next day for the show Considering that Torme had literally just a few days to learn the whole set, I think he did a decent job
@@marlowewillard I was there for Torme's first show, and we got to listen to some of the rehearsals the day before. The security guys let us look in from a side door, but we couldn't go inside. I was like 15 or 16 at the time, and I found the rehearsal process fascinating. Like, it dawned on me that these were just people at work, doing their jobs. It demystified the whole thing for me, but also made it more interesting at the same time
Nope shaved his head before that! TX jam .. Cotton Bowl Aug 82. Because next show was New Orleans and Ozzy said he was going to do something crazy...rumour was got drunk on bourbon st and shaved his head.. But hair was already cut show b4. He made it seem like he ripped his hair out when pullef wig off and blood coloring on his chrome dome
There's no way this is Ozzy's voice as recorded during this performance. It's a joke. You can hear the doubling and possibly tripling of his voice. So dumb.
For a while, they actually had an offstage singer who could mimic Ozzy's voice, but that was later, like during the Ozzfest era. I'm sure they just used sampling technology for later Ozzy and Sabbath tours
I'm not 100% on this, however, I do believe (Speak of the Devil) is on i-tunes... I have the CD which I bought in '88; before that, I had a dubbed cassette which lived in my car. I gather that you're typing it all in correctly......... Mmmm, I hope you get it..... Krivo...

The pressure he was under. I read where Brad earned a reportedly $500k for just finishing the tour with Ozzy.
Brad is awesome and a super nice guy!

I work in logistics, almost everyday I smoke weed and drink beer watching this after my working hours. Incredible vibe
Me too 😂🤘
Yall hiring😅
Very fucking nice! Still one of my all time favorites, no matter who's playing guitar.
Great . underrated
Ozzy just cant decide if he should put that mike in the stand or not....Brad played flawlessly!
Yes sir Brad was the best replacement of Roads a underated musician and guitarists.
Lmao
😂
Cocaine
God bless brad gillis man.. most luckiest unlucky guy ever
He rocked this gig!! One of the first Ozzy albums I ever heard in the form of an old recorded cassette that mysteriously appeared from I know not where.
My first concert I was 15 London gardens. I was too young to understand what an amazing job Brad did. Amazing 🤘
So awesome. This is is such great video concert. You gotta buy the video "Speak Of The Devil". The quality on the DVD is even better..
God his voice is awesome here!!
I agree but I think there was some playback or some production after the fact
it's a fake voice recorded in a studio. Ozzy sounds weak live.
Brad ,,,,what can I say ...AWESOME!!
I can imagine Ozzy smelling like Ivory soap and coors beer here.
You mean he actually washed himself? Nah, I think he probably would eat the bar of soap and then wash it down with some more Coors. Damn good sound though!
Tommy Aldridge was king of the hill of hard rock drummers during this time, which is why Ozzy hired him.
Sharon hired him , because he was easier .. for her to control than Lee Kerslake , who recorded drums on the albums . Tommy is good no doubt but he's still playing Kerslake's parts .

no this was all reworked on the studio
An overdub but still his vocals doubled over.
Still sounds good
@@databasedan6833 a little bit of overdubbing but when ozzy wanted , he could sing good
WTF is Ozzy doing ?!? 3:40 🤣

his vocals were recorded again later in the studio
On the record it was. @@jumpfart666
Painful to watch after surfing RR vids. But Brad is the shit no less.
Nice back up but no where near Randy's skill but it worked for a short time rip rander
This is just painful to watch. No wonder Rudy left
Leave .....bye-bye dont watch then!
Overdubbed.
If it were overdubbed they would have fixed Rudy's bass.
fuck you
They overdubbed this huh?
That's just overdumbed
Yeah dopes they overdubbed Ozzy voice he is right.
Overdubbed but Ozzy's sense of timing is spot on.
