Hi. My car is Mercedes 2000 W202 C230 kompressor. Rough idle, sometimes stalling. Code P1519 appear. I have changed Camshaft Position Sensor but the same code appear. What is P1519 code?
That's code relates to the camshaft solenoid on the intake side of the engine, basically under the front cover of the engine there is a round object screwed to the timing cover on the cylinder head, it is held by three Allen screws and is on the intake side. This is called a Camshaft adjuster solenoid (also known as a camshaft magnet) these are prone to failure from oil ingress and take around 5 minutes to replace, there is no gasket so use a thin layer of rtv to seal when fitting a new one, these units are not normally expensive and you can find good condition used ones quite easily on eBay too. I hope that helps
@@KlmisKlim the next thing to check is your timing chain set timing holes in the cams to line up and lock them see what position your crank pulley is at I can't remember off the top of my head what it should be though I think it was anything above 25 degrees after top dead centre is out of spec. Basically the timing chain stretching can cause a mildly rough idle
Hi. I have the same problem. Rough idle and sometimes it doesn’t start. Run the diagnostics and has code p0341. Already changed the camshaft sensor but it’s exactly the same. First time used a used sensor and now a new one. But no luck. Same code on ECU
Hi, thanks for the video. I have the same car and does it have a outlet Camshaft position sensor? Btw, struggle to find out where crankshaft position sensor is and appreciated if you could make a new video for it. Thanks!
No problem I hope it helped some, there is no exhaust camshaft position sensor, it only has one on the intake camshaft. Also the crankshaft position sensor is towards the back of the engine on the intake side where the engine meets the transmission bell housing, it's a bit awkward to get to due to the intake manifold getting in the way. 🙂
@@M-oneeleven-M111 ok, thanks, then I will buy one camshaft sensor. For crankshaft position sensor, yes, something is blocked from reaching it. I plan to jack up the car to see if it can be replaced. Thanks and looking forward to your next video.

Hi there, if not already please subscribe it really helps and I do try to help everyone if I can. It can cause that yes also higher fuel consumption and occasional misfires. Most issues on the M111 are more likely to be linked to the MAF sensor. Does the car sound like it's bogging down, as is in a very deep tone coming from the intake? Normally I just replace these sensors if the car has done 100k or more as the sensors themselves are not too expensive and they take 5 minutes to replace. I also do the same for the crank position sensor and only use genuine Bosch sensors. If your having any running issues I always recommend first off checking the MAF sensor if it's coated in oil inside this can also cause your symptoms and is extremely common, this is all due to the way the breather system is designed and oil getting recirculated with gas back into the intake. I do have a couple of videos on the channel explaining this. Also the condition of spark plugs can effect performance more than you may think, basically if they're black and look like the engine may have been running rich it's a good idea to replace them. Hope this helps 🙂👍
@@M-oneeleven-M111 Thanks for fast response man! Yes it sounds like that, its hard to explain it but its like silent v8 noise when accelerating from cruise speed as soon i let go of the gas the noise stops. I think there is a slight hesitation too. Revving in park engine sounds normal.. and my car is 1999 c230k 294 000Km
hmm I'm wondering if this maybe ignition related but start by checking the MAF, but also at that kind of distance on the car it may be a coil pack breaking down. with the way our earlier M111s are done we have 1 oil for two cylinders so at high rpm that is a huge load on the coil. So this can mean sometimes when the cars in park or revved when stationary it will rev fine, but when there is load on the engine the coil struggles to generate enough current for a strong spark so you have a mild misfire underload. basically it's a bit like spark blowout as the coils breakdown. also our Bosch engine management doesn't like to give us an EML we had a totally destroyed piston in our turbo Slk, even with a destroyed cylinder we had no EML still started first time everytime though there's a video of that on the channel. Also with worn out spark plugs you will get similar issues as a coil breaking down. I had a Burgundy W202 C230k with a overdrive pulley (also on the channel) that lost a coil pack and drove 8 miles one two cylinders and still didn't flag up an EML. I would start with the MAF, I have videos on the channel for how to clean and explaining the breather system. Then check spark plugs see what condition they're in. Also has the car ever had a fuel filter whilst you have owned it? again underload the engine requires more fuel than when doing stationary revs so a clogged up fuel filter will give you a laggy response. the sound you describe seems like a mild misfire, but it could also be a lack of fuel or a lean mixture. I know this is a lot to take in but I like to just explain a lot in one go as it's easier for me to process in my mind if that makes sense. 👍
@@M-oneeleven-M111 Thank you so much! I think i will try to check those first, i had changed oil and air filters last summer also the spark plugs(Ngk). I used castrol magnatec 5w-40 oil if that matters 😄 So im not sure when was the last time since fuel filter changed, i owned this car like 2 years now. Is there any way of testing the coil packs or is it just to change them? Also i added fuel system cleaner to the tank yesterday to see if its a dirty injector but not seeing a lot of difference yet. But do you think this problem is not timing chain or valve related? That is what i fear the most. Browsed most of your videos and they are really informative! 👍
Sometimes yes you can just clean it, especially if you live in a cold climate the tip of the sensors can get coated in emulsion from oil and moisture mixing. this doesn't happen so much in a hot climate, but I alway suggest try cleaning before replacing 👍
Thanks. You are vert helpfull.
