Totally forgot about the action 2, but your side by side actually makes a lot more sense than comparing the Go to the newest GoPro or DJI products! Thanks for the great review!
I have bought the gopro. It had over heating problems. And no pass through charging without buying there batter. Then it was to large for my needs. And i have tried other cameras. I have bought the go3s. Liking it so far. It goes to your needs.
Interesting comparison, I don't own either camera, and I don't think I'm interested in either one. But the Action 2 holds up well for an older camera. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this comparison, I am in the market to get exactly one of these 2, and I feel I will be happy with the Action 2, which I prefer the styling anyway. I was worried about the overheating, but my use with the previous Sony Action cam was always record short clips, with some time lapse. So I think I will be fine if I choose the 128gb Action 2.
So I use my action 2 mounted to my avata2 - Bec the SIZE - and centered camera. Most action cams have an off-center camera, and I've never got WHY - it's annoying af
I've used the Go2 camera in the past exclusively with the hat clip, and used the vibration feature (when the camera starts and stops recording) to know that the recording has started and/or stopped. I was checking the Go3s settings earlier today and realized that the Go3s camera does not have a vibrate feature. I checked the settings in the Action Pod as well as the Mobile App but could not find the said feature. Is there a setting I'm missing or does the Go3s camera stand-alone just outside the action pod does not vibrate?
The dji action 2 camera without the module is not gonna record for 70 minutes 😂 it's gonna overheat and turn off in 10 mins. Too bad the insta can only record for 30 minutes without the module, that's pretty pathetic
@bengalcityfootball By old version, do you mean all of the 32 gb camera's or only the first batch of action 2? Im curious because I want to buy an action 2.
Comparing 2 cameras with similar case uses and footprint rather than comparing against the latest state of the art full blown camera that is designed to be used differently - how novel. Darn it, I just bought a 3s. But too be honest I would still get the 3S as it fits in with what I want better (the cap mount is a filler feature for me) and doubles up as a standard action camera when I need it to (which will be not very often as I have a hero 10 and Ace Pro to do that). Doesn't mean that I'm not still contemplating the Action 2 though - just need to find that key scenario when it is going to be THE ONE. For the 3S that scenario happens to be getting a true POV when I'm rebuilding my polytunnel without getting in the way of my vision (as I wield power tools, standing on a ladder whilst wrestling with polytunnel parts) and without weighing my hat down as my big Action Cameras would do.
@@RobHK yeah I know - I think GoPro had or has that same "fat" look if i remember correctly. Thats why I always liked DJI products way more due to their more natural look
Ye, its only when you hold it to close tho, as my example of the action 2’s screen being smaller. But with the go3s i usually use megaview and it looks like any other camera with “normal” FOV setting.
I liked the DJI A2 when it was released and planned on buying. Howerver, there were so many reviews pointing out the cam overheats easily. At last, I did not buy it. I am not sure if the overheating problem stays after upgrade to 128GB.
They now ship with a case that allows the hardware to go to a higher temperature and can you get very long clips but neither of these is 2-3+ hour continuous clips like a true action camera. These are best used with shorter clips
@@markr041 i know some adventure creators like to do continuous since they dont have the time to turn it on and off. I would chop up a 2 hour clip anyways so theres really no point to record that long
@@Siewpermansame! but after watching hundreds of reviews I finally bought it during prime for 150 usd, it's one of my best purchase of 2024. Haven't experienced overheating with my use. I always have it in my bag ready to point and shoot for day in the life short-form videos 😊

re: the magnet on the DJI- couldn't you have just twisted the camera upwards so its not pointing down?!
I have the action 2 but I really want to switch to go3s for just 1 reason, interval video recording.
How is the video recording interval? Can you please explain to me?
@@lupaaaaa Due to heating problem you have to give rest to DJI A2

I've got the 32gb version of the action 2, I got it cheap when the 128gb version came out but it's fine for me with a 128gb card in the battery
Great comparison. Can you show us indoor / low light comparison footage
dji action 2 is so underrated. I like it so much more than the insta360 go series
Prices in Poland:
DJI Action 2 Dual-Screen Combo - 750 pln.
Insta360 3s - 1730 pln.
Imho DJI Action 2 winner AF
Where can you find for DJi for 750 ?
Is going for dji osmo action 2 with power combo (128gb)(200 usd converted) worth it for motovlogging at 1080p 60Hz ?

did you test it here with wide fov setting on insta go 3s? cause I think there's plenty angle options to choose from

Is it me or does your head look wider on the Go 3S?
It does, but its the Action View vs Ultra wide, so using any other i would be skinny. Its just comparing the widest on both 👍
Do you think I can use any of these cameras to play soccer like in the chest?
Thanks in advance!!
Sure thing 👌
