I will give it the idea of the prop guards is a plus. If we could get say the future Mini 5 Pro with the prop guards. Need a simple way to get access to the props themselves to swap them for something better, or replace a broken prop. Many of us are salivating of a drone that we can legally fly over people that has the quality of the Mini Series drones. The idea that you cannot simply swap out the props on the DJI Flip is an annoying issue. The design isn't the worst, but not the best. Knowing that due to this design you are pretty much either looking for very smooth clean surfaces or it will always be the palm land. It sad the prop is only a duel blade and not a 3 to 5 blade propeller that would have much better stability and control of the aircraft. I'd honestly get the Mini 3 Pro over this drone. sensor do have the occasional downside, but not having a drone where your taking circular video and the drone cannot see anything above, behind and to the sides will end up in a bunch of crashes and many sent back to DJI for replacement or repair. Why DJI didn't just offer RID on this drone where you could turn it on or off for those that wanted to do recreational flying, but not having to worry about getting into trouble flying over cars or people. Thank you for the video. I always enjoy them. You have such amazing scenery around you to shoot all the time and snow makes some of the most beautiful videos!
I will get Neo for quick shot with family vlog. as you mentioned good image quality I can use Mavic series. your videos really helped my drone gear decisions. comment from Japan. thanks😁
I'm leaning toward the Flip. We are planning to Walk the Herriot Way in Yorkshire in September. It's a 4 day, 48 mile walk from village to village. We'll just carry day packs on the walk (our luggage will be moved to the next stop) and want to keep the size and weight of the day packs to a minimum. I like the convenience of automatic flights and control with my iPhone so I don't have to carry a controller, but with the better image quality over the Neo. I may leave the controller at home or take it for the second half of the trip where I won't have to pack it. Your video was very helpful and I learned a lot about all three that I didn't know. Thanks so much! I'll probably be back for your LUTs. I love grading in DaVinci Resolve.
@@RHSTJBROWN12but the price includes a mandatory controller. Many loyal customers have that controller already. They need to have a drone only option. I’m not buying a duplicate controller since I just bought the mini 4 pro
I really wish the Flip can be purchased with just the drone itself. I will sell my Neo Fly More combo to pay for it. I also have the Mini 4 Pro so I can just use my RC2 to control the Flip
I'm a little unclear, you mention that with the mini 4 pro that you need the rs2 controller with you at all times - do using waypoints mean you can put the rs2 in a backpack and get on with your outing or do you need it in your hand at all times ? Can I also ask how goid are the mini 4 pro and the flip in keeping up ? I'm considering doing some trail running vids and am considering a drone... image quality is fairly important to me as I'm also a hobbyist photographer so would like to take photos too on occasions. Thanks, these videos are wonderful and helpful.
I had a Neo that i lost on some roof last week😥. The one thing I don't like about it is the film quality when slightly windy. The digital stabilization leaves ugly artifacts. Now, I know it's a cheap drone, and I am happy for that, especially since I lost it, but I think that my next one will be a more expensive one. That said, I miss my Neo. Humbly, Ylan
Neo or flip in scenarios such as you are in crowd, considering most holiday spots are more than 1 person locations.. I returned it thinking it might be flyaway if I used in scenarios where there is more than 1 person
FIY: All these drones actually have a 12 MP sensor and so does the Air 3(S). The "48 MP" is achieved with a quadbayer filter and adds very little in terms of actual resolution.
Mini 4 pro, the name says it all. Pro. For marketing and advertising, for wedding shoots, believe it or not, even for movies if you know your stuff. Neo, it's fun. It's cute, tiny and easy. Simple as that. For those quick memories you have with friends and family. If dji can get a few more things updated, neo will be the best beginner drone ever. No need for a neo 2 or 3 or neo pro.
I want to buy dji flip for family pics and vids also want to have some fun with neo as fpv. To save some cash i am thinking of buying the neo+goggle+motion bundle and dji flip with rcn3 controller. Am i doing something bad by not buying the rc2 flip bundle? Please someone give me an honest advice.
I am not sure! Just snow and ice around here so not really biking conditions atm, but i will have this tested on our next trip for sure. But for now i would check flythpat, he might have the answer on this topic 👍
@ ok thanks Rob. I think there are a lot of people who are traveling by bike who like to know if there is a difference between the to drones. I hope you make a video about when snow and ice is gone and with nice sun!
so let me geuss, the next step DJI is going to do is a Mini 5 version. That cost about 1200 and gives you the omnidirectional avoidence (all sensors) and the buttons for quick mode's so you dont have to use a controller. Or are they gonne milk more out of the Flip and Neo first?? Because the Flip is not giving much MORE than the Neo.
Thought the same. But I think it’s because 4 Pro got true vertical shooting and dedicated night mode. Other than that they’re basically the same, but with Flip at lower cost.
Using prices from DJI web store. RC2$369, RCN3$129, Battery$65, Charging Hub$49, DJI Sling Bag$89. If we look at the three Flip packages available, then the DJI Flip DRONE ONLY pricing should be between $142 - $270 - $310. Therefore I'm guessing that DJI may sell the DRONE ONLY for $349 or hopefully less.🤞
I'll stick with the Neo. Perfect size, virtually indestructible (therefore no need for useless obstacle sensors), clever fly modes. Only drawback is the video quality, but you can easily DOUBLE its quality with a bit of post-processing (I am using DaVinci to re-colorgrade, denoise it and convert it to ultra-smooth 4K 60FPS, using frame-interpolation, which gets completely rid of that yaw axis jitter then). So it's the perfect everyday-always-with-me drone. Flip is too big in size - and, to be honest, ugly like hell.
The FLOP... Seriously, let's hold out for the Neo 2 in September. Slightly bigger and with a better camera. No need to support the continuous DJI market saturation attempts. At least compare it to the Hoverair which DJI is trying to rip off.
I only don't have the flip it's tempting to buy for low shots and better quality then my Neo I might give the Neo to my wife and use the flip for myself haha
@ Ya if 1080p, then it’ll be easy to edit and the file could be much smaller. In this video I see that he has shot on 1080p for Neo comparing with 4k of flip and mini 4 pro, that’s why I was wondering
Great video and this has helped me. But, I have a question that's a little different and may make a good video too. What is the better 'next' drone? I have the Neo, just got it. I was already planning to get another drone that's more advanced and has a better camera. I want to do business with a drone one day. So now I'm wondering what would be the better 'next' drone to get, the Mini 4 Pro or the Flip? I was looking at a refurbished M4P from DJI, but the Flip is out now. I'm wondering will the Flip meet all the recreation and business needs, being a one drone to do it all. Versus having a dual Neo & M4P to meet those needs. What say you?
Another fantastic video, but I have a question for you even though I can clearly see that the DJI flip has more detail. I think overall the image quality seems to look better on the Neo. What are your thoughts? All the videos of the flip, I’m just not impressed with the flips image quality, even though that I could see clearly a little bit more detail details but the overall image does not look as good as Neo. 4:47
From my standpoint, its the environment. Its all gray, sad and ugly atm which can’t really highlight the quality of the Flip. So which ever is my recommended travel drone out of these, I can’t say atm. But watching this on a phone its of course gonna be harder to see the difference which im highlighting in my upcoming video 👍
I have a Neo and an Air 2s. The Neo is great and personally I think the picture quality is good, maybe a little over saturated but that can be dealt with in post. Bearing in mind the majority of viewer for my vlogs see the footage either on a smart phone or tablet the quality is more than enough. Even on a 32" monitor it looks great. People are obsessed with pixel peeping. The Flip doesn't appear much smaller the the M4P folded. The Neo fits in my pocket and for quick aerial footage is ample. I wouldn't pay $700 for the Flip I'd rather save up for the M4P.
I want a drone that will help me capture my runs. I run at a track typically and I want a drone to track me from the front. Would the flip be good for this? Image quality is important to me. I’m not the fastest runner but I want a drone that will keep up and that I don’t have to have a controller to fly the drone. Is the flip a good fit for this? I am an experienced drone pilot and familiar with DJI drones, so I am not completely new to this. Any recommendations for my specific use case would be appreciated.
great points! while every nerds on RUclips are trying to tell not to buy this drone you're just showing the difference , side by side comparison . And you make good conclusions ! I already bought FLIP , so sorry for those who bought NEO first , jejeje

Your picture and video are misleading since the price of the NEO is for the basic one and the price of the FLIP is the biggest package.
It's not tho
how much is the basic flip?
And in the entire video he has never shown any details how the middle drone called Flip opens to become a drone from that table fan like structure.
The basic flip is 439$ . Next combo set is 749$

Agreed! imho i kinda goes against the purpose of the drone itself being a self flying A.I drone. Hope it comes soon 🤞
Tracking people walking is 100x better in the Neo vs my air 3. Flips a great drone if you want more than the Neo but I love my Neo. Like a lot.
Wb battery 🥺
How do you find the Air3 for the other usual stuff like photography and videography?? (Not tracking)
I tried a Neo with a phone as controller but found it difficult to fly smoothly towards a building that's near by etc
This is off topic of the drones. What brand of coat is that? It almost looks like the Hestra gloves emblem on the side.
Which video return is better from a fun point of view that of the Neo, with its FOV or that of the Flip?

Flip got Waypoints too but it’s in the Hyperlapse section. Next firmware update should bring more goodies to Flip.

the neo price is hard to beat and i have the mini 3 pro.....im good if you can get the flip on its own for 300 maybe
So you are saying you are able to fly flip and neo in low light, that is not possible, I tried and failed
Flip quality look better Than Mini 4 pro, Neo is great if you shoot on sunny day. Don't like the shape/look of the flip.... waiting for Neo 2

Neos perfect if you could turn down the sharpness via the mobile app. Stupid that you can't. DJIs way to get you to spend more.
Isn’t the Mini 4 Pro only 4K/30 FPS? Flip goes to 100 FPS?
A relative got a Fimi Mini3 to get to 4K/60 FPS because he needed 60 FPS Quality.
Mini 4 is 4k 60hdr and 4k 100 slow motion and 1080p 200fps

779 for the flip and no remote ID.
how fast can these drones go in follow mode? i am curious if they could follow me in my motorcycle even at low speeds
I saw a review where the Neo was doing 20mph following a bicycle. The mini 4 Pro is rated at about 22.5mph and the Flip is rated at 27mph.
@smithe68 thank you!
@ no problem!

Thanks for posting this video. Most informative!! Only problem- far to many adverts. Spoilt the experience.
Oh ill check that! Its automated so i didnt check, usually youtube is doing good on this part🫣😅 thanks for letting me know
DJI Mini 4 Pro
Ace pro 2 ? Not a DJI pocket 3?

Can you confirm flip will not work with goggles?
No, but atm its not supported
do you think it could comes with just a software update ? or it wont be possible @@RobHK
Eventually im sure, when the demands and requests are high enough it will be added with a firmware. I see no reason why it shouldn't
Could you show us what happens to each when they run into a tree at speed? I use my Autel Nano+ in lowlight.
The Flip is too expensive for what it is
Dont like the flip
Its ugly !
Will not be buying one!
Looks like the arms on the flip would easily be broken !!
I pref my neo and avata 2 drones !
Ok??????? lol
Think it looks cool, and definately more robust than mini 4
