I got mine now. thanks to this videos that really makes me like Neo more. the value for money and being a drone that is hassle free, user friendly, and not needing to consume time to setup before flying is just great.
I never owned a drone before the Neo, I got it just to take some quick footage on vacations or when training. I got the fly more option, so I have a little more control when using the drone during vacation. Up until now I used it to shoot some quick video during my running training. It just is fantastic for that, you put it in a little trail-running backpack get it out on a suitable location, turn it on, choose the mode, run off and it follows you like a faithful puppy, stop, reach out your hand, it lands, put it back on your backpack and all done. After the run you get in on your phone in a few minutes and you can edit it in less than half an hour. there is no collision detection so you have to keep that in mind. (no narrow trails) It's a little slow for biking, you won't film a sprint with it. Tested it out in my parents garden, took it up over 100 m high, flew through the trees with my smartphone on the controller to guide me, played around with it some more and it works great. it's more than enough for what I want. I have some RC experience, and the controls are so easy to pick up. the thing is so stable. Yeah learning to master a third dimension is a process ;) when you come from cars and boats. You just have to be baffled that all this sits in a 199$/€ drone. This review just confirms everything I felt and thought this little bugger, and well, it comes from someone with way more experience with drones than me. But I can confirm, this little thing is super easy to use and it fits in a large pocket, ideal for sport vlogging !
You may already know this, but if you use custom and tracking you can have it track you from any direction, not just front or back. So you stand sideways to it when you have it "Map" you, and it will stay to your side when you run. Or any other place around you in 360 degrees.
@@KevinVenturePhilippines Yep, but it seems to be wonky at the moment, in general the drone ends up chasing again, but I set that one on low medium and the actual chase on high medium. Gives an easy way to diversify the shots without getting the phone out. But having it track you from the side would be fun too. Hopefully the mode is fixed with the latest firmware update.
@@kelly_eagle It doesn't like wind all that much. It's light an small. People complain it doesn't work even in a light breeze, I don't know what people consider as a light breeze though. I used it on a slightly windy day and it coped quite well actually, drains the battery I suppose. There is this video of a guy using it at a VERY windy beach and the neo gets an absolute beating, yet the footage is surprisingly stable.
This is a really nice video! Nice pacing in music selection. I love the Neo as well. In the short time that I’ve owned it I think I’ve flown it more than all of my drones combined. The fact that it’s so light makes me less concerned about breaking it at the crashes. This intern has made me a better pilot. That helps my confidence with my Air 3. Your video inspired me to fly my Neo drone right now. Unfortunately it’s dark outside. Take care.

Great video. Got the Neo. Updates I want is a double tap or do something on the quick shot buttons on the top when its on a certain type to change the meters / distance. I know you can do it on the app but would e great to do it in the moment and being able to adjust or have a PRO mode in the app without having to use the controller.
It’s kept up with me and my dog while we long boarded and even surprised me the way it will dip down with me when I crouch!! It’s SO cool! The last time I tried to catch us skating I had to use the remote with my mini 2 and crashed it twice 😂 one time I even forgot to record! I LOVE this little thing!!
Got mine yesterday, I love it but havent had a chance to use it much yet. It seems to me the ideal companion when out and about, if Im shooting for work Ill use the mini 3 pro but as something to get a few moments and have fun its absolutely brilliant. I hope DJI continue to expand its capabilities in updates but even as it is I find it great for capturing quick clips without it taking up loads of space in my kit bag. It really does need to have manual exposure when using just the app and drone.
I've got all 3 of these DJI drones and I love them. It is so much fun flying them around I feel like a bird. I think I like the avata 2 the most then the mini 4 pro and last but not least the neo. Even when I'm not flying them I cant stop thinking about flying it 😂🚁👍
I’ve watched so many vids on this now and I’ve come to the conclusion that for the price it offers good value for money it is not going to be a top grade drone as your not paying that price tag. The footage is useable it does what is says on the box, if you want more your gonna have to pay more
dji's goal is to let people try the drone field. They probably saw that drone thing is still very niche thus opening the market more is needed for better revenue. This was a very good output from their product management team.

Like you said, for the casual user its capturing the "moment" that matters most. neo provides great automatic features at a price point accessible to nearly anyone. 1080p is adequate for the vast majority of casual users this drone is marketed towards. Interesting shots available directly from the drone without any real learning curve. Hello. I just watched this useful video. I was planning to purchase the Neo for my upcoming vacation. This will be my first drone. Can you tell how does this drone function in low light or night time?
I recently got the Avata 2 combo. I'm thinking of getting a Neo to learn how to fly Manual with sticks since I should be able to control it with the Goggles 3/Motion Controller 3 and FPV RC3 Controller. And I think it will survive more crashes than my Avata 2, while I practice. :) My only problem with the Neo is that it's a lot louder than the Avata 2, with a higher pitch 'scream'.
Love your work...pardon my ignorance, but what donyou mean by shot handheld?? Were you using your phone as a controller?? Or were you using an actual controller?
Videoquality definitely needs some improvement (hopefully via softwareupdates for some degrees). But there are some things that also needs some attention: 1.) after a crash the drone tends to escape the situation and sometimes full speed rushes off in one direction. I had a near water crash due to this situation. Only a little tree saved it. 2.) Hand detection for landing. I am climbing regularly and autofollow is really neat when going up a rock. But when I am at peak the drone stands 2-3 meters off the cliff and I need to connect the phone to get it closer for pickup. 3.) When it flies in front of you, it is quite hard to get it because it tries to keep the distance .. also a little topic to hand detection. Nevertheless, I have flown and crashed this little drone more often in the last 3 weeks than my bigger Mini that I own for 4 years now. Amazing tech and very easy to carry with you.
I love my Neo. Definitely 👍. It's just a pain having to update the rc-n2 firmware every time I switch between the neo and the mini 4. It's so annoying 🙄
Hello, just came across this video. You mentioned that the raw footage of this drone is too sharp, so what did you do to make it better (in terms of during editing)? I never edit videos before so some guidance would be helpful. Thanks
I know you can get some place and know you have left something behind, but the wind noise, for me, was too distracting. But I do have a question vis-a-vis RIDs. Did you get a remote ID device for your NEO?

The altitude level it can fly in is quite high..however the relative height it can fly from the user is not quite as high
Love your work...pardon my ignorance, but what donyou mean by shot handheld?? Were you using your phone as a controller?? Or were you using an actual controller?
What modifications or edits were made to the original footage? Or you used the raw video in the DJI Neo footage that appears in the video?
I’d also like to know this
helpful video....thanks
Would you recommend this for use indoors with crowds? Will it still track well? Will it hit into fixed objects?
I was thinking about the NEO long time buut finalyy I have decided to get the Hover Air x1 pro max
U have me sold this would do me perfect for my hyking trip
Never had a drone before.....does the DJi Neo app come with editing software?
You have the DJI Lightcut app which you can use for editing which is a free one 👌
Videoquality definitely needs some improvement (hopefully via softwareupdates for some degrees). But there are some things that also needs some attention:
1.) after a crash the drone tends to escape the situation and sometimes full speed rushes off in one direction.
About 3). You have to stand still for 3 seconds to stop tracking mode. Then it won't try to escape when you're approaching
Thanks
I have a video on this "Change these settings" - Will help you out 😃
I know you can get some place and know you have left something behind, but the wind noise, for me, was too distracting. But I do have a question vis-a-vis RIDs. Did you get a remote ID device for your NEO?
