- A very quick tutorial that demonstrates how to change the engine air filter on your 2016-up Honda Civic with a 2.0 engine. This applies to all Civics with the 2.0 engine, including the new 2022 model.
The HONDA OEM filter can be purchased here (Amazon Paid Link) amzn.to/3ilP7r1
Part number is 17220-5BA-A00 Авто/Мото
Thanks for showing me where the air filter is without talking forever first, like every other video I found.
Thanks for the video. Just took me a whole 3 minutes and nothing but the cost of the filter. My dealership wanted to charge me $100+ 🙄
Jack your video is money in the bank, Thanks.
Thank you! Replaced mine today :)
Yea my dealer wanted to charge me 140
Wow. That's crazy
Mine 60!
My dealer wanted $150, I just went to autozone and got some STPs until I can order parts from the dealer, I have 20k miles on a 22, so it’s kinda the first of its kind at that dealer
70 y/o granny here. Did it myself and the cabin filter too! Saved at least $100 doing both myself. Oh, and changed the wiper blades too!
Mine 88$ rip off from dealer
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. :)
I replaced mine yesterday along with the cabin air filter as well.
helpful, thanks man
Thank you, sir!
Thanks!!
No vacuum or cleaning on the air filter case required?
How do you keep your engine bay so clean, what do you clean it with?
How many miles/km do you replace the air filter? Can one just vaccum/ clean the fitler instead of buying a new one?
Do you have the link for the 1.5 L engine?
Thanks. How often should the filter be changed? Does your opinion of aftermarket filters also apply to Fram? I see that they have one called "Extra Guard" that says 12k change intervals
Depends on driving conditions. Where I live there are dirt roads, so I try and change it every 15k
Is it normal for only one area of the filter to be black and sooty looking? 2022
civic less than 7k miles
No not normal.
Dealership is probably overfilling your engine oil and thereby blowback to air filter. 7k miles black&sooty, not normal unless you driver in dusty dirty conditions.
I have a 22 sport, got it in June of last year, I use it for work so I have 20k on it, nothing like that is happening for me but it’s time to change it.
I’d take it to the dealer and explain your situation, also watch out for door panels, my passenger side sorta kinked upwards where the Honda symbol on the windows wasn’t visible
My husband just changed the filter and it makes a little noise is it normal? It’s all new to me, everything is clipped back in place.
What kind of noise? It shouldn't make noise.
Dealer wanted $56! 🖕🏻
Yep. Crazy
Dealer charged me $120 for my previous filter change. Just realized it was a big rip off. Not falling for it anymore. Thank you for the video.
