- Discord badges are loved by many people for absolutely no reason. However, there are a group of people that like these rare badges so much that they are willing to buy accounts with Discord badges for thousands of dollars. This made me think "how much are discord badges?" and hopefully this video can give you a decent ballpark number on how much a Discord account may cost if someone were to sell it.

1. Don't sell your Discord account.
2. Apparently there are people earning the bug hunter badge and the golden bug hunter badge so the number of badges is more closer to 100-200 than 50.
3. I've been told that my prices are pretty high. I've also had people say my prices are too low for certain things. Generally speaking it seems like most people agree with the low-end of the price ranges of the badges. However with the different price modifiers (and the reputation of the seller), prices can climb past what people would want to purchase it for.
At the end of the day, I'm trying to price something that is honestly worth nothing in my eyes. If I had to spend $1000 on Discord, I'd just buy nitro, not a stupid badge.

I actually have every single one of these badges except for the discord staff one & the moderator academy one. When I was younger I wanted to buy nitro and got it for my birthday and it just continued from there, I saw cool events and participated in them and actually enjoyed it. The account still remains safe but I forgot its password lol.

its the same reason people buy rare usernames and designer clothes. they do it to flex and to get status. if you can spend 2k on a discord account it likely means you have much more to spend. the main people who buy stuff like this are cybercriminals who want to flex on other cybercriminals to get status and trustworthiness basically

Nitro badges are like the cape market on minecraft with cape hunters. Except most capes except migratory and vanilla one sell for thousands of dollars

They’re worth it tho, because they’re actually viable to sell because the account selling community is quite large. I know multiple people myself who’s profited hundreds of dollars with trading/selling/buying mc accounts.

Fun fact: you can still get the early verified bot developer badge, if you join an application team that has a bot that was verified before august 2020.
Edit: For people asking, no, you can't just join a team. You have to be trusted enough by the team owners that they would invite you to their team, because if you're in a team, you can delete whole apps or bots. And I don't think devs would want anyone to do that.

Interestingly they don’t have an accessibility tester badge. There’s a neat lil server where users with accessibility needs test new features to make sure they’re compatible with screen readers and other stuff before it’s rolled out
Note that if someone is selling something for a value of X, it isn't worth X. They just claim it to be worth X, but that is not true. But if someone is willing to buy, and manages to buy something for a value of Y, it is worth Y, because that is what someone was willing to pay for it. But if the seller refuses to sell it for Y and asks for X, then the value is between X and Y; it isn't X, it's less than X, but more than Y.
yea you need to take into account what's called BIN (buy it now prices, set by the seller) and C/O's (current offers from actual people) to calculate real price

I have the early supporter badge, active dev badge, 24 month booster badge and some other crap.
And I hardly EVER get scammers in my DMs.
Idk if they are just sleeping, or if I already got "blacklisted" from scammer's target lists or something because every rare moment I do get one in my DMs, I'm going to make absolutely sure I waste as much of their time as possible.

Being a discord partner tbh isn’t as insane or valuable as people make it to believe, it’s cool to have certain perks like not having to pay for nitro and server perks, but it really just boils down to constantly worrying about the activity stats in your server. Though I must say although I’m not allowed to say anything about the partnered discord server itself, every partner and person in there is extremely friendly and welcoming, makes you feel at home
I'm too, but I'm not worrying about stats. It really depends on your community, some needs to do a lot of work to keep their partner, other like me has 40% retention without doing anything..
The fact that there are more Discord staff than level 2 bug hunters just shows how rare the badge is.

i was surprised the lvl 2 bug hunter badge is that rare tbh. i found someone having it just chilling in a random dead discord server with 200 members, i knew him when he had the lvl 1 one aswell so yeah he didnt just buy the account lol
I have the golden bug hunter badge as well as the early supporter badge and I honestly just wanna say, that it's way less bad with scammers than people here in the comments make it out to be.
I am fairly active on a variety of big servers and I haven't gotten a scam-dm or a dm in general about the badges in more than a year (my dms are always open too!).
Also, the comment here at the top, claiming you can get early verified bot developer by just joining a team is complete bs. Don't waste your time.

the partner accounts are actually worth something other than being a badge, as it would come with a discord server with a lot of people in it + partner accounts have permanent free nitro
Early Supporter Accounts are actually sold illegally in the selling community in discord I mean half of them are grabbed. And they delete their original email and sell them.People also sell 12-24months booster badge for very high prices mostly are grabbed and cracked accounts.
Yep, I know a friend with an early supporter badge that got token grabbed, his account's email address was changed locking him out, and that account got sold in a server dedicated to selling accounts with badges

I actually got some people shut down and fined for selling accounts because I let them take my account they sold it recovered it and got into their selling server and main website discord and record everything for about 2 weeks and sent it over to discord support they actually gave me free nitro for doing it too for "helping to protect the community" so this year is free for me.

I didn't even know my early support badge was rare or valuable. Still, I wouldn't sell it for a dime, to me those badges are just neat sure but it's just sad buying accounts for a small display on your profile.

Some Fun Facts about the Hypesquad Events Badge:
Back when the Hypesquad Events was still a thing, for some period of time there were two versions of that badge, depending on when did you join the program. Current design was reserved for people that joined in what I'll call the original of first wave, where you had to actually record a video of yourself and tell Discord why you should be a part of Hypesquad. In exchange you got onto the special server and got some IRL Loot for free (a T-Shirt, some badges and stickers). That was circa 2016-2017 iirc. The second version of the badge was for the people who joined later on who AFAIK didn't had to record the video and didn't get the loot mailed to them. Their badge was white instead of orange and didn't have the star on the top.

I have an early supporter badge and I've only ever had one offer; some dude wanted to buy my account for $75. It amazes me that people spend the amount of money I'd spend to fuel my hobbies to an unorthodox level over a login...

Can confirm. I have the early developer badge and I get about 2 people per week trying to steal my account. Thankfully I'm a programmer and thus see right through all of these scammers lol

there are good reputable people who do the active bot dev badge thing for free (done on an alt, going strong since december 2022, thanks jam), if you're paying for that then you are pretty damn gullible.
well, if you're asking people to do it for free there's just that slim 1% you're getting scammed. plus not every people have connections, and connection could be counter-productive, like ntts who is pretty damn reputable and once shared the method itself, and then discord 'fixed' it
