8:01 this is like how in the Lego Batman movie they hired the guy who played Voldemort to voice Alfred but not have him also voice Voldemort, and the guy portraying Voldemort also sounded nothing like the original, he was all posh sounding instead of intimidating
I think the boss battles were a 'damned if they do, damned if they don't' type of situation. People found the first game's bosses boring and ask for them to be updated but if they had changed them there'd be so much nostalgia outrage from the fans for doing so.
25:37 Yeah, that was something I couldn't help but notice. I really wish they had added a new cutscene before the final boss fight. I also would have liked another cutscene for when Spyro runs into the Sorceress in the Super Bonus Round level.
Suspect!! So glad to have you back! I love your movie and game reviews due to your humor and enthusiasm! You’re one of my favorite movie critics here on RUclips!! Hope you have a Happy New Year and can’t wait to see your new videos for 2019!!!! 💪💪😎😎
Honestly, as a huge Spyro fan, your review is really great. I hope Toys for Bob listens to your advices/criticisms of the game to make their new Spyro game better then the reignited trilogy.
Yo my dude!!! Congrats on your first sponsor! I seriously love your content. Why? Well... A) Your reviews have great points, and fair criticism 2) You are hilarious. D) Your balance of review and comedy is awesome.
Perfect timing on the 'for free?' joke. Not two seconds before had my wife taken a sip of coffee. Came back out through her nose, she laughed so hard. And congratulations on your first sponsor. Here's to more videos from you.
Most of my favorite reviews are of something the reviewers loved as kids and obviously love to this day. These turn out of the best quality and full of heartwarming content, you can see on his face the emotions he had as a kid, you feel it too Good job, Ross 👍
I think I’ve found a new channel to subscribe to! With all honesty, you have my respect. You criticize the game properly, have a genuine passion and I can easily understand the points you give. Hopefully if the game is re-released in the future, I hope it can be all on the disc. I know that controversy quite split the community but I can relate. I will support a re-release and pay extra if I had to get 100% of the Trilogy offline. (Just in case my initial copy of the game breaks down with the online service) And on a side note: Did you know that the game had to be built from the ground up as Toys For Bob didn’t have the source code? They used a feature called ‘Spyroscope’ to replicate where the gem and egg locations (for example) would be. They also had to create a new engine in order to try emulate the feeling of gameplay. Anyway, thanks for the great video! I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Damn dude, I have to say that this video was really good. Especially the editing it was a joy to watch this video didn't even realise a half hour had gone by when I came to the end. Hope you keep up this kind of good videomaking. Congrats on the sponsor also
Awesome review Suspect! I love your reviews. I actually might love your gaming reviews even more than your movie reviews, and I love those. Great retrospective look on this game, and great criticisms as well. Since you’ve made a review of the Spyro games, and since you’re a Spider-Man fan, I’d love to see a review of Insomniac’s Spider-Man game. Also, if you have the time, I’d love to see you review the Ratchet and Clank games, if you find the time to play them. Great games as well, and arguably Insomniac’s baby.
17:26 Yeah, I can vouch for that. In the 3rd world in the first game, I had to run around in circles to catch an Egg Thief. It legit made me dizzy. I felt myself start to go a bit cross eyed.
After hearing Sunny Villa in some of your movie reviews I was anticipating at least one Spyro review from you eventually and it didn't disappoint! :D Now do Enter the Dragonfly.
Hell yeah!!! Edit: 17:59 - That melody sounds a lot like the one in Rod Stewart's "Walking in the Sunshine". Much less annoying in the game than in that song!
the biggest problem with Bently, is his club is NOT see through in the remake, and it obscures a LOT of what is ahead of you. hence the offset camera. Yet even so, it's still obscures a lot of the screen.
*Writing this before the review even started* Good to see you again man, hope alls good, hope the holidays were merry and happy new years. Keep ‘er lit mate:)
Spyro the Dragon 3 Year of the Dragon was one of the few PS1 games (other than a Jurassic Park fighting game, and some parts of Crash Bandicoot) I ever played as a kid. I was more of a PS2 kid and I still have my old system. Which still works even after a decade (maybe even more than that) of use!
Am I the only one who thought he’d have a ps4 instead of a Xbox one. I mean I have a Xbox one but I just assumed I guess. Edit: I guess he does have a ps4 as well, seems that he is a gaming monarch.
I have the major three home consoles and a PC. The reason I'm on Xbox One here is cos my brother's hogging the PS4 right now. That and whenever there's a multiplatform game, I prefer to go Xbox cos PS4 gets far more exclusives, and as such, the harddrive gets fuller much quicker.
I'm shocked you didn't mention Cassandra Lee Morris as Elora in the voices. I think that she is a big step up from the original she just brings a gentle, and cute charm to the character.
Fun fact Sheila's goat companions are actually voiced by the same guy who voiced them in the originals. He just changed up the voices for each individual goat
Please continue to make movie reviews on indiana jones and please make movie reviews on pirates of the caribbean! You are on of my favourite channels and i love watching your movie reviews🤘🏼
I've been wanting to try this game out so much, sadly I haven't really grown up with these games at all. Hardly grown up with PlayStation classics, and I've only played the first one like twice in my life and hardly finished it, but I have been curious to see some franchises like this. I have played and 100 percented Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on PS3, and was actually a pretty good platformer and collectible type of game. Never played a Crash Bandicoot game, though I would want to try one out. Ratchet & Clank, seems I only have the new one and hardly got to finish it. But Spyro, definitely want to give it try. Your review of this game made me more interested to give it go possibly soon. I could probably go Platinum on it too, like I did with the PS4 Spider-Man game, which was amazing by the way, don't know if you did, but would definitely want to hear your thoughts on that too. But yeah, great review on this, would definitely want to give it go. Can't wait to see more videos from you possibly daily. Keep up the good work, mate! ^_-
I played the third Elijah Wood Legend of Spyro game. That's all I played. And then I watched let's plays of the first two of that particular version of Spyro.
To be fair I think they dumber down the yeti boxing. I was SURE to expect to have to put down a new mortgage from destroying my house in rage at how cheap he’d be...but in one go, he went down. Both rounds. Thank GOD
I’m sure you must hate getting requests but...I’m gonna make a request. Please review the hobbit trilogy or fantastic beasts. I love going back to your old reviews and rewatching them and I’m craving new middle earth/Harry Potter analysis from you.
I was sort of baffled when I noticed that the difficulty in some boss and mini game levels remained untouched, some were seriously nerfed and in the rest, the difficulty actually made the boss fight feel almost Dark Souls level of challenging! I couldn't help but wonder, what's the consistency there? To give some examples: In Spyro 1 the boss fights felt more or less the same, if not even a bit easier (though I must admit there must be some changes in myself too, since the last time I played Spyro I was rather young and my hold on a controller might have gotten better over the years.) Then there was Spyro 2 where Crush was noticeably easier, Gulp fight was one of the hardest fights in the whole Trilogy (especially if you went for the skill point) and Ripto felt more or less the same as before. Maybe a tad bit harder, since Ripto's movements felt slightly faster at least for me, but I also might be imagining it! And to nitpick some more of the game mechanics, I really didn't appreciate what the developers did with the camera in some cases! In Gulp fight the camera is horrendous and there's not much you can do about it. And if you want the second skill point from the Gulp fight it might take you several good luck shots before you manage to hit your intended target, all because you have next to no control over the camera. And for some reason the developers decided it's better to leave the camera untouched in the Spooky Swamp Sheila level? Like... Why, why would you do that?! That mini game is challenging enough as it is in the original, and now that the camera doesn't zoom out and up slightly to give you better understanding of where the damn blind bombing brothers are going it takes you several tries and memorizing to accomplish the quest... TWICE! I don't know if it's just me, but moving in the water also felt way more challenging. I really cannot pinpoint if it's because of the camera, the fact that the atmosphere underwater is darker, or because Spyro's movements are slightly altered, but I remember that I used to be able to charge underwater for really long amount of time in the 90's and have complete control of Spyro as I turned and changed directions. Now it felt like I have to stop every once in a while and actually just paddle forward just to prevent myself from hitting walls all the time. I'm so sorry, but I just had to get that out of my system.
I think it's worth mentioning that thanks to the new automatic hover in Spyro 1, some difficult platforming sections can get super easy to skip. I saw Jacksepticeye pull off one of those and it pissed me off so badly considering the level of tought you had to put into getting to that ledge.
Skillshare is a good sponsor, hopefully both parties will benefit for the sponsorship. And Spyro remaster makes me really wish for a Switch release, Toys for Bob did an amazing job and you can feel through the entire game(s) that they love Spyro just like players do, it flows from the screen
I think Bentley’s camera is off-center for visibility reasons. He’s a big character, so it’s harder to see what’s in front of you. The original mitigated this by cleverly making his ice club clear so you could see more of the screen through it. Reignited did...this. I love your ideas for rewards they could’ve added! More than anything, though, I wish they’d ironed out all of the glitches. The skateboarding race in Lost Fleet, for example, doesn’t count half the laps you do, so getting the skill point is absolutely infuriating. They’ve had years to patch this.
Seeing Suspect finally get his first sponsor actually makes me really happy.
That's a good thing! Now he can make A New Hope review.
Same, he deserves it! :)
Congrats of your first official sponsor! Been around since your original spiderman series reviews!
Thanks so much! Yeah, this is hopefully gonna mean more videos from me and you guys seem pretty chill with them; so thank you!
8:01 this is like how in the Lego Batman movie they hired the guy who played Voldemort to voice Alfred but not have him also voice Voldemort, and the guy portraying Voldemort also sounded nothing like the original, he was all posh sounding instead of intimidating
Yeah I caught that too, but I was kind of expecting them to make a joke about it somewhere
I think the boss battles were a 'damned if they do, damned if they don't' type of situation. People found the first game's bosses boring and ask for them to be updated but if they had changed them there'd be so much nostalgia outrage from the fans for doing so.
Exactly.
I don’t even play spiro, just happy to watch your stuff
Same I was more of a crash bandicoot kind of guy. But screw it, ill take a new video.
Same.
Spyrograph
Same
JESUS CHRIST how do you mispell the name of the fucking game
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
You came a long way now that you got your first sponsor. Thanks for making me a long time subscriber!
I’m so glad you’ve got a sponsor you really deserve it
With or without skillshare, this video is edited extremely well. Genuine top tier content man. One of your best videos I have seen.
That Edgar Wright reference in the beginning was excellent
25:37 Yeah, that was something I couldn't help but notice. I really wish they had added a new cutscene before the final boss fight. I also would have liked another cutscene for when Spyro runs into the Sorceress in the Super Bonus Round level.
Suspect!! So glad to have you back! I love your movie and game reviews due to your humor and enthusiasm! You’re one of my favorite movie critics here on RUclips!! Hope you have a Happy New Year and can’t wait to see your new videos for 2019!!!! 💪💪😎😎

2) You are hilarious.
D) Your balance of review and comedy is awesome.
Glad to see you posting again! Welcome back!
Holy crud, I've played some old classics as a kid, but this game looks amazing! Thanks for showing me this game, and this series, Suspect. Good work!
@Gmail com
.
I'm hoping for a Sly Cooper remake or sequel.
Sly was a PS2 series with cell shaded graphics that still hold up really well, there's really no purpose in remastering it.
The one ps3 game ended on a cliff hanger if i rember right
Perfect timing on the 'for free?' joke. Not two seconds before had my wife taken a sip of coffee. Came back out through her nose, she laughed so hard. And congratulations on your first sponsor. Here's to more videos from you.

Good job, Ross 👍
Dude you are so underrated. Your content is amazing!! Keep up the spectacular work!
Best game/movie reviewer of all time in my opinion.
I love that you are still kicking and making vids, congrats on your first sponsor!! Ill be watching to the end.
I'm legit really happy you got a sponsor. I also agree strongly with the lack of extras and unlocks they could have added in.
At first I wasn’t so sure about sponsors, but if it means helping out the channel, I’m totally happy with em!
Why do your videos gotta be so freaking entertaining?!
I think I’ve found a new channel to subscribe to!
With all honesty, you have my respect. You criticize the game properly, have a genuine passion and I can easily understand the points you give. Hopefully if the game is re-released in the future, I hope it can be all on the disc.

Wow, thanks so much! That means a lot :)
Great review and congratulations on getting your first sponsor!

The Unusual Suspect, enjoyed watching your vids throughout this year.
Have a Happy New Year.
Was good man missed ya
Happy new year, buddy! You sir are just amazing! :)
Awesome review Suspect! I love your reviews. I actually might love your gaming reviews even more than your movie reviews, and I love those. You know what would be fun? A Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie remaster
i missed your voice so much welcome back and congrats on your sponsor
I honestly forgot about your channel, man, love the content
17:26 Yeah, I can vouch for that. In the 3rd world in the first game, I had to run around in circles to catch an Egg Thief.
It legit made me dizzy. I felt myself start to go a bit cross eyed.
Your a legend suspect
Are you saying Goldeneye in the N64 doesn’t hold up in certain areas? Because.....you’d be right
always good to see a video
That frustration towards the inability to not open that door is literally me when I couldn't go back inside that castle thing you find Sparx in EtD.
After hearing Sunny Villa in some of your movie reviews I was anticipating at least one Spyro review from you eventually and it didn't disappoint! :D
Now do Enter the Dragonfly.
Hell yeah!!!
Edit: 17:59 - That melody sounds a lot like the one in Rod Stewart's "Walking in the Sunshine". Much less annoying in the game than in that song!
It just always makes me happy when you upload
Love all your vids suspect but swear you hardly make any! Very glad you got a sponsor!
Really glad to see a new video
Don’t even play the game but always a pleasure to see a video from you
Your awesome like legit awesome
Awesome video suspect. Great stuff man. You never disappoint 👍
I'm glad I'm not the only thinking these games could of have more content added to them. I hope the developers do get to make a really good spyro 4.
the biggest problem with Bently, is his club is NOT see through in the remake, and it obscures a LOT of what is ahead of you. hence the offset camera. Yet even so, it's still obscures a lot of the screen.
“I wanna play through the game with those sweet shades on,” I think Toys For Bob must have been watching 😂
*Writing this before the review even started*
Good to see you again man, hope alls good, hope the holidays were merry and happy new years.
Keep ‘er lit mate:)
Toys for Bob made the spyro design you weren't ok with
He's not dead!!! Finally a review!!!
good to see you mate
Okay this video deserves way more views the it currently has.
Congrats on a SPONSOR!!!!!!!
So glad this lad finally got a sponsor.
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage was the first Playstation game I played as a 5 year old and it was the best Christmas gift ever!
This is my favourite The Unusual Suspect video
Spyro the Dragon 3 Year of the Dragon was one of the few PS1 games (other than a Jurassic Park fighting game, and some parts of Crash Bandicoot) I ever played as a kid. I was more of a PS2 kid and I still have my old system. Which still works even after a decade (maybe even more than that) of use!
I'm happy you found a sponser :)
Am I the only one who thought he’d have a ps4 instead of a Xbox one. I mean I have a Xbox one but I just assumed I guess.
Edit: I guess he does have a ps4 as well, seems that he is a gaming monarch.
I think he does have a PS4. He's reviewed Uncharted and The Order: 1886.
MajorThom wait, he has a ps4 and a Xbox? If he also has pc and switch, that makes him a gaming monarch

Never thought i'd live to see the day when I'm actually excited to see a sponsor
Spyruh. Love that Northern.
Please continue to make movie reviews on indiana jones and please make movie reviews on pirates of the caribbean! You are on of my favourite channels and i love watching your movie reviews🤘🏼
Our saviour has uploaded!
Welcome back it's been too long!!!!
I refreshed my notifications for RUclips and got this and was basically celebrating
Woohoo! The Unusual Suspect is back!
One of the best remasters in a long time
I've been wanting to try this game out so much, sadly I haven't really grown up with these games at all. @The Unusual Suspect Is that your R6 Siege gameplay at 16:52?
If so, you're a diamond?!? Well done
I played the third Elijah Wood Legend of Spyro game. That's all I played. And then I watched let's plays of the first two of that particular version of Spyro.
Spyro meant that I barely saw anything outside my basement between 2006 and 2007
Love watching ur videos ❤️
To be fair I think they dumber down the yeti boxing. I was SURE to expect to have to put down a new mortgage from destroying my house in rage at how cheap he’d be...but in one go, he went down. Both rounds. Thank GOD
Happy early new year
More uploads. Hell yeah. More movie reviews???????
Everyone knows the Gnasty Gnorc we fought at the end of 1 was only a minion made out of Gems! Its what makes it cooler if you ask me!
I’m sure you must hate getting requests but...I’m gonna make a request. Please review the hobbit trilogy or fantastic beasts. I love going back to your old reviews and rewatching them and I’m craving new middle earth/Harry Potter analysis from you.

I'm so sorry, but I just had to get that out of my system.
I love your stuff so much
Out of All Spyro Games
Year of the Dragon is my favourite
I'm hoping that next year, the Unusual Suspect will review the Hobbit Trilogy, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Good video I found it useful keep uploading more
I think it's worth mentioning that thanks to the new automatic hover in Spyro 1, some difficult platforming sections can get super easy to skip. I saw Jacksepticeye pull off one of those and it pissed me off so badly considering the level of tought you had to put into getting to that ledge.
Skillshare is a good sponsor, hopefully both parties will benefit for the sponsorship.
And Spyro remaster makes me really wish for a Switch release, Toys for Bob did an amazing job and you can feel through the entire game(s) that they love Spyro just like players do, it flows from the screen
also about your criticism of awards- cosmetics are always a problem in cut scenes so I'm not surprised they didn't implement them
Please do a checklist video of the things you listed that episode 7 could learn from the top 10 things the OT got wrong
28:13 flashbacks to crash purple and spryo orange.
Joining skillshare to keep my favourite RUclips critic alive :), and hopefully to learn some shit along the way.
I hope we'll see a sequel to this remake. A new spyro game with new gameplay, elements to unlock, etc...
If more ads/sponsors means that you can upload a review once a month, I’m all for it?
Congrats on the sponsor!
23:40 Fascinating!! The way he says it! XD
