Curator's Corner: Roland Freisler and The People's Court

HMTC’s museum and programming director, Dr. Thorin Tritter, talks about an often used image of Dr. Roland Freisler, the president of the Nazi’s People’s Court, highlighting the way Hitler created a separate judicial system, outside the constitutional framework of the law, to deal with “political offenses.” The talk also touches on the impact of the Nazi's Civil Service reform law, the Reichstag Fire Trial, and the trial of those involved in the July 20th plot to assassinate Hitler.
