      Thank you so much. Overall, sketch was approx 20 minutes and painting about 1 hour. Speeding up the drying process in between stages with hair dryer. This is a small size though (A5), larger artwork would have taken longer.

    colerase colored pencils work great for sketching as they are fairly easy to erase. Your painting looks so so pretty!

    Oh wow! This is beautiful! Amazing! ❤❤❤ You promised fun and you delivered, the brushstrokes and the vibrancy feel fun. And through each stage I was at the edge of my seat. Do yoy have any trouble to put paint over color? It doesn't look like it. I do struggle with it.

    Every time I watch a portrait tutorial I want to try it and everything seems understandable, but when I get to the actual painting, it becomes a mess so so so easily 😂 portraits in watercolor are indeed very difficult because you need to learn for sure how paint dries. I often freak out I went too dark too soon, start correcting and then it dries to basically a non visible layer 😢

    • @JaneBeata
      @JaneBeata  5 месяцев назад +2

      You're right about the learning process being a bit more tricky for video viewers. Clarity that comes from these information should help a lot, but to acquire the actual skill / being able to reproduce the process yourself, requires new connections between your brain (this part already understands the process) and your hand / eyes. This cannot be achieved without practice, you have to do it repeatedly (and yes, fail a lot) for those connections to be built. But it's so much fun also, don't give up, this is one of the best hobbies in the world :D (I might be biased...)

  • @TaraSueSalusso
    @TaraSueSalusso 5 месяцев назад +1

    Instead of using colored pencil, you might consider using watercolor pencils. it helps that they can wash away and add color to the image.

    • @JaneBeata
      @JaneBeata  5 месяцев назад +1

      You are right, that is also a good approach. They are also hard to erase, though. And in some paintings, I don't like that the sketch washes away too soon, I have to sometimes reinvent the lines. Regular pencil for me works good 99% of the time.

    • @Deedeedoodad
      @Deedeedoodad 5 месяцев назад +3

      I feel like watercolor pencils aren’t the best options because you could smear the entire sketch in the first layer. I use prismacolor col-erase pencils and those are much more resilient + erase fairly well and they’re not too obvious in the end.

    Nice drawing. Have you tried WATER color pencil ? It's easy to erase vs COLOR pencil. Your watercolor painting colors had so much red the subject appears to be a victim of a bloody accident. Try watercolor pencil to draw with, they dissolve in water.
