- I found a spot to camp close by, making it easy to head back into the sand dunes as the sun rose the next morning for more landscape photography.

As I walked in, I checked out the sky and tried to determine if I was going to get any sunrise colour and was up for dark, moody clouds over my scenes. This was going to impact the feel of the images I captured.
There seemed to be a blanket of the cloud high over the area, which dispersed the light from the sun, providing flat light without much contrast.
Despite the images I might have hoped to capture, I needed to shoot to the conditions and find scenes and compositions complemented by the type of light I had.
I was also hoping that the flies' intensity would not be as high as they were the previous even.
All of these had one thing in common. I could not control them. However, it was up to me to deal with the impact if I was going to have a successful landscape photography shoot.

The flies would have made me crazy.
Those morning skies are incredible. So dramatic! The mood of the first image is exactly how I recall my time in Death Valley, California 🙂
I was waiting for you to swallow a fly! Hahaha. Love those sand images from there Andrew. The colours and textures are fabulous.
Absolutely love that pano, Andrew. It has a hint of Namib about it.
You succeeded well. I reely like the drone shots also.
Pano was great Andrew. Hope all is well!
Incredible images! The drone stills were avant-garde in so many ways!
Gorgeous location. Beautiful images as usual. I love the panorama. Also love the abstract nature of the drone shots. Thank you for sharing.
"Can You Take Great Photos in Boring Light?" proceeds to shoot a gorgeous place with beautiful soft light and dramatic painterly sky...! :)
Beautiful images. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful scenery Andrew. My favourite image was the second crop of the still shot.
I appreciate you showing the RAW file and then the final edit! And yeah, sod those flies. I would have gone bat shit crazy!
Hi Andrew Marr. Your videos have been a great help for someone switching from street to landscape, so thank you. Being a Western Australian they have provided me with locations and instruction on how to shoot in those locations, this has enabled me to move forward and put my own interpretation on these locations. I am surprised that there is no video of the beautiful stream and waterfalls that run through Whistlepipe Gully, or have I mist it?
Wonderful images this week Andrew and well done sticking with it given all the company you had. Think I would have been driven to distraction if that was me
Great, mate
Great location Andrew, something I have'nt tried yet - shooting in sand dunes so must give it a go. Great images, thank you for sharing. Good old flies they don't miss you. hahahaha
There is no boring light!!!
Are you noticing any softness shooting at F22? .......
Wait, is that supposed to be bad light? 🤔
Murdoch crushed JC not Doris! Sheep, Sheep, Sheep! Give her nothing. A day is too long!
