Bro how the fuck do you only have 314 subscribers I watched this video and literally told my girl who’s sitting right across from me, I really like this dudes channel very well made and calming he’s got a life long subscriber. And then I looked and was totally blown away at 314!! You’re gunna have millions soon guaranteed.
I hit a lot of the same spots on a road trip i did a couple months back! I shot on CineStill 400D, 50D, and BWXX. The west coast really has some of the most beautiful views. Great work! Nice to find another Portlander making awesome photography videos!
Cinestill 400D seems to exhibit an odd color shift in the blue area, with blue skies often coming out a rather unnatural looking cyan. You see it here, but you see it in many other videos as well, so I doubt that is an artifact of processing or scanning error in this instance. It might be a by=product of cross processing the film in C-41 chemistry, but tracking that down would take more time and money than would interest me. If you like the overall color, saturation and contrast of 400D, consider Kodak Gold 200 in the alternative. Gold 200 is fairly similar. It also has a price advantage at $9/120 roll versus $15/120 roll for 400D. And since Gold is actually designed to be processed in C-41, any issue of cross-processing as skipped.
CineStill blues do come out different from what I can tell. I'm still learning how to develop my own film so there maybe some variance on my end, but you've noted that you see it in others. I do like Gold 200 as well and you make a compelling point economically speaking. Hopefully prices won't continue to go up any time soon so we can all keep enjoying shooting film. Thanks for watching!
I shoot 6x6 as well and only have the 75mm lens in my Bronica S2A and anytime I want to capture something where I need a wider view I shoot it in 2 sections and stitch in Lightroom. Excellent stuff, love the channel.
Some great images here and the last of your girlfriend is the money shot. If you don't take risks and push your boundaries, you stop growing. But do it safely. Like your vid's, really nice style you have and the pics are great too.
Hahah omg The only reason I can think of using crap like that is if I try to deliberately getting rid of resolution and file information. Awful look! Would’ve been looking decent with Kodachrome or Velvia. When we started out and only film was available you’d avoid that light/time of the year at any cost. These film stocks shine when used in darker scenarios where blending is needed. Great videos though boss. Everything comes down to taste I guess. I simply dislike that 400/800 iso in bright sunlight. It’s not art just because you’d wish it were
