Duramax LLY P1093 - Changing the Fuel Pressure Relief Valve in a Chevrolet Kodiak C4500

- Опубликовано: 6 фев 2025
- This Chevrolet Kodiak C4500 with the Duramax LLY derated and threw engine code 1093 "Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) low during power enrichment". This is typically either the FPRV (Fuel Pressure Relief Valve), or the FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator), We are replacing the Fuel Pressure Relief Valve first, since it's very easy to access on this truck.

Im having the same issues. I changed the fuel pressue actuater. Dealer recommended but it still does it.
I probably will have the same outcome....
I actually found the problem... It was the fuel pump
@@therealdeal3438Im having the same problem now I just ordered the relief valve but would the truck start with a bad fuel pump ?
@@Smwdbih914 yes it would. It started every time. Fuel pumps have solenoids and any thing with a solenoid can work randomly .
@@Smwdbih914 trust me it's ur fuel pump. I had the same symptoms as you.
I’m not a Chevy guy, but what a cool rig. I always loved the hybrids between a pickup and a full on tractor. Pulling the dog house reminds me of working on my dads old Chevy Conversion Van. Couldn’t get to a thing under the hood 😂
Yeah, I'm gonna start a movement to mandate doghouses in all vehicles by 2025.
@@ProjectTimeGarage Brian 2024 😂
Ive always thought the Kodiaks were cool, growing up as a car guy but after putting a new cp3 and soft lines in an 06 RV chassis with only 50k miles i changed my mind lol. The doors open like 50 degrees because of the body mounted mirrors. The corvette hood is a pain to work onThe bumper catches you every time you maneuver into the engine bay. The build quality is crap. It has a long history of melted wires and chafed wires since new. They routed the loom through a radiator hose to fix this. New pigtails and connectors spliced in. Thank god it was a dealer who did proper repairs but still, this is BS. Shouldnt have wire harness issues on a medium duty truck. The dog house access really surprised me as well. Its huge and behind the engine unlike most vans. I cant fit my hand to do plugs on a e450 7.5 open doghouse.
I am assuming this didn't fix you issue due to the race plug that was installed cannot fail. No failure point "relief" Keep us updated please. I have the same truck "single Cab" with same issue. Thanks
Hey Vince. So far it's doing fine, but that really doesn't mean it's fixed. This problem was sporadic at best. If it does it again, I'm going for the fuel pressure regulator, which I don't look forward to. I'll definitely do a video on it, though.
Hi Project, did this fix the problem? Do you have a tune?
Yes, this did fix the issue. I don't have any tunes on the truck. All stock.
Nice truck and I have a question where can I get that decal that you have on the back of the starion
Shoot me an email.
@@ProjectTimeGarage ok
To bad its still a Chevy.
Yep
Could be worse, it could be a ford🤣 and even worse a dodge😭
