Demi really held back and let Noah shine. The times they lifted to mic and then put it back down is when they were supposed to come in and then chose not to.
I dont think it was for spotlight per se (even though that indirectly happened). Demi has been doing this long enough to know that going full throttle against a softer singer is going to take away from the song and the feeling. Demi also has a lot of softer, stripped back songs as well so it isn't completely foreign to her. ❤
