@@fitheflea9091 Honestly, people are acting like she hadn't been raw, powerful, and vulnerable. LIKE ARE THEY BRAND NEW TO HER OR SOMETHING??!?! It's like they've only heard her boppy type songs and not the ballads which she makes the most meaning and raw. It's sad... But I'm glad my girl is back and hopefully she'll start getting more recognition for her powerful lyrics and songs!!

I agree. I also don't see how it's any different than making music about one's love life. There are some popular artists that are known for that.
I think the same way, this is such a great album every single song is full of meaning and artistry, we wouldn't have this album if she didn't let her feelings, struggles, experiences, etc come out

There are so many artist who profit off of their trauma. A lot of art is this. Because it speaks to others. People can do what they want with their own trauma- because it’s their trauma and no one else’s.

Your so right Georgina. This song is not dated at all I feel that some people are missing point. Demi Lovato went through alot in her time to come out and produce a track that highlights what she went through is powerful and inspiring. It's a unique and emotional song 🎵 and I feel like it could resonant during this pandemic.
Other than Sorry Not Sorry, i think this is Demi’s best song. It’s so raw, honest, and vocally fantastic.

she is walking us through everything that happened that night and after it. exactly what she said in the documentary we saw here. following her through this journey from the beginning and knowing everything she been through makes this so much more harder to watch. im proud of how far she has come and i know her impact on people have became bigger from her sharing her story
I'm crying because I know what alcoholism/addiction and overdose is like. Hers was H mine was M. M just made me done, empty, lost, no hope...I actually OD'd on all my pills because of my M use. I was just where she was in in the ICU hospital 2019. 2 years clean, 18 months sober.

I cannot stop crying because through your music I can feel the pain. It must not be easy to do this video, sing this song, talk about what happened... I don’t have the words to say to just know that I’m glad she ia alive she is a survivor
So raw and open. Good on her for facing it head on and this will hopefully touch the heart of someone who needs that extra push to get help.
I exactly understand what you mean by saying that it is hard to watch. And i saw the first episodes of the new documentary too and i think for everyone who saws it it was hard to watch. Because we had the story that Demi told us and we hat to visualize it for our selves but now to get the whole thing recreated is just a next level.
The scenes with the guy (her former dealer) is a reference to the case of assault that happened that night... Demi talked about it in the documentary..
This is one of the heaviest music videos I've ever watched. It's so emotional, uncomfortable and powerful at the same time. It really is their best work imo!

this was hard to watch but i imagine it was even harder to film... i don't understand people criticizing it if it's her way of dealing with what happened, it can be cathartic for some people
I love Demi Lovato's voice and when she is singing about her life and something as serious as her addiction and almost dying that takes alot of heart and you can hear the soul in each one of her lyrics. Im a recovering addict and ive been through so so much,so alot of her music hits home for me.
I love this song and video but I won’t watch it too many times. It’s so raw and intense that it leaves me exhausted and reflecting on my own traumas. I think that’s the point of it. I love the new album.

The documentary made this easier to watch because it timelines it. Both the doc and this is powerful and the best she’s ever done xx
I hadn't thought about how it makes you feel uneasy but yeah, the video is equally as tense as the actual song, they match really well, and I like that they decided to sort of reenact the entire thing. Excellent writing, and an excellent video to go with it
I dont think it sounds dated, but I do think it reminds me of Skyfall by adele and that might be why some people think it is dated.
The end made me cry where they wipe her neck and survivor is written there! 😭💜

@ honest vocal coach my take on the video is that the vocal it is stunning stunning stunning and one of the best videos she has ever done if not the best so empowering to show people what she went through however I do agree with some of the commentary about it being dated reminds me of something similar to Her single heart attack back about a decade ago but as I say the vocal and the video are stunning
I love this never really listened to her music prior but i cant stop playing it...the biggest thing for me is that the incident is from 2018 she didnt wait a month and put it out like she was recovered in a month. You know if it took this long to come to terms with the events of that night than it really was a wake up call...
