Her stamina is insane....she can sustain a note for 13-16 seconds, and she was sustaining A5s LIVE every night on her last tour. My god I would collapse if I ever did that

her improvement throughout the years really impresses me. not many artists improve with age but she does and it is amazing. she is finding her voice and sounds better than ever. her tone even sounds better and a bit smokier

I'm obsessed with demi and her voice I try to sing but it's so hard and whenever I do Infront of people I usually sing flat and can't hit half the notes I can at home. Anyways great video definitly subscribing!!
Singing in front of people messes with your brain! Everything’s a blur, your voice is tight, and you always pick a lightspeed tempo! 😂

I wish you guys would react to the live performance at the premier. She really have so much emotion with that one that I feel doesn’t get more real than it does with that first performance.
Demi can hold notes for an intense amount of time. sustain a note for 13-16 seconds and was holding A5s live on her last tour every night. if you listen to one of her older songs heart attack, it's a note that she does in it that's pretty famous and to this day people are attempting to try. it's amazing especially after the overdose and almost dying her voice keeps improving

btw her frist performance of this song was INCREDIBLE too so i'd love to watch u reacting to this one (it's a live acoustic performance)

Another vocal coach I’ve watched pointed out that in the chorus, there’s actually an octave jump between « know » from « closer than you know » and « playing » from « playing with the enemy. So not only is she starting her sentence on a high note which requires preparation, she was also singing an octave lower just beforehand

Hi guys :) I must say that I was fascinated by your reaction !! I love to see vocal reactions on Demi's songs and even more when they are reactions of people like you with those voices🔥🔥 Now, Demi has a darker and nasal voice color, but it is still AMAZING how she sings live and how she transmits😋 I couldn't help it and I did my cover of Dancing with the Devil lol I hope you like it! ;)

True! She also probably worked with someone to sing with more efficient technique. I know Adele did that after her vocal surgery.
She has some great runs. Here are some other artists that will give you lots to analyze. Hi thank you so much for this reaction as a lovatic myself you guys made my day and also in this performance she had an infection which caused her to not hit all the notes she was suppose to hit which she has done in her other lives from this song... so can you pls react to her performance of dancing with the devil tik tok live (its on RUclips by the way)
A live performance is great, and someone may have already said this but the official video is powerful.
she had a sinus infection during this performance so that’s probably why she sounded particularly nasally here
Wow! Thanks for the info, I wish I could sing like that when I am sick! We think in order to have good clarity and power, you NEED the nose. So it definitely didn't sound off to us. 😀

i’ve always wondered why i’ve felt my voice felt so basic, i’ve always struggled with stuffy noses so i’m kinda unable to sing with nasality
Not necessarily! We had a friend in college that couldn’t breathe through their nose at all since birth and he figured it out and sang beautifully! Keep trying! 😊

She dropped a couple of the high notes in the last stretch for this performance. No shame. You should check out the video for all the high notes! Also there's been two other live performances I've seen where she hits all of the high notes. She's been performing this song a lot lately and that note is really high for a belt so I completely understand why she would make that choice.

I feel like her voice actually got raspier the more she’s sung throughout the years so maybe there is a voice health aspect going on even though she sounds incredibleeeeee. Like I cannot believe she hadn’t won a Grammy yet

idk if you guys know this about her but she had a overdose (heroin) back in 2018 resulting in two strokes, a heart attack and mutiple organs failire and then CAME BACK with this vocals.. she rested her voice for about 2 years and came back from all the sh*t she gone throught so much better it's insane because she was already an amazing vocalist. She's a strong and talent artist! i love her sm ( can you guys react to her singing 'The art of starting over' from her new album on tiny desk concert? pls)

She was a little sick during this too, should check out her tik tok one it’s amazing ! Or the Grammy 2020 performance. I think the part we forgot some people are just gifted vocally can do things others can’t like xtina voice or mariah and so on .

At the end of her last tour she sometimes wasn't able to hit that stuff anymore. When she sang fall in line with Christina aguilera, she sounded so so so tired. But on tour she seemed to always get through powerful.

That break, airy, smoky vocal thing you mentioned is something I hear in the more talented upper ranged singers. The most obvious one to me is Mariah Carey. You'll hear it a lot in her music. The pinch, the squeak. Tori Kelly has that quality too. Demi, along with these two share that raspy or airy quality to their voices.
