This song by far is one of her best. She said in interviews that she will never sing this live because she gets so emotional and overwhelmed. This was the first take of the song which she done on her laptop which is why not the best quality. This was incredibly sung imagine if it was sung with a good mic this would of been incredible

She sang it live already. Its the song with her speaking with her son, she said she will, never, be able to perform in front of anyone. Too emotional.

To be loved (to me) is on the level of some of the great Celine/Whitney ballads. Incredible track.
And she wrote it! Truly a songstress, as well as a vocalist
Signing along with the phrase “To be loved” and butchering it, gives me the same feeling as singing “and I” with Whitney
NOT EVEN CLOSE .Celine is forever aware of being seen and ponders to the audience and Whitney really didn't seem to connect with the audience. In addition those two women did not write their songs. If you didn't write then one can never match a singer who writes their own songs.
And Miles keep this in mind. Adele writes from pain so.butchering her song puts you on another level of appreciation of her work.

Whitney in her prime cannot be touched by almost no one...Adele, altough she is great, is not even close to her even though she writes her own songs. I really love the “bop-less” music on 30. Adele has created a masterpiece.
An album truly for her fans, not the mass appeal of sales and charts. Just Adele making another masterpiece for us.
And this is why Adelle has such huge mass appeal amongst such a diverse fan base. A fan base that crosses so many ages, males and females, generations, and genres!! She is just incredible!
I believe it's because of the massive promotion. Even bad acts with massive promotion have had multi million dollar careers.
Love In The Dark and To Be Loved are Adele’s best songs.
And her truly saddest ones like someone like you and other songs like it are sad but these two are depressing
I love the voice of Pattie Labelle and Whitney Houston. And now, Adele has joined my top vocalists of all time. She could literally sing the phone book and I would be amazed. Her notes are superb, but what is amazing I feel every note each & every time I hear her song. She has an anointed gift. No one can compare to her style, her lyrics, her voice. She's in a league all by herself. Just like all the greats.
She’s not technically as good as them but, tonally, she’s close for sure.
This is Adele at her most raw. Even though this is the only way we have some kind of live performance as she will never perform it live it’s something so beautiful
She doesn't need to explain to anyone anything about her divorce...You just have to listen to this song, how she put all her emotions in her voice and lyrics is something BEYOND
When she posted this on her Instagram it’s as if everything stopped and we all just listened… that is the power she has. The lyrics. The melody. The passion. There’s so much going on that makes this one of if not her best song ever. You cry because it just hits like that… that’s adele’s gift…❤️❤️❤️

Adele’s vocal dynamics, control, vibrato, riff/runs are so incredible on top of having a beautiful and powerful voice. Her tone is so warm, soulful, and smooth. She can express so much emotions when she sings.

Its hard to believe humans/life wasn't created when some peoples vocal chords were made so they produce a sound like Adeles. She has truly been blessed by something higher than us. Im so proud to be British when we've got people like her representing us.

Damn, this song has to be the most emotional song of the album.
And the extra lenth is very evocative of how the writting on the album is made to the songs to breathe, every lyric to sit in your heart when you listen to it.
She's really one of a kind.
Its a masterpiece, one of the greatest songs ever recorded. You have to go thru it to reach that level, the same as George Michael for Older. I don't know how you smiled instead of breaking down like I do each time this song comes on, tho given both my Bunnies died in lockdown despite my efforts to save them might have something to do with it, this matches my screams all year x
Its fitting this is the LP of 2021 really. Its been a lot.
Older came out 13 May 1996 that wasn't so fitting, the 90s were fun, not for George tho bless him. He was born 1963, so Older was released just before his 33rd - 3 years after the death of his partner. Adele was born '88, so is now also 33 and her LP came out 3 years after her separation. George said he never wanted to make an LP like that again given what it took. Adele sings to go thru such again would be the ending of her. The irony being, 30 is in same league as Older & Back to Black (30 is better than Frank). These don't come around that often, 96, 06, 21. Adele loved Frank & George Michael & thats the trinity x
Masterpiece, this for me is all what Adele is about, Stunning vocals, heartfelt lyrics and a genuinely believable rendition. Superb.
The thing about this song is that as she said she will never be able to sing it live because she gets too emotional and makes her storm out of the room. She wasnt even sure if she should include it in the album. So thats why she uploaded this video, which she recorded during her sessions with tobias jesso jr. Its basically -probably- the only performance we are going to get of this song
Went though a divorce at the time this album was released and i can’t even listen to this song without ugly crying despite hearing it 30+ times… can’t imagine actually having WROTE It and trying to sing it live. Sob city.

Adele may be the 1 person idc if she never produces a "bop" and I'll still be here for all of it. But I feel she has already. Right as Rain, Waiting For You, Rumor Has It, Send My Love are all uptempo bops for me

I almost didn’t make it. She had me cringing and crying. Loud and lovely Adele.
I know she’s said she would never sing this song live, but if she had did this one over I drink wine at the Brit Awards it would have pushed the 30 album even further in the charts, sales etc.

Georgina!! This was a brilliant review of a brilliant song. When I first heard this song about 2 weeks ago I could barely make it through it-was that shatteringly emotional and true for me. We have all been there, and the older we get we have more things to say "I tried' for......To let go of, look at the rear view mirror as it gets smaller, yet is lodged in our heart, sometimes sharply so. I feel this song in particular puts Adele in a small group of soulful singer/songwriters who break our hearts. Reminds me of when the late and great George Michael came out with "One Last Try"-a true WOW moment. And that was then-when there honestly was so much musical creativity and diversity and fantastic singers and songs on the scene. Today? Adele stands out like a freakin' lighthouse in the swallow end of a kiddie pool with popular music today (with a few exceptions). She knows it. God bless her. And God bless you, sweetheart. If this isn`t pure talent ,and genius songwriting ,i don`t know what is.No gimicks ,no auto tune.(most so called singers today rely on both) just pure vocals and a piano for accompaniment.Powerful stuff.Beautiful ,just beautiful.

It supposed that she didn't hit the note on purpose. If you have listened the studio version, she did the same! From the bridge to the end of the song, she starts to sing almost without technique. It's like she's crying out the song. She said she won't sing this song on Live

Ok! It’s not a “ dirty “ or “ skanky” tone ti her voice. It’s a jazz and blues basis! Adele has a history of appreciation for Jazz and Rhythm Blues from her time spent in the American South.

I love the CD version but wow hearing this with no auto tune or effect is just spectacular. What a God given talent. I find it funny that there are many women who can sing circles around Adele, but most people listen to Adele over and over again. Her voice captivates millions of people and we don't care if she cannot hit high notes.
Adele sings with her soul. That's why we connect with her. There are many singers who can do vocal acrobatics yet we don't feel it.

@@lindseyshelton9591 there are multiple pop women who have a more healthy singing technique (and wider range) than Adele. (one that comes up at the top of my head is Beyoncé, Adele herself would attest to that). Though at the end of the day, who you enjoy and who you connect to is mostly subjective.
