@@michaelcorenzwit716 I also appreciate Krantz, he's really an amazing guitarist, but technically there is very little resemblance to Gilad's style, besides that Gilad is more of a contemporary jazz musician, while Krantz built his entire career around fusion. Both are great musicians in any case, and listening to them is always highly recommended!
I actually attended the "same" concert 7 days later when they performed in the Hnita Jazz Club in Heist-op-den-berg (Belgium). Same excellence as in this video and absolutely great to see it again, brings back good memories.
There be some pretty exciting jazz musicians in the world today... taking things new places, keeping it all honest. These three are all over it! Gilad is new to me, but hey, I found him and now I know...
Sublime trio! Deeply felt and superbly realized, in a live performance. From the start one senses controlled, immense power. Wonderful musicians! The best musical experience in my recent past. Nice when Few Zhon is danceable. Music for listeners, not just the players. (I really loved the way the drummer divides the beat. Intricate, but not egoistic, even as finely he went into it. Like string theory.) Highly recommended! h/t to my beloved son Abraham.
It appears the drummer is Jonathan Pinson. Really like his playing but it took me an hour of searching to find out his name. Giland, introduce the guys once in a while.
This is best, when you just listen and ignore the Picture. The always moving camera and and the random cuts are so annoying... Great music but no fun to watch...
I realize this is a very superficial thing to say, but I'm just thinking it seems odd to play like that while sitting in a chair onstage. Well, at least they're not using music stands.
You massively under appreciated him. It’s a trio setting, it’s a great opportunity to play around with sounds. And Gilad isn’t a “good player” he is a fucking beast man
This is sooooo good The drummer is a monster player for appearing to be so young.
Wow, this is amazing! First time I've heard anything of Gilad. And his drummer and double-bass player are also amazing!
The rhythm section catches on so quick to what ever Gilad throws at them
What a genius! no one has ever sounded like that
Listen to Wayne Krantz.

I absolutely love it when jazz sounds the way it's supposed to sound.

But which one looks cooler?
Depends on the situation. Small stage trio, standing. Large stage, sitting.
pedals m8, loopers, volume, distortion, delays, etc
Halsweh oder Nacken 😉
whats up with all that shit attached to his guitar?
piezo pickup mounted on the ouside of the guitar
Good player but .... are all the antics necessary? Simple answer ... no
Gene C what antics?
