15 Minute TARGETED Glute Workout - Dumbbells | Caroline Girvan

  • GLUTES ON FIRE in 15 minutes! Focusing on not just lifting the weight, but the movement pattern from the bottom right to the top of the movement! Contracting of the glutes at the top, slow release to lengthen when the exercise calls for it! Variations include of course isometric holds, small pulses and 1/2 reps, bodyweight only, unilateral work and banded!
    For this glute focused 15 minute workout, you will need a dumbbell (or larger kettlebell or barbell), a chair/bench for the hip thrusts and a glute band (the higher the resistance generally the better!). I also use a towel to place under my dumbbell during hip thrusts for comfort.
    The dumbbell I am using throughout is 25kg!
    The timer will be on throughout for 50 seconds of work, 10 seconds rest!
    Each set of hip thrusts will vary however once we reach the sumo squats towards the end, it will be 3 sets of that exercise!
    HIP THRUST FULL RANGE
    HOLD (THRUST ON BEEP)
    SMALL PULSES!
    1/2 REPS!
    STAGGERED THRUST (one side)
    SWITCH SIDE
    SINGLE LEG HIP THRUST
    PARTIALS (same side)
    SINGLE LEG HIP THRUST (switch side)
    PARTIALS (same side)
    BODYWEIGHT BANDED THRUST!
    SUMO SQUAT (pause at bottom)
    SUMO SQUAT (pause at bottom)
    SUMO SQUAT (pause at bottom)
    FINISHER:
    30/30
    SUMO 1/2 REPS W/DUMBBELL
    BODYWEIGHT ONLY!
    When it comes to glutes, for me it’s less about the weight you lift, it’s about that mind to muscle communication and connection. Constantly ‘thinking’ during each rep about lifting solely with the glutes!
    To an extent, try to relax during the hip thrusts! Aim to lift through the glute only!
    I tilt forward more during the sumos but this is your own preference! I like to change my positioning often so as long as back is straight, chest open and tilting forward from the hips then you can tilt forward to however feels comfortable for you!
    A quick bit intense session to hit those glutes!!! A perfect workout to save for when you want a quick glute workout!

      That’s a good point! Never thought of it that way, but it definitely annoys me when I don’t hear everything a trainer says. So the less talk, the more you can focus on the work.

    I almost didn't do this workout because I was so exhausted. But I told myself it was only 15 minutes and I completed it Alhamduillah.

    Saturday mornings have now become the time for an intense glute workout! This one is only 15 minutes but I can feel the burn already! 11 minutes of hip thrust variations will be tough...but how great we will all feel at the end!       Good morning, Matthew! Hope you enjoyed your time in the university yesterday! This one is a treat! Saturdays are rigorously my full rest days, to immerse my body in rest before vigorous sunday's HIIT workouts. But I couldn't resist this one, it just looked so much fun- and despite the constant burn, it trully was. Only 15 minutes but my glutes were on absolute fire - one million times said, Caroline is sooo talented!
      Afterwards I didn't do the add-on but 45 minutes of yin yoga to really deepen my stretches.
      Later I am planning a walk, it will be snowing:) Have a lovely day and see you tomorrow!

      Hi Caroline...hi everyone....all finished and I really enjoyed this! Those hip thrusts burn...but it’s a great feeling at the end...and by the time you get to the Sumos your hamstrings are so tired! Great 15 minute workout!     Caroline's glute workouts are always challenging for me from holding on dumbbells properly to pushing my knees out with band...really this session not only requires our body but our mind as well to focus on pushing the knees out ....I'm always like Caroline said push the knees out and really it works ....and I did the add on too knee friendly no jumping so good....enjoy ur lovely weekend everyone

    I still love coming back to these "shorties" on days where I either don't quite have the time (or the discipline/energy!) to get through a full series workout!     So great! This is the first time I finally got the “system” down for doing those thrusts with my back on a bench, balancing two 25 lb dumbbells on my lap. Previously I had a hard time balancing and doing it properly. Now that I have it figured out, I had such a great and effective glute workout! Even though this was only 15 minutes, my glutes are ON FIRE!

    I have been studying to complete my degree which I'll be able to complete till March and been preparing for a job interview that can happen any time in the next 4 or 6 months since morning. This glute workout is the best way to oil my hip joints lol. It's difficult to move when I'm focused.

      Hi...this is definitely a killer glute workout! The repeated hip thrusts really burn deep into the glutes but it’s a great feeling to push on to the end!       They were definitely activated Devansh 😱😱 ouch ouch ouch😂😂 the variety of hip thrusts were tough with a lot of 🔥🔥 but so good. I love sumo squats so when it was over I was aaahhhh.... disappointed I could have gone on to do a few more. Most effective 15 spend. Have fun and enjoy🔥🔥

    Wow my glutes were working a lot today. I did the add on after this 15 minutes and was deceiving, because the majority is bodyweight, but when I reached the RDL with dumbells, my legs were shaking! Thank you Caroline, you make my day sharing workouts daily, is my highlight of the day 🤩

    Fantastic I used a 25kg barbell as the 20kg was being used at the gym and I survived! I will continue using 25kg.... and I just want to say I have pretty much been using 20kg for a very long time..i started with 15kg, moved to 17.5 then 20kg for along time. Time i moved to 25kg! Thanks Caroline 😍

    Done today is my first day of period I am so afraid to do this workout but I dared to my self and do this workout and I am done this exercise so happy but I used 16 kg dumbbell not 25 kg thanks Caroline you are the queen of my life

    Wow 15 minutes of pure glute burn 🔥 for this superb Caroline Christmas gift this morning. 11 minutes of hip thrusts are definitely going to test the stamina on the glutes today. It's amazing what you can achieve in 15 when you have such an awesome coach to guide you 💜🧡😃. It's going to be a great workout. Looking forward to getting started. Time to rise and smile 😃👍👍👋

      @@matthewalmond8274 Hi Matthew 👍 yep really enjoyed this one 😊💯. The partial hip thrusts were a definite burner!! I used my heavy glute band and 17.5kg weight so really felt this one. Will definitely revisit it. I like the knee friendly leg workout, as you say nice to go back in time, unfortunately I didn't have time this morning 😟.
      We're having horrid weather here so a day for being indoors, even Willow isn't keen!! 🤣🤣. Looking forward to tomorrow's surprise. Cardio or HIIT 🤔🤔 I wonder?? Catch up later.

      So did I Jenny. Was dreading going into it as was expecting more band work 😱😱 but really enjoyable. Surprised myself how strong on the wall sits I have become. A few months I would be a quivering mess!! So thanks to Caroline my lower body is getting stronger 💪💪

    Definitely a nice short spicy one! These short workouts are awesome for busy days and the holiday season! But I will admit I miss those 40 minute workouts too -- a good sign! ;) I would also love for there to be a "glute activation" kind of warm up video we could optionally tag onto the beginning of a glute workout, like how you do with the warm-up videos! Loving all these, Caroline! Looking forward to tomorrow!

      Came back to this! Felt that burn especially in the first half ! Those sumos did activate my lower back a bit, but overall a nice quick glute burn!
