quite alot of people dont know this but if you crouch and hold the Dodge/Sprint button you will do a fast paced crouch allowing you to get behind enemies faster!

As a souls veteran. I can say learning every enemies tactics is about 50% of the skill. Everything else is timing. Trust me. Itll come as it goes along. And every souls player farms. So this helps us too. Thank. Keep up the good work.
Ong bro but this is not dark souls if u was a vet like myself it would help you but you need to forget most of the stuff u learned in ds if u try to use anything other than timing and learning the enemies movement ur not gonna improve. I learned this while fighting margit.....

The portal you found was actually marked on my map after I got my first deathroot and spoke to a weird knight about it. If you feed the deathroot to the weird creature in the building you got teleported to you get items.
Yeah, D in Roundtable Hold tells you how to get there. I think some people find it on accident before that though when they see the blue light in the bushes behind the church. There's also a half dead dragon in the area you can slay for 50k Runes(more with the Gold Scarab and/or Gold Pickled Fowls Foot); takes a long time if you don't have a Bleed weapon to deal a percentage-based burst of damage.

@@vlonelyxo Once you teleport from the Third Church of Marika to the Bestial place where you turn in Deathroot you should find him if you scout the roads back near Fort Farroth. Grab a bleed weapon and slash the tail, away from all other enemies. It's 50k base souls, more if you add the Gold Scarab and Gold Pickled Fowl's Foot.

Find a boss that you dont struggle with and place your summon sign. Ive been placing mine at the capital boss(not spoiling who) and i got 1 million runes in about 2 hours

Thank you for posting this. Has really helped me to go up 5 levels on Endurance and 3 levels on strength and buy essentials. It definitely makes losing 10,000 runes less painful.
One of my favs for casters is the small lake with the 2 smaller dragons in it close to the grace point at Dragonbarrow Fork, which is close to the north part of Caelid. You can stand on the cliff, yeet rocks at them, and get around 5k runes per dragon. Can easily farm 15k in about 5 min if you get the last one hiding near the downed tree.
Also there is the dragon maybe fifty feet north I think as long as you have bleeding damage you can just swing on it for a little get 5 dragon garments and if you take a pickled foul foot befor killing it you will also get 64k runes but nothing will attack ack you do it

Just so everyone is aware, it's not that Site of Grace (Lake North) in particular that gives you the mount. I got mine at the one right next to the castle gate. I believe the event is just triggered after your first few Sites are rested at. It doesn't have to be that one. Also, I'm pretty sure he's sneaking up and hitting R1 to use his sword, not L1 (which would use his shield).
You are right on the R1.. not sure if I said L1. You also have to stop moving for a moment before hitting R1 for it to trigger right sometimes

@@yukimikuoafter giving him 1 death root he gives you an eye. The eye quivers when you get close to a death root so just look out for it
@@yukimikuo If you explore the map you should be able to eventually find more of the skeleton boat mini-bosses, which the eye quivers to and every time you defeat one you get a Deathroot. Hope that helps!
There is a spot I've found; it's a single enemy about 30 yards from a site of grace. Location is the Divine Tower of Caelid: Basement just past the area in your video. He drops almost 1800 runes. He only takes about 48 seconds to kill by simply using jump strong attack 3 times until he falls down and hit him with a critical attack. He will one hit you, so you have to stun lock him like I described, but I've got it down perfectly. I'm only level 20, so it's not too bad

Use the grace at Lenne's Rise go down the "hill" until a ball spawns stand close to the cliff, let the ball fall down(very important is to watch the ball while it falls down) +2k runes tp to Lenne's Rise and repeat until you have as much as you want, dont know if its faster than this but its definitely easier
You are so close to a much better ruin farm site. If you take the lower path to the other side of the bridge through some poison traps there is a site of grace for Lenne's rise (by a sealed tower). From there if you go down the hill following the path under the bridge a bolder will spawn behind you just before you reach the bridge and follow you. It can easily one shot you early game, but if you use your mount and turn around to your right running back up along the edge of the cliff right after it spawns it will run off the edge of the cliff trying to chase you and give you 1952 ruins, then you can just run back to the site of grace and run down the hill again. Easily twice as fast to ruin farm as this video and you can do it just as early.

If you get your intelligence up to about 20, get the meteorite staff and learn glintstone pebble, you can flatten them within one flask of mana.

@@JohnDoe-pk5ev just east of the lake in the starting area. There's some ruins with toxic plants. There's some stairs leading underground near them, a small dungeon and an easy boss to unlock a vendor.
Or just sneak up behind and then do like 900+ dmg and then 1 more swing as they get up.
Meteorite staff takes 18 Int, but 20 is a good solid number.

This turned out to be the best rune farming for me thus far. Never got so many runes in a short amount of time before. Was able to do a good bit of levelling up because of it. Cheers.
Don't know if anyone has found it yet. But if you go to the impassable bridge in caelid. There are soldiers that fight the dog/wolf things. You can lead an alpha and two more plus the bird guy if you're careful. Hop up on the farthest cliff and let them fight. Great farming area and low to mid risk.

There’s a bowling ball thing up north from there that gives you 2000 and it kills itself
Then you just teleport back to the checkpoint thing which is 5 seconds from there and do it again.
You can get like 6000 runes in under a minute with no risk or skill needed.

Great video and awesome detailed instructions! This did not take long at all. The Flask of Wondrous Physick with your combo is great bonus as well. I'm only level 21 and this is going to help me to level up quick. The little guys were not that easy at my level unless they do not get off that special attack. If they get off that special attack, it was one shot death. Once I got down how to sneak up on them properly all was good :) Thank you so much.
Do you know if there’s a reason I can’t use my flask of wondrous physick? It has the 1 under it and I press down on the d-pad and it just makes a click noise and doesn’t use it

Thanks so much. This is awesome & great find! Was kind of overwhelmed by the open world & not knowing where to go/ start. I know that's a big part of what makes this game great but I almost miss the Dark souls linear (ish) push to certain areas & guide me to where I need to go. This area & guide helped me practice my patience & be rewarded well for the time put in.
It's too open world. I hate stumbling onto insane enemies
you and me both. I found some direction by just trying to clear out gatekeep ruins for a while, then i looked up some builds and went with spell blade. got the spells, tried the boss, dead, got the gear tried the boss, dead, then finally realized i could use followers and felt dumb. i got that mofo to 4-5 carrian slices from death so many times without the shackle or any summons, but it probably helps to have been through that. now ive done more research and know which OP early game weapons and what i need to replace them with.
im gonna do some exploring tonight. i wanted to b line to getting some amount of power together so that the starting areas arent as grueling

Try to lure the mobs like (dogs or bird, etc.) to the knights. And you'll gonna watch them fight and receive the runes easily.

Not mine. Mine was bloodborne which many will argue is one of the hardest if not the hardest soulsborne games. Got my kicked ferociously several times on that game, gave up on it, came back to it several months later, which is when I finally picked up on it. Now the game is platinum for me DLC trophies included
@5:26 No, go inside the building after entering the portal. There is a site of grace in there. When you rest, Melina (or someone) visits you and takes you to The Hold. There's also some thing chained up in there that asks you for deathroot. Not sure about it. It doesn't attack you though and neither does the statue of you leave it/them alone

You can farm 5000 runes at the field of giants near the warmaster's shack pretty easily using mounted combat. The nearby grace site makes for quick mob resets too so you can repeat the process to your heart's content

It’s actually about 9000 cause there is 9 of them and you get 1000 each time. Super easy while mounting.
They also hit eachother so if you aggro ten all they'll kill eachother for you

Dont bother. This gets you at least 9k runes every minute if you arent just sneaking around. Using Glintstone pebble I used 1 flask and killed 9 of them by this grace site. There are more too but I was in a hurry. You could easily be getting 10k runes from this farm each 60-90 seconds.

Literally 30k in an hour you’re a god. The potion isn’t even necessary after a certain point
Well for those who don't know there was also a semi dead dragon boss just ahead the dragon on the bridge across the tree to the west, it was gaurded by small dragons, u can sneak in with the horse and kill it to get some fast runes, better to get the gold pickled foul finger, as it gives 30% boost to runes drop and the morning star weapon, cos it builds over the bleeding damage, if i remember correctly it gives like 10k runes.
I got 90,000 runes from that
98000 runes with the pickled finger
75000 ish without

In my early play through I used the Sellia crystal cave to level up fast. The crystal miners give you roughly 200 runes a piece and the pests give you around 600 each. There’s like 12 miners and 7 pests. Then there’s the Fallingstar Beast boss fight when you reach the top.
Yeah the F-Star beast is a no no.
I took on the one beside the Capital and got gangbanged by only him☠️
Theres actually a way easier rune farm only a few minutes away from where this one is. It's at the site of grace called Lenne's rise just a little to the south of the one in this video. Theres a hill and when you go down it a giant ball spawns and if you just finesse it into rolling off the cliff itll give you 1950 runes each time and you can pretty easily do it 2 or 3 times a minute possibly 4 if you get really good at it.

There's also a spot where you can farm runes by doing absolutely nothing. The Impassable Greatbridge in the south of Caelid. Dash through, activate the Site of Grace, rest at it to reset it, then, hop on Torrent, dash over to the wood pile next to the wooden barricades behind you.
Then, run over to the left, jump up onto the cliff overlooking the dogs and soldiers. They'll start fighting. Easy ~4000 runes, and all you have to do is reset at the Site, and trigger the fight again.

@@sirorangutan7949 Not that I'm aware of. I just discovered this on my own, after I was dumped into Caelid through the teleport chest in the Dragon-burnt Ruins in Lake Agheel.
Just did this. Super easy but amount depends on how well the dogs do at killing the soldiers. You get more if you help them out 🤫

If you are a mage class and get the meteorite staff early and the rock sling spell that's in the same area as the staff(Caelid - Street of Sages Ruins) you can just run around on the horse and bump that up to about 23k every 10 min depending on your FP flask charges and level. If you learn the placements of each of these guy you can get a good loop going.
Came to the comments looking for this was hoping it would work for mage - 20 levels in two hours of grinding I'd call that working. ;)

I found a farm spot up in the top right of the map. Sellia under stair. It’s more for mage/ranged characters but the bugs in there give you 950 tunes per death and there are about 8 of them 4 in the main area and 4 more deeper in the cave. Also there are glint stone zombies that give you about 250 had like 20k runes in a half hr if that

It probably isn't worth it for you now but I found a really early spot you can do as a mage, you just need to go get the rock sling spell before you can do it. In Caelid at the Rotview Balcony site of grace, there's a cliff like 3 feet away with two birds under on a tree, that give roughly 1800 runs per kill. You can just stand on the cliff and blast them with rock sling and they will not be able to reach you as they jump down. I'm able to kill both of them in roughly 30 seconds, so I get about 7000 runes per minute with no risk involved, and no travel time. Just sit at grace and repeat.

Brilliant. I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure some reasonable rune farm method out and this works exactly as stated. Thanks a ton!
Ty I did this method. After I figured out how they move, I ran a circle stealth killing them and made about 18k runes per loop which took me roughly 10 to 15 min.
W a mage its like 10k per 60-90 seconds
I cheesed the Kindred boss for 88k runes which got me to level 40. After that I checked out this farm and found 9 of those little guys by the grace site he showed.
Went from 750 runes to over 9k in 1 minute. Glintstone pebble w the meteorite staff is all I used. Just did it on horseback for a quick sweep of the area.
This is an excellent early game farm. Thank you for the video. Just a quick word though, with a +2 uchigatana I was able to do just as much damage to the Vulgar Militia without the flask of physick. So after running around the area for about 5 minutes I was able to amass 10K plus souls killing all the monsters plus getting a pretty decent drop of the their armor.
What's your Arcane at?? I'm getting really bad drops as Samurai with my Arcane at 10.
I bumped it up to 12 I think. Maybe I was just having really good luck. I got the whole set in two or three loops plus the shotel weapon and saw spear.

Fastest method I found on my own was the two giants carrying the carriage in Limgrave. You spawn at the grace where pumpkin head is, you can mount in there and run right outside they will be reset every time you tp back to it. Fastest way is using glintstone arc and shooting sideways through them while targeting the back one so you can cleave them. Obviously this is the super farmable as astrologer starts with arc. You can buy it from Sellen in the basement if you don't have it otherwise. It nets 2k per run and depending on your int it's like

Just checked this out and it's pretty crazy how fast it goes. Key thing is that you'll need to be already somewhat leveled up with a decent weapon in order to take these guys down relatively fast. I was at lv. 24 with a +4 Uchigatana and it still took 2 hits (sneak attack for around 850dmg + unsheath) to kill them. There's a video by boomstick gaming that will get you to the point where you can clear out these mobs decently.

If you absolute suck at this game then what the hell am I doing wrong? I tried that farm spot 3 times and cannot kill any of those guys. I died like 4 times before leaving empty handed. My spear is already rank 4 and the fire incantation sucks. Idk what else to do, already, ffs.

@Maximum Carnage I have not used the spear, but make sure to stealth attack them. you need to stop moving and hold R1 while behind them, this should do 90%ish dammage, then slap thme twice and you should be good to go
Only one adjustment I would suggest to this... Just kill the first guy and reset at Grace, repeat. It's much faster than having to go chase down another one farther away.
I also hop on torrent and hop up on the rock to prep so I can see it's movement and what direction its facing. A few times I would round the corner and it's looking right at me and I get attacked, this prevents that.
Nope. There are 10+ of these little guys right by the outside grace site. I had 9k runes in 1 minute….
I actually start at the most northern Site Of Grace and work the entire area. There’s are a lot of those enemies. With the Golden Scarab Tailsman it’s about 1300 per kill times 15-20 enemies.
Golden Scarab talisman helps a lot. Go to the Abandoned Cave in Caelid, with a quickstep weapon. There are 2 Scarlet Rot(Cleanrot) Knights there. The Spear one is the most deadly, as his glowing charge attack nearly kills just from damage, let alone the Rot. Use the demihuman pack ash, 5 of them in it. That makes it fairly easy.
I’ve been farming godrick boss for the runes and he drops a rune arc every time as well but this is much easier for just runes alone. Thanks man! This well definitely help me rise up in my stat training.

You can honestly skip the whole flask part and just go straight to the portal. Btw I'm samurai class which may help in this. Then find the first enemy at 6:35 and kill it. Then just go back to the grace site you were at, do whatever with your runes (i usually leveled up) or don't use runes then the enemy will spawn again and then just repeat the same process. You don't even have to kill all those enemies you can just keep doing the same guy.
Honestly, even those giant guys with their intestines splayed out and the swords on their backs. They are 1000 runes a piece and quite predictable for attacks. Easy to dodge.
Thanks for this! There are so many 'early game farming' videos that require you to be level 60 or above. This will help a lot when I get stuck in some areas.

Great video my man, really helped with getting some levels after the first big boss when 1 level was about 6k runes! Small correction, to get torrent (the horse) it's not that particular site of grace it's just the 3rd visited when you get out of the tutorial, e.g. the first step, church of elleh, and another such as gatefront, agheel lake north or groveside cave

Didn’t know anything about anything going into the game…. Completely blind got up to 10k runes and had no idea you lost them or could get them back🥲didn’t even know what they were for but slowly figured it out. Not only that I waisted 2 hours trying to do the the first stone seal and getting down was a pain and once I got all the way down…. Let’s just say the boss is built different.
