Improbable run. Nobody could’ve saw this coming. This city deserves it. It’s been since 2011

If they hadn't tailed off so hard in August and September this would have made a lot more sense. First 100 games of the year, you could definitely imagine the Rangers winning it

I watched The Texas Rangers with my grandparents when I was a child in the 70s. We watched every night on channel 11 as the Rangers built a team and my Pawpaw fell asleep in his chair religiously at 9:00 pm. Some games took me over bedtime, but Granny would allow it. Game after game, year after year, the Rangers were our nightly routine. I grew up, graduated high school and college, but the nightly routine of Ranger Watching with my grandparents never changed.
A new ballpark opened in Arlington and my grandparents gave me a graduation gift of season tickets in the outfield. Marriage, children, and I moved away from home. But, my grandparents remained the constant, nightly Texas Rangers games. We lost Pawpaw first, then Granny. Later, my dad died. Through the years, the Texas Ranger games stayed a nightly family tradition. Then, as I was in California (1800 miles away from home and family), the Rangers made their first World Series. Then, another one. But, no title. =-(
I started to get gray hair. Years later, I moved home to Texas and now there was another stadium nearby in Arlington, the Cowboys had moved in. Working in Arlington, I would drive my truck by the stadiums, seeing the beauty of the new Arlington sports campuses. But, the child inside always remembered the old Rangers Stadium, along with my favorites Boo-Shelle and Pudge, and Nolan Ryan. They taught me how to be a man. =-)
Now, we have a title. I watched the last outs and thought of Granny and Pawpaw and Dad in Heaven, hoping they were as happy as I am. 53 years of Ranger Tears have grown within my eyes. Tonight, they were released. I'm too much of a man to cry forever, but tonight, I cry for all of us. =-o
