To everyone who's worried. This video was made with good fun. All the things in it are exaggerated to be funny. It's actually awesome here, we just work really hard.
Good point - I graduated from Purdue in 2014 with my engineering degree. Definitely hard work, but I absolutely loved my time there. Students are friendly and quirky (actually knew a couple in this video), plenty of fun extracurricular options and you'll quickly become part of the family. :)
TheSoundman78 What should i do if I want to enroll a master program there. Specially I'm from Bangladesh & Perdue is like my Dream University since my boyhood. Plz reply.
Back in high school when I first watched this video, the burger thing for the dining courts kinda went over my head... Now I understand... I understand completely...

Awesome video guys! My daughter is a Sophomore at Purdue, Chemical Engineering. They were actually able to sled down Slater hill for a few days last year, so that reference was cool. My daughter loves Purdue! Take the classes seriously from day 1 and you will do okay. One thing to remember: When you get to Purdue, you are no longer the smartest person in the room. Embrace it and learn.
I graduated from Purdue as an engineer and had three job offers. If you want to go to a university where achievement is based on actually doing something versus lower standards and false praise, it’s the place for you. Otherwise go to a different college where you can crawl into your safe space and still rack up debt. Regarding the weather, if you don’t like or can't tolerate snow and cold don’t come to the Midwest. Go Boilers!!!
I agree. It's a really intense university. Everyone from IU and Purdue (who were law school classmates) agreed that it really helped prepare a person for future work. Good memories!
Purdue PSA: watch out at night for Squabbits. They are demon rabbits that hide in the skins of squirrels during the day and hop around looking for people to eat during the night.
I watched this video the summer before I started Purdue. Fast forward to two years later, I must say: the homework aspect is pretty accurate. However Purdue is definitely more exciting than portrait in this commercial lol

I walked under the bell tower on my STAR day. Last week I CODO-ed from Bio into Pre-pharm and signed up for an additional two years on top of the standard four. Beware where you walk.
To all the worried incoming freshman, don't get yourself worked up too much. The best advice I have as a freshman is to get involved on campus in clubs and greek life, make the most of BGR, talk to your professors, and learn how to take advantage of your time here! Don't stress about having a 4.0 gpa, especially if you're in engineering because it's not attainable by almost everyone. Each class at Purdue takes effort and time to do well. That being said, I can confidently tell you that most nights of the week I have time to enjoy myself. Boiler Up!

Hey I know you posted the comment over a year ago, but how did you like your first year of CS? Also any tips or advice? I'm planning on attending Computer Science after high school.
Speaking from experience as someone who needed a lot of help along the way in my younger years and my mom helped (I’m neurodivergent), I’d say, tryyyy to find ways to have a support system outside of family to help with the transition to more independence, BUT by all means, listen to yourself and where you’re at within, if you know it’s just not in the cards to push yourself to handle both a school load, the transition for that, AND general lifing without them (and have no other support options) just don’t do it (yet)! Wait it out until you’re ready. For me, i decided to do Western Governors University online before and then apply here and southern New Hampshire university given that school tends to accept way more than this one. Good luck though, I know you can do anything you want!

I'm a Purdue grad, some of the best times in my life, the only evidence I saw that the video makers really knew Purdue was the chasing squirrels thing, every purdue grad knows about the squirrels, theyre outside of every dorm at all times. They say stuff about cornfields, you can't see any cornfields from anywhere in west lafayette or lafayette, so why would a "real" purdue commercial need to mention them. And the dining courts at purdue were amazing and none of my college friends would say differently, so unless they've changed to only serving Burgers... I don't get it. The squirrel joke was about a real thing and kinda funny, the rest wasn't funny, but thumbs up for making a purdue video. Might wanna mention u get to go to huge games in the Big Ten season, alot of people would consider that a draw, and there are only a few majors that have to study all the time, engineering is one, my 3 roommates for 2 years were engineers, we still partied on the weekends.
