If you care about times, I would race Chicago, easy decision. Flying for a 10 hours plus the jet lag is a big deal. I’ve been in enough races overseas to know that it really impacts performance.
I ran a sub 3 in Zurich for the first time at 45 years, it's because of you guys, and probably also the training. If you choose Valencia next year, I'll join you. Thank you both so much. I'm targeting 2.48 in San Sebastian in November, let's see if I die 😂

Love to see the summer and fall plans! If the weather looks bad for Chicago in October, you can always pull out of that and run Detroit the following weekend (10/20). It's just a short drive from Chicago. Great weather usually and takes you into Canada and back to the US. Awesome course (pretty flat outside of a hill at 3 and 8)!
Ahh I had to defer Chicago this year (had a baby!) but will be running it next year. A big reason why I entered was from watching your content so would be great to see you in a shakeout next year even if you’re not running it then! Looking forward to seeing more progression through the rest of the year, genuinely think that ceiling is way off yet!
Exciting plans for the summer and this fall! I’m sure you’ll hit your time targets… to run the time you did at Boston in that heat shows you got everything right and I’m sure you can replicate that when you’re fitter in the to go even faster!
Would love to have you back in Indiana for another race! I've never ran the Monumental, but I've heard incredible things about it

Appreciate the insight into how the Boston Marathon operates. It's unfortunate that you had to delete your video but good on you for remaining so positive and still speaking highly of the BAA! Great insight for other content creators who might not know how that all works.

Go get it Floberg! I was supposed to run TC marathon last year (canceled due to heat) so I ran Indy. It's a great regional runners' race, some fast competition (so a good choice if Chicago doesn't happen). Good luck with the build up! We'll be cheering for you!

Hey Eric - I’ve been following for a couple of years and never commented. Just wanted say we’ve had VERY similar progressions over the last few years. I just got under 2:35 earlier this year. I’m also targeting sub 16 at Montrose on July 12. Hope I get to toe the line with you!
If you want to trek out, The Great Race in Pittsburgh, PA end of September is a great 10k imo. Net downhill point to point and set my PR there which i'm looking to beat this year as well.

Right call to do Chicago over Berlin, at this point in your progression. Home course advantage can't be ignored. Berlin will always be there in future years.

Berlin was my first marathon in 2022, and this year I’ll be in Chicago, my fourth marathon and my first time in the States 🤩 I’m so pumped! Hope to enjoy the city, and to meet the amazing community!

Turned 40 last year and thinking about PR my marathon (2:55) ever since. Your video’s inspire.. but you saying you got a handfull upporunities left at 33 does not 😂😂. Will go for it in October @Amsterdam marathon though.. keep up your great work!! 💪

From the business side of Boston I get it to keep other people from making money on its own famous course. Best to keep those videos either private or somehow label it non monetization
A course is made up of public streets. You can’t copyright videos on public streets. Someone needs to challenge the legality of this practice.
Just to give an example let’s say that the house you own and live in is on the Boston Marathon course, would it be illegal for you to film your own home during the marathon?
@@OmahaTonyG in my heart it is a really dumb rule that needs to be overhauled. The shit part of running which is the corporate, money hungry side would think different though. It's the most popular marathon in history they gotta let people film what they want

The BAA continuously proves it's not interested in bringing more runners into the fold, or even promoting the sport as a whole. Instead, they're only out to protect their own image. It's sad that one of the most celebrated organizations in our sport is so cynical.
I hear you but they’ve done pretty well with their image to date. B.A.A was long established before us content creators came along

As Eric says, its only filming while within the course which makes sense. There's likely a number of reasons mainly safety as the marathon is trying to keep runners running and not filming. They have photography and can hire teams to film outside the course.
