    This is FANTASTIC! I've spent so much time with other guides and videos that claim to compare models, but none of them have all of the details (functions, full model numbers), as well as not pointing out the plate in the FD302 v the basket in the OP302/5. Thank you so much and keep up the great videos! :)

    I have the FD402 with the knob. Haven;t had any issues at all - just love it. Came with the double rack & basket. Have discovered so many great accessories and of course fabulous recipes that I sometimes do exactly as you have them and others, I add/take out things based on our tastes, through you and your videos, Louise. Thanks so much! I've shared your website and videos with so many people. I have 2 cousins with (I'm not sure which, Ninja or Instant Pot), who are afraid to use and just put the box in a closet. I've sent them your videos and at least now, they're game to give them a try

And now I've watched your channel and you are wonderful and I thank you for all your information you are great and I'm not just saying that I'm really happy that I found your Channel. And now they come out with the Speedi... how confusing is this?? LOL I purchased two models of the Ninja on Black Friday and Cyber Monday LOL and now I see that there's a Speedi... one of the main reasons I would like one of the Ninjas is because of the sous vide function. For some reason I'm obsessed with sous vide for the last year and a half don't know why. Anyway this is a lengthy comment and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your videos. Kudos!

I have found that companies seem to get to a point where they have the top selling product they then begin decide to go cheaper on making the items they produce. Shame because what will happen is people will won't up grade or won't buy the products any more.

    I appreciate you taking the time to make this video (in fact all your videos). I had the Foodi with the basket and gave that to my daughter. And now I have the sous vide one. I love it! I prefer the one with the black rack instead of basket. And I don't miss the reverseable metal rack either. I'm glad the lid is not as heavy and didn't even notice the heat of the lid!!! I also have the Foodi grill with the temp probe, that's where I do cakes etc. I love the shape of that for mac and cheese... Basically, I wanted to sous vide and to pressure cook. So again Louise, me having been in the food service industry for many years, I know how much it takes for you to create these recipes and then after all of that, you or someone has clean up the kitchen! I have the original 6.5 qt model. The only time I like using the pressure lid when not pressure cooking is the Steam function. The presets for the time and temp on the steam function work perfect. The time can be changed, but that’s just messing with something that doesn’t need to be fixed. Otherwise, I have glass lids from other pans in my kitchen, and I like to put a 10” or 12” lid over it when simmering. I don’t like that the pressure lid needs to locked into place for non pressure functions. I’m just not comfortable with it. I won’t use it. I believe Instant Pot comes with a clear lid. It’s okay. I don’t need another lid in my kitchen. But I will put a clear lid over it every time. I also bought a 9” silicone disk to line the bottom of the pot when air frying anything messy. It works great, and I would suggest Ninja consider including one in future models.

    Thank you Louise!! I has to call Ninja today because yesterday I burned food I was reheating on air crisp function and I mean I burned it to a crisp in under a minute, noticing the Fan was not on. I tried troubleshooting but the fan didn't engage on any cycle forcing me to call. Since it only has a 1 year warranty, and since I bought mine in March 2020, They said it has to be replaced. I have the OP40208 8 quart and have used it a minimum of 4 times a week so needless to say, I got my money's worth! They offered a new version of mine which is an FD402 regularly with 30% off and will get it within a week. I loved the features in the new one with the thermometer, but, I have wireless probes I use in mine and The FD402 I'm getting has a reheat and sous vide,, two features my other didn't have so I'm happy. You should have a Food Nerwork TV show or at least be the official spokesperson for Ninja! I received the OS101 9-in-1 5-qt for Christmas, which seems to be more of a fusion of the 6.5 or 5-qt models you reviewed. Used it twice that day! Had to replace it via Ninja Support because the Sear/Sauté failed. (Side note-the support was superb and they shipped the replacement when they got notice from FedEx that my unit was received for shipment, so was only out of use for five days from Monday shipment to Saturday replacement.) The OS101 is a good fit for my wife and me because we cook mostly just cook for the two. So in three weeks of use, I’ve tried several recipes using air-crisp or pressure or both. Having no previous experience, so I’ve found it just quite a paradigm shift. Love the convenience.

    So excited for your videos !! Thanks so much, I am curious though, is it still technically possible to sous vide in my 8qt?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +1

      If you have the one with the sous vide function, then yes. I just learned that there is one available or at least that is what I have been told. I haven't seen it first hand yet.

    @the salted pepper I know you did this vid a year ago, but thank you. I have just started my research and hope to run into deals. So now I am just looking for diff between 9-1 6.5 qt and 12-1 8 qt. Other than the one being harder to look into. You know? I dont necessarily need large size as small family, but I do freeze meals. Thank you for kicking off my research. Oh yeah I am concerned about the new 6.5 heat as I see other reviewers are too. Hmm🤔
    Oh I just found you did a 6.5 vs 8, 3 years ago. I will compare with current features.

    Thank you. I had the 5 qt (unopened) and will return for larger one. I want more flexibility. Your video helped so much.

    The 5 quart is my most used foodi. It’s my electric skillet and quick air fryer and pressure cooking some rice or beans or noodles. ❤

    It's funny that I never new that I new how to use a sous vide cooker until just now. I used to work in a restaurant that had one that I used to use all the time but, I didn't know the name of it. Lol.

    Nicely done. I would seriously consider the upgraded 6.5 qt, but the fact that it gives off so much heat is a deal breaker for me. One of the great things about the Foodi IMO me is being able to use it in summer without warming up the whole room.
    I do love my Foodi, despite wanting an insta pot/casori the year I got it. I literally broke my toe on it when it was under the tree and was geared up to hate that little booger. Love it tho, and it's the one extra appliance in my kitchen I would not be without.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +2

      It does get warm to the touch, but I haven't noticed that it gives off any more heat than the other ones do as far as heating up the room goes. I wouldn't let that factor into your decision to upgrade.

    When I purchased my 6.5 it came with both of those racks and to this day I hardly ever use the nonadjustable. The pro looks a smidge more attractive but I'm so in love with my Foodi that I couldn't even be tempted with the pro-poser!

    I appreciate your reviewing the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker/air fryer combo. I was going to buy the 8 qt. but after seeing your review, I decided to buy 2 separate machines. The 8 qt. combo is 25 lbs. and way too large for me to handle. I thought the combo would be good for my RV but I would have to store it on the floor when traveling and lifting something so large and heavy would not be good for my back.

    Hi! Thank you for this very detailed video! Really helpful. I was wondering if you can tell me the difference between ninja foodi and ninja speedi?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  Год назад +2

      The Ninja Foodi is round, bigger and pressure cooks. The Speedi is square, smaller, and doesn't pressure cooker.

      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад +2

      It is a bit of a pain, I just use a kids electric toothbrush to get under there once a month or so. The rest of the time, I simply wipe it the best I can. I do use the broil function to burn off anything that may be on the grate itself.

    I"m interested in the two large high gloss ones and there is only a $20 difference in the 6.5 quart and the 8 quart. Would you recommend I get the larger one? Family of four and I'm 5'5. By the way, I LOVE the way you communicate in your videos, by the way. You speak clearly and explain things very well. New subscriber here!

    Excellent overview - they are definitely reducing the cost of manufacture by reducing the build quality, more so in the 6.5qt but both are lessor quality.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 года назад

      Thank you! It is really a shame that they aren't keeping them the same quality.
