- There is construction going on right across the old abandoned "insane asylum" here on farm rd in San Antonio, Tx. My assumption is that it's going to be a neighborhood..

Sub divisions are being built like crazy all over S.A. that whole area is not the same anymore with all the development. These home builders are destroying landmark areas. They just love to fill up thier pockets with more and more money.
I totally agree with you. In months/years time, this road is gonna look totally different...I'll definitely post more updates on what is done here.

Was that an insane asylum? My uncle went there when he was a child to recover from tuberculosis in the 1930s or 1940s....

I saw a layout of streets, many pipes, and fire hydrants installed. My money is on it's gonna be a neighborhood. I'll make another update on it in a few months!
Yeah greedy developers they should leave it be ,after all why build neighborhoods when you can have an abandoned run down asylum which makes way more sense
I'm sensing sarcasm? I just find it odd for a new neighborhood to be built right across from an active juvenile detention center/abandoned home for the aged.
Omg I live near there and I just said the same thing today. Across from a juvenile center ! Really!
It's more than just an abandoned run down asylum. It's another piece of history In san antonio being destroyed, just to add another sub division to the 100s of others being developed. I guess you rather see Nothing but homes, apartments, parking lots, in every direction.
