Me too! I love that Ellen uses her show to promote veganism and respect for animals, and showing delicious vegan recipes. ♥ I only wish she'd mentioned a lot of these animals come from meat/egg/dairy farms.
I went to the gentle barn in CA yesterday. It was an amazing place! The chickens were adorable one let me pick her up and she fell asleep in my arms. I want to be there everyday!!!

Because of this video, I learned about the Gentle Barn. I've visited their California location twice, so far, and have happily donated to help them start the other 2 locations in TN and MO. Thanks, Ellen!

They are so sweet and warm.
Ellie Laks and Jay Weiner are my heroes. I would give anything to be able to do what they do for a living. I love them so much. I'll be visiting the MO location next Sunday with my husband and two boys. Can't wait to see their new baby pig and to see how Einstein the sheep is doing since my last visit when he was only there for a few days. I love watching their videos online and following the healing stories of all of the wonderful animals. My heart is full when I visit. I highly recommend reading Ellie's book called My Gentle Barn. It's so inspiring.
My family use to have a farm in Yorkshire and the cow just reminded me of the cow we used to have on our farm from when I was right little and it really brought back memories 😊
This is amazing! I am so happy that there are places like this barn where animals are treated with love and also, kids and adults learn a lot from this experience. So nice!

Josh the sheep thinking he was in a "time out" was lol! Portia sounded so endearing during her visit, God bless her and Ellen for being major contributors to the Gentle Barn, which I also thank for being so caring and amazing for providing such a place for these types of animals. I wish I could visit it someday, my kids would love it.

Horse humane society does the same for horses and other farm animals! They are wonderful people who have many beautiful horses

Both Ellen and Portia should go and visit again.
So that they can reconsider the cruel ED line, and stop using- LEATHER, SUEDE, WOOL, CASHMERE.
It’s also taking something that doesn’t belong to us. Animals that are raised for their body parts (including wool) are commodities. We need to start respecting animals and looking at them in a different light. All sheep that are raised for meat are shorn for their wool, thus providing a bi product from meat, all sheep raised for their wool will eventually be killed for meat. This is the continuous cycle that must end.
The Gentle Barn has an awesome RUclips channel with less than 10k subs, it deserves a million! Had no idea they were featured on Ellen years ago...just found this :)
I remember someone volunteering at the Gentle Barn told me that the emu there was stranded in the desert by her/his owner and had an abusive past... the emu at the Gentle Barn is not very trusting of people, so I didn't get to pet her/him

I am so glad RUclips carries this video. I was reading My Gentle Barn (memoirs written by Ellie) and she talks about her appearance on the Ellen show near the end of the book. It made me want to watch that show ㅡ and here it is! I urge you all to read her book and go vegan ❤

That is a type of place I'll like to have, for the purpose of rescuing a hell of a lot of different kind of animals that are abused very badly by people in Ecuador .... Unfortunately you need a lot of money to purchase a kind a piece of land to built a place similar to what you see in this video.... I pray to god so he can provide this dream of mind....

good for you :) it's good to start by replacing a few simple things like replacing dairy with soy-, almond- or oatmilk... whatever plant-based milk you like. and trying to replace eggs whenever you can... i think it'll make it easier for you :) if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
