What you should look for in your eye cream: - Caffeine (constricts the vases, causing blood to accumulate less in the area and making it less purple); - Retinol (for wrinkles). For puffiness: - Thermo-therapy (i.e. eye-patches) or talk to a doctor in case of fat deposits in the area.

I’m going to assume that RUclips isn’t her day job, rather probably something she does to spread awareness. These videos are time consuming as it is. I’m grateful for her time because I’ve learned a lot in the short time I’ve been a subscriber. I don’t know about this type of video, but with something like tarot (for example), the subscribers watch the video, timestamps the 12 astrological signs in the comments, and the creator pins them to the top for the other subscribers. It’s a show of gratitude. Like, “hey, thanks for taking the time to create and edit this free educational video for me.”
I don't buy anything from Sephora but from what I assume is that their products have fragrance in them and that's a big no no. So, it’s better to check the ingredients of their products if you are planning to buy from them.

Thank you! Finally I know what to look for! Most eye cream claim to help against puffy eyebags or wrinkles, but I need something against these dark eye circles. I hate how they claim puffy eyebags and dark eye circles are the same. They are not!
And this is why I follow Cassandra. I showed this video to 2 of my dermatologist friends and they both say she's just stating the truth. Something influencers and cosmetic companies do not want you to know.
I will say this. I have dark deep set hereditary eye circles. I was a huge sucker for eye creams and gels to help improve my eye looks. I decided to go to the drs and take a blood test to see if I have any deficiencies or allergies that might contribute to my under eye darkness/ circles. Turns out I’m anaemic, have a few vitamin deficiencies and I have mild allergies. Once I started eating cleaner and avoiding foods that would agitate my skin, my UNDER EYE DARK CIRCLES / BAGS have IMPROVED!!! Yes I still have darkness under my eyes but it is MUCH better than it was before. Also I stopped smoking and have tried to sleep 8 hours.
I use to layer my concealer to the point it was so thick I needed heavy oils to take off my makeup (lol) but now I can say I only use two layers of concealer and am so much happier.
Hi, I'm anaemic too, and have been having outside food all 3 times for past 5 years and now I've got pretty DARK circles and sunken eyes... So now I've switched back to home made food and taking better care... Can you suggest food items you consume for being anemic?
Beside special treatments and eye-safe retinoids, I would also add one situation when a person would need a separate moisturiser for the eye area: oily skin. My skin is very oily (truly oily, it stays oily the whole year and the whole face, not just the t-zone) and the moisturisers I use for the face (water creams and lotions that are basically just hydrating agents) are simply not occlusive enough for the drier under-eye area. I need more fatty, occlusive ingredients for under eyes, so I use a different product there. However, I do not use creams that are marketed as eye creams, exactly for the reasons you stated in the video. I use face creams or sleeping packs that are intended for dry or dry to normal skin types. If it's in a jar, I scoop them over to a small travel box so that I only touch and expose to air and light a small amount at a time. They last forever as I only use a tiny bit.
Thank you for saying this. My face is oily and acne prone. I bought a vegan caffeine eye cream that is more occlusive than i would put on my t zone. My oily face can only handle lightweight prdts

Hello. Retinol can wrinkle the skin too (that is, produce the opposite effect) - read an article. Can also trigger eyebags when I bought a cheap retinol eye cream. Hello mam, At 4:33 you mention caffeine causes vasoconstriction. I'd humbly like to correct a little. Caffeine acts on vascular smooth muscle cells and after a short vasoconstriction effect, it causes significant vasodilatation. The under eye swelling or puffiness (non medically used term) is caused due to accumulation of tissue fluid aka lymph. Blood cannot temporarily seep out of capillaries and then go back in. So the effect of caffeine at the end is as you mention - depuffing, the process is entirely different. Caffeine dilates the blood vessels basically, so the lymph drains out faster than it otherwise would. Even if you don't apply caffeine, it would drain ultimately, but it will take time. Caffeine helps hasten the process a bit.
I'm only 32 and began battling fine lines. No one in my family has started aging this soon. They are all near sea level, But I moved to a high elevation in the mountains and the oxygen is much thinner and the sun is much more intense when its out because I'm closer to it and the atmosphere is thinner, and it is consequently a much dryer climate as well. I began doing skincare religiously. I love straight forward, go against the system people! This was an excellent video! BETTER THAN MILLIONS OF OTHER VIDEOS!

Good to know, I will have to try this. I am in my 20s but have severe under eye bags. I’m certain that part of my problem is sleep insomnia combined with anemia, But the fact that I’m a super fair skinned redhead doesn’t help.
I struggled with dark undereyes since I can remember and tried a lot of creams and sweet almond oil was the thing that really worked for me. Plus, it is so cheap.
Maybe that explains why my current simple, cheap few-ingredient moisturizer actually makes my face so much prettier - it has almond oil as a top ingredient and I did notice a decline in my undereye circles. It's the fragrance free Weleda soothing facial cream if anyone wonders, cause I just can't put pure oils on my skin.

The under eye area is a very sensitive one that needs a special formulation, that's why they are very similar to regular moisturizers. They avoid the irritating ingredients such as some active ingredients or preservatives. Some face moisturizers are safe for the eye area but not all of them!!
Yeah, no. The skin is thinner, but it's not any more sensitive. And the fact is, they aren't actually formulating the eye creams all that differently then the rest of the face moisturizers. Maybe you shouldn't be putting acne treatments or retinol creams around your eyes, (because of the risk to your eyes) but you don't need a specially formulated eye cream when an average moisturizer would work just as well.
@@korichamberlain3641 you do need a special eye cream if you have sensitive eyes. I guess you just never had such issues. And you are lucky. But if you have sensitive eyes, you will literally cry from an average eye cream, even a expensive one. It's not about the eye area, it's about the proximity to the eyes. The face cream from the same company does irritates my eyes if applied on the area around my eyes.

As as I want to agree with this whenever I stop using eye creams and use face moisturiser on my eye area I get milia or the area gets super dry. So if your eye cream helps then I would continue to use it. I recently tried the Niod fractionated eye serum and I must admit I can actually see a difference. When I finished it I used Cerave PM rather than spend again on the eye serum, but it caused dry patches so I'm back to eye creams. Guess it works for some people

I'm using an eye cream with retinol from some brand Revuele, it's really not pricey, 15ml is like 4 bucks, and there's really a retinol in this little tube. Many people on the internet with skin problems tell that this brand is really not offensive to the sensitive skin. I genetically have few lines under my eyes since childhood and those lines are now more visible, but after 3-4 weeks of using this light cream, I really noticed some improvement, also my dark circles are little bright. When should you use anti aging products and is the myth correct? You could certainly make a video about that, if that's something, you want to talk about. Love from Germany!
It’s called anti aging for a reason it helps stop the aging look of the skin so technically if you start younger you will be able to get the best of the anti aging product

I had that when I was on The Pill and the number 1 thing I found that worked was a high factor sunscreen (I used a factor 50 by photoderma). It made them much lighter - light enough that I could cover it with concealer. They went away when I was off hormones - took a few months and there are still some tiiiiiiny freckles left but otherwise they are gone.
Sleep well, eat in was that promote collagen, and the rest is going to just be genetics and age. Keeping your skin hydrated will help but there is a certain point where if you are healthy then that’s just how your beautiful face looks.
Freeze a small amount of witch hazel . Then defrost ...but before it's fully defrosted soak a cotton wool ball or very soft tissue with it and dab around the eye area . Both the cold and witch hazel act as a natural vaso-dilator !!
of course it can´t be stopped and there are various factors like genes and overall lifestyle that play a role in ageing. but good and most importantly constant skincare (esp from an early age on) will slow down the ageing process.
Creams can kinda slow the ageing process down. But they aren't a miracle pill that you take one time and you're go to go. Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid creams have to be used everyday. You can't stop using them and hope those fine wrinkles won't come back. Because if you stop using them those fine wrinkles will come back. And the Retinol products prescribed by a doctor are much stronger than those in over the counter moisturising creams. The over the counter stuff takes a lot longer before you see any results...... ☮️⚛️👀🌏

Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. Could you please do a video like this on acne scars and textured skin? 🙏🏽
I'm also an esthetician and I have periorbital hyperpigmentation. It has worsened considerably with age. Im assuming to treat it the same way you would as hyperpigmentation like sun spots etc? I was considering plastic surgery but from what the doctor told me it sounded like he would just be removing fat. I have no inflammation. So thank you so much for this this video I will definitely reconsider the surgery.
Under eye skin is much thinner and for some people face creams would be too irritating under the eye because too much of the product is absorbed, hence, eye creams are less "strong" to avoid irritation.
Bobbi Brown extra eye repair ...I’m on my 3rd jar, and I can’t give it up it’s truly amazing! Best eye cream I have ever used...eye area looks so good ❤️🙌🏻
I need to thank you for teaching us so much. Too many people are talking about something they don't really know but here with your explainations it finally gives me real answers
I'm a Doctor, If I look at it from another view I could say that I'm glad they make under eye moisturizers because the one moisturizer I love on my face irritates my under eye area and don't moisturize it well, I use a hyaluronic acid gel for under eyes and my dryness problems are all gone. So the thing is, it's true around eye area is really a sensitive area and needs special formulas than those used for the face. Pricing issues are the same among all beauty products not jjust eye creams,so it depends on knowledge and personal preference. Lastly, I prefer those tiny bottles for eye creams bcuz no body really needs a big amount that will expire before finishing half of it because it's actually used on a small space.
It depends on face cream. Some face creams irritate my under eye area too, some not. I need just moisturizers (I don't have any other problems with that area, for now, thankfully).
I don’t know, i once used one specialized in under eye area that made my under eye dark circles to become red and so I stop using these types of creams..
What she wanted to point out is, if you have problems with puffiness or dark circles around the eyes, no amount of moisturizer will treat that. If your problem is dryness around the eyes, then moisturizer is for you.

What you should look for in your eye cream:
- Caffeine (constricts the vases, causing blood to accumulate less in the area and making it less purple);
- Retinol (for wrinkles).
For puffiness:
- Thermo-therapy (i.e. eye-patches) or talk to a doctor in case of fat deposits in the area.
You mean retionol helps?
I have these glass balls I can put in the fridge and use around my eyes after washing my face and after applying my moisturizer. It is so relaxing and helps with puffiness and irritation.

Also growth factors, anti-oxidants, vitamin c

I’m going to assume that RUclips isn’t her day job, rather probably something she does to spread awareness. These videos are time consuming as it is. I’m grateful for her time because I’ve learned a lot in the short time I’ve been a subscriber.
I don’t know about this type of video, but with something like tarot (for example), the subscribers watch the video, timestamps the 12 astrological signs in the comments, and the creator pins them to the top for the other subscribers. Thank you! Finally I know what to look for! Most eye cream claim to help against puffy eyebags or wrinkles, but I need something against these dark eye circles. I hate how they claim puffy eyebags and dark eye circles are the same. They are not!
Maybe try an eye cream with vitamin k or marine/seaweed extract? I believe those ingredients help to reduce undereye darkness.
And this is why I follow Cassandra. I showed this video to 2 of my dermatologist friends and they both say she's just stating the truth. Something influencers and cosmetic companies do not want you to know.
This girl is brutally honest and we absolutely love it!

This was EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you so much for shedding light on eye creams and the different issues that can occur x

I struggled with dark undereyes since I can remember and tried a lot of creams and sweet almond oil was the thing that really worked for me. Plus, it is so cheap.

The under eye area is a very sensitive one that needs a special formulation, that's why they are very similar to regular moisturizers. They avoid the irritating ingredients such as some active ingredients or preservatives. Some face moisturizers are safe for the eye area but not all of them!!
I agree with u
Well i mean she did say as long as its not crap you can you use it
As as I want to agree with this whenever I stop using eye creams and use face moisturiser on my eye area I get milia or the area gets super dry. I’ve always known that ageing can’t be stopped by the cream. That’s just marketing.
of course it can´t be stopped and there are various factors like genes and overall lifestyle that play a role in ageing. but good and most importantly constant skincare (esp from an early age on) will slow down the ageing process.
Except for tretinoin, that's scientifically proven, not even to stop but to reverse it. You can look for the papers yourself.
medical grade eye creams work: looks for vitamin c, retinol, antioxidants, growth factors, peptides, caffeine, vitamin k

Under eye skin is much thinner and for some people face creams would be too irritating under the eye because too much of the product is absorbed, hence, eye creams are less "strong" to avoid irritation.

I would literally love and enjoy taking your class if you were to ever be a professor at a college/university like this was amazing !
Lastly, I prefer those tiny bottles for eye creams bcuz no body really needs a big amount that will expire before finishing half of it because it's actually used on a small space.
what brand do you use for the h.a gel?
It depends on face cream. Some face creams irritate my under eye area too, some not. I need just moisturizers (I don't have any other problems with that area, for now, thankfully).
I don’t know, i once used one specialized in under eye area that made my under eye dark circles to become red and so I stop using these types of creams..
What she wanted to point out is, if you have problems with puffiness or dark circles around the eyes, no amount of moisturizer will treat that. If your problem is dryness around the eyes, then moisturizer is for you.
Exactly!
