Good update I have seen so far about Kisii town. You highlighted all the very important sections of the town in the CBD...Otherwise the very best of the town is on the outer layer of CBD especially the hotels...

@@ostinlamar704 in terms of build up, Kisii has large, beautiful and wonderful buildings. Most estates in nairobi have too many rusty buildings. Only horizontal infrastucture should be improved in Kisii, roads in CBD are really unplanned, but modern ones are being constructed in the outskirts, like the wonderful interchange past Daraja Mbili, one of its kind in East Africa

I knew of doctor called Mayanja who taught biology at Kangaru School in Embu, he later got his medical license and then worked at Kenyatta Hospital. I guess he is now back in UG. He had escaped from Amin. Interesting to hear that name
@@ugconnect However, remember the Soil texture is different for Kisumu it can't hold water for long for instance where l'm currently that is Mombasa when it's raining even if you walk on a muddy area your clothes can't get dirty. It's because soil texture.

After watching Kisumu and Eldoret for sometime, Kisii looks dirty, underdeveloped and disorganized. But the one thing i appreciate about the kisiis is that they are very hardworking!

The la S t time i was here is almost 25 years; i am shocked and disappointed that nothing has really changed in terms of infrastructure. The walkways and pavements are just as the same. The buildings, some have never been repainted. Its like the town is been left behind by time, ITS STAGNANT. County government needs to wake up. What a shame!

Unfortunately not much can be done to improve Kisii. The location makes planning challenging. It's hilly and develops following the highways. The population is excessive.
Compared to Bungoma, Kakamega, and Eldoret, Kisii looks rather disorganised and dull. It looks bigger than most towns, but someone needs to do better urban planning.

For example, to Abagusii, God is Nyasaye (which is borrowed from the Nilotic neighbours - Luo), but even closest relatives Abakuria and Simbiti (use Enokwe and Wa Rioba respectively). Bantu groups diverged from somewhere, at times even from a common parent. Saying that Mogusii and Momeru were twins does not distance the rest. Yes, the Ameru, Abakuria, Simbiti, Zanaki, Ngurimi are closely related to Abagusii linguistically. Some shared words include Mogambi (Mugambi), Mogendi (Mugendi). Mokuria and Mogusii are closer because they migrated together. Momeru moved with Mokamba and Mogikoyo. I am a student of history and I am currently documenting the history, language, and traditions of Abagusii people for future generations. Part of it has been to understand where Omogusii comes from.

For instance a name for a man in kisii is the same for Samia and banyala luhya same as wash your hands and many more,if you are documenting get time and visit maragoli land familiarize yourself with the language then go to funyula and budalangi and familiarize with the language too, the mojar difference is the pronunciation and the effect of L and R.

Same thing with expanding roads. However, there is no excuse for not having street lights. That said, the nature of Kisii means that the town (hilly) cannot grow within but grows following the highways. New developments are along Kisii-Kilgoris, Kisii-Migori, Kisii-Nyamira, and Kisii-Sotik (limited because land is occupied by institutions - schools, KARI, etc).

Kisii is overpopulated. There's limited land for expansion, hence the reason why even roads are narrow as compared to other towns. It's also the reason most Kisiis have migrated to other towns in Kenya and overseas.
