Dude you have no idea how helpful these are … much appreciated!
Nice, I’m happy to finally start getting some feedback on these videos
You know what i love the most. I once saw your videos and told myself soon ill do the same. Well, i am now looking at them again because I am halfway started on my m52b28 auto to zf 5speed swap. Thank you man for all the helpful info!!!
Finally going to get around to swapping my 325i thanks to you! Keep it up
I literally just finished it today, all the videos coming out soon
Awesome vid - thanks. Not doing a swap just yet - but need to get to the front of the trani to fix a leak on my 325 - a lot of great e46 stuff but this is the best e36 I have seen.
Thx 🙏🏻

You maybe have missed! But thats not a big deal! Thanks alot For the series, im from ontario aswell 💯
I respect all the effort showing every detail.
Thanks
keep up the good work! waiting for wiring
Thx , will do
What wood or any other stands would you recommend for this? I have a 94 325i
I’m working on the top bell housing’s bolt they just won’t break loose
is it the same for a e46 328i?
Bom trabalho esse câmbio automático é muito pesado!
?
good stuff :)
Thx
Awesome skills
Thanks and thanks for watching
Help I just noticed the socket underneath next to the gearbox mine is disconnect what is it for I don't see the other wire to connect to it
Superb work! Your E36 vids are the best I've seen and are a great inspiration. I've just watched your full length vid on pulling out the manual box before watching this one - awesome stuff! I'm doing lots of DIY work on my 2.5 6 cylinder auto vert at the moment, and I'm in the middle of a coolant rebuild. I've already replaced the w/p, t/stat & housing, clutch fan and belts. Radiator is next on the list, and now thanks to this vid, I can clearly see those awkward little 8mm bolts on the trans/lines attached to the underside of the radiator. I managed to take out the easier one but the other bolt in between the lines is a bit tricky with everything in situ. Question for you if you don't mind: I'm struggling to get to the drain plug in the engine block for a full flush. Would doing a flush via the water pump opening be okay? I'm thinking about removing the w/p again, which is pretty much on the same level as the drain plug, and then spraying the garden hose (we're in a soft water area) into the hole to wash out old coolant.
Thanks for watching, not too sure about the coolant flush haven’t done that yet
@@ProblemSolverGarage No probs. I'll give it a go and see if it adequately works. 👍
what’s the point in taking off the starter?
Hi i think your videos are great Im a DIY mechanic I have a 69 Corvette do you have a full video on a Holley Sniper EFI conversion from start to finish with an intank efi pump and wiring?? I would love to see that
Hey thanks for watching, unfortunately I do not
Why do you need to remove the starter motor? Can you just use that for the manual transmission
Hi I have watched your BMW E36 Transformation from Star to the End ! Congrats and Thanks ...I Have a Question ... Will a Getrag Manual E36 BMW fit in to my BMW E36 328I CONVERTIBLE ?
Thanks for watching, yes they're all interchangeable
>How do you lift the car high enough= Do you have a video from this lift process?
Watch the whole series on the manual swap, everything start to finish is in the video
Hi i was wondering what do you do with the extra wiring that was connected to the auto transmission, did you just tuck it, or do you cut it? Thanks!
I just talk to the way at the motor
Really really helpful I watched every video, any chance you’re selling any parts?
Thx, I’m so so far north for parts lol
What’s the name of the wrench you used to take the hoses out I can’t find it in the description
Hey sorry I can’t remember what they’re called but they sell them at Napa, you could show them a picture of it from the video
That round black electrical plug you twist out of the rear of the box, what do I do with that? Cut off and close the wires off?
I just unclipped mine everywhere and wrapped it up into a ball and put it next to the cruise control
@@ProblemSolverGarage thanks mate 👍👍
My tourer converter stayed with the engine do I just hammer it off?
Swapping to a zf
hey man what did you do with the automatic transmission wiring connection?
I just wrapped it into a ball and left it over by the front left fender
Hello, i am in the process of doing a manual swap. How do you prevent the driveshaft from spinning in order to remove/loosen the nuts at the diff? Should i just lower the car so the wheels are resting on the ramp so it won't spin? and then loosen the nuts/bolt? I don't want to damage the diff if i should hold the driveshaft a certain way to prevent it from spinning. Thanks.
That’s exactly what you need to do
@@ProblemSolverGarage Thank you for your quick response as always. Your videos are super helpful and very clear n detailed… thanks again🤗
So what we do with the cables that we disconnected from the transmission?
I zipped mine up with zip ties and left them tucked away nicely under the left front fender area
The back of my drive shaft goes through a cross memeber
Hi. Can i use 318i manual gearbox to 325i engine.
Yes they're all interchangeable, you'll need to use a 318i clutch and pressure plate
I have a 93’ 325is do I need to take part the manifold in order to take out the automatic transmission?
Yes and the windshield wiper assembly, just liking my videos
@@ProblemSolverGarage is it possible to contact you somewhere else?
@@ProblemSolverGarage I have so many questions but I can’t put it all in just RUclips comments. Do you have Instagram or Facebook?
Just getting into these Classic BMW M Cars and Just Wondering in Disappointment Why These 6 Cyl Engines From Like Late 80's and 90's Were able to make Over 300HP (From a NA Straight 6!) 340HP From 3.2L for example, (Albeit Euro Versions). But seems like no one Can even Achieve the same Performance from today's 6Cyl's Engines W/O some kind of Forced induction Even with all Our Advanced and Modern technologies!.. I know the Major issues back then was putting all that Power to the ground efficiently with the technology available then.. So that got Me wondering, If that 3.2L engine really Made 340HP (Which is still a lot of Power in My Opinion even in todays standards) that got Me wondering. Since Modern Automatic Transmissions are Almost As good And Arguably Shifts Better than Manuals, Is it possible to Mate say that High Output 340HP NA Straight 6 engine to a Modern 6, 7, or 8 speed Automatic Transmission? I know it sounds wild, but Wondering if it's ever been done or if its even possible... ???
Is it a getrag trans you gonna be using or a ZF?
I don’t know. What’s the difference?
@@ProblemSolverGarage I guess the zf is better and the drive shaft is different
@@mrwarmonga I guess I have no idea, my BMW is a 97 the transmission came out of a 98, same motor 2.8 L.
Lots of people read these comments so if you have any information feel free to add, I think they both fit
Help.. does anyone know? If my automatic transmission delays to shift gears from 1st to 2nd under hard acceleration at 6000 RPM, is that a bad torque converter? The engine revs for 1 or 2 second delay then shifts to 2nd gear causing a jerk and tire spin at times due to the hard shift. Thank you in advance
Sorry not too sure sounds like you have a transmission problem
@@ProblemSolverGarage thanks
Really wish you didn’t skip so much stuff
What do you mean? I skipped nothing.
Watch all the videos in a row.
...so much more... Plastic parts in the e46... Don't buy... Ever..
I like the look of the E 36 more
More classic box look
