In this video I install a single mass flywheel and clutch conversion kit, convert from automatic to manual pedal box, wire in the reverse light switch and clutch switch. I also reassemble the car to complete the conversion. I will upload another video to show how to code the car for the conversion.

Hey love your vids man really helpful. I have an e28 88 528e that I'm planing on manual swapping. I saw that you are working on one for a client. I know it is already a 5spd but if you can go over how to do it ie how to run lines and wiring that would be extremely helpful. I really hope you are this and you could. Thanks
Bro i had a question. I have an 05 6series with auto tranni i want to upgrade the tranni to a smg one i know a few of these models came that way.
My question is. Is it possible for me to do this swap? Do i need extra parts?

The level of explanation on what needs done in all your videos I've watched so far is incredible. Usually people just hack and smash bits off or ignore anything that has to be removed beforehand which starts to add up with something like this. The camera work is great too, nice and focused, good zoom for how big or small the parts are and just generally in the right place all the time.

I have owned my 330Ci for 3 months, and looking at a second E46. Your videos cannot be beaten for instruction and diagnosis on these cars.

as a tool maker machinist, a backyard BMW mechanic and master welder it is easy to figure out the engineering done on a 325ci simply by watching your videos. with a blueprint I can build any part you need.

Hey brother, enjoyed the video. I heard you mention about the cruise control when pushing the clutch, I did my own conversion on my M3 from SMG to 6 speed manual, I resolved this exact issue by fitting a switch to by clutch pedal (grounded one end), this generated a ground signal to the cruise control interrupt pin in the cruise control module once the clutch is engaged. I hope this helps (just look up the cruise control schematic for the module) from memory you need to cut/disconnect pin 5 (light blue) and splice into pin 2 (brown/orange stripe) and put the other end of the switch onto it.
the idea of using that table instead of a transmission jack is brilliant and I wish I have thought of this 2 years ago
Cheers mate. Finally know how I’m going to wire up the reverse light for my 8HP45 swapped e46. Trans Controller outputs a 12V signal so I’ll use that to trip a relay that just bridges a ground connection then connect to the reverse relay.
Got my swap done about a month ago. So far no issues at all and no more SMG pump anxiety. Next project, swap my clutch fan for an electric fan.
My dad's a technician and he said don't swap for electric because the electric wires short easily and then your engine will over heat with clutch fan it will always stay cool natural way

After I did my e46 auto to 5speed conversion I was stuck on the wire below the clutch. Took me week after can't figure out. Now thatI watch this video I can see it clearly how's the wire hook up. Thanks Jason am hook on your channel.

You should do some turbo engine for drifting we use the stock engine and work on it 325 e46 36 I love the way you explain every thing so nice and smooth you are the beast of bmw please teach us how to get horse power turbo and we zig ate bigger block injectors etc.... your explaination on this project will help around 330 ppl following you thank you

Do i need to bypass something on the auto trans harness when doing the swap? Mine is a 2003 325xiT
Currently having an issue with the wiring ive tried everything from wiring as shown in the video and also wiring pin 8 to the purple and yellow wire on the clutch switch to bypass the clutch switch any suggestions? Getting a no crank no start

Hey quick question: I have a flywheel out of a 2002 - 328i would you happen to know if it'll fit in my 2005 - 330i? I'm taking the entire trans set up out of this 2002 328i, just want to make sure it'll fit in my 2005 - 330i. The flywheels online have conflicting info. Any help is appreciated
I have a question for you. So I have a 01 bmw e46 330 ci coupe. I have a 5 speed manual transmission in it, but I want to swap in a 6 speed manual. My question is can I swap in a e46 M3 6 speed tranny and make it work while still keeping the stock engine? Will I need some kind of kit to make it connect and work? Hello and thank you for this video. I have stupid question. If i buy that old design pedals for facelift car (2 separate clutch switches).
Is that all i need for switches in pedals that single 4 pin clutch switch (so it detects both brake pedal + clutch pedal pressing)?
So i throw old 2 switches away from clutch pedal, and replace original automatic car switch (single 4 pin switch), ground, +12v, and 2 signals dme and ews.
And it is ready..

Is it possible to just take all the necessary parts from a manual e36 and just re use them such as the flex plate, pedals, front part of drive shaft etc...
did the automatic drive shaft fit with the manual or do you need to get a DS from a manual car?
Master cylinder? do you have to upgrade to a new one mine doesn't have the slot for the 4 pin clutch switch.

have my manual transmission in the car. car will not crank. your telling me all I need to do is wire in a clutch switch and im good? or could it be the fact that since the tcu isn't reading that the trans is in park because the range selector is gone along with the auto trans. would completing the circuit for the park wire solve this? some input would be sweet. thanks!

What’s your take on non stock clutches, I have heard there is always noise with aftermarket clutches.
So if i am swapping the whole engine and transmission from a manual car into an auto chassis, am i able to just use the dme, ews, and ignition from the manual car and not have to run any extra wires to the dme ? Or anything?
Hello @ShopLifeTV, Your videos are very helpful but I need some help on this one. At 12:36 there are in total 3 holes ! I got confused that you are poking from the hole which is partially visible at the bottom. Can you please tell if these holes also lead to the ground (needed just for camera wiring purposes) ? The wire is going very deep but I can't see it on the otherside to pull it out. Beneath the car at that particular place seems that there's something like a plastic cover with small hole but it doesn't go to the cabin by pushing the wire either.
Hi ShopLifeTV I have a 330ci Manual 6 speed and a 330ci Auto i wanna swap my auto to manual since the body is way better then the manual that i have. i watched all your swap steps question do i need to replace the diff from the Auto i was told the auto Diff make the car rev High.Please help. As far as parts from the Manual since they are same year and same series everything should be working right ?

Is that a limited slip differential? I'm asking because I don't have an LSD and I want to make sure the bold pattern will work with my driveshaft. I am swapping a ZF 5 speed into a 2004 325i. I'm looking at a 2001 330i driveshaft, but don't know if its from an LSD car or not. Thanks.
