Danie, this is the most beautiful thing you've done. Your storage cabinet is stunning. The rug fits perfectly. I am blown away!
That mirror that she thrifted ages ago! It looks like it was made to fit that space. And, of course, the sideboard that she lined with that beautiful paper is so perfect. My little cave apartment on the fjord is dying for some attention, but it lacks any sort of character. All me and my son want this year is redo our bedrooms and we need it so badly. We suffer from a chronic lack of space, having moved a house of 135sqm into 'the cave' of about 72sqm.
@@TheAccidentalViking I'm trying to figure out my space. I moved from a 5000sq foot home to 750sq ft and it has been rough. These diy videos always offer so much inspiration and help me see things in a new way. I'm working on lightening my wall colors to make the rooms look bigger. I currently have dark walls and dark furniture. The space feels like a cave!

@@o0bluemilk0o My bathroom off my bedroom has orchid purple walls and I love them. And even though I feel they are light, and similar to Danie's color, that white really opened up the room. Maybe that would be a good starting point for you?
We inadvertently got a sparkly floor in our hall bathroom because my daughter dropped face glitter on the barely dry painted floor. 2 years later, that glitter still hasn't come off.

I cannot believe this is the same room. Somebody else in the comments said it already, but it genuinely looks like it was always meant to be this way, like it always WAS this way, and like it will BE this way forever because that’s just it’s natural state of being.
It is beautiful, natural, timeless and almost ethereal with the natural light.

I am not a "farmhouse" fan. In fact, I am quite tired of that word. But this bathroom is EVERYTHING. So timeless. It looks like it's been that way for 100 years and will be that way for 100 more. 😍😍😍

WOW! THIS TRULY TURNED OUT ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Every.single.thing. Is perfect!! The wall color is now saved in my phone to use in a room in my home. I now own the home that i grew up in as a child. My nana is 86 and it was to much house for her both space wise and financially so I decided as a single mama of two kiddos moving in and taking over the bills was the smartest decision for me because I would never be able to buy a large house like
I am in on my complete own at this point in my life as I am starting over after leaving my children’s father. So now I Am slowly but surely making over each room in our home and I am obsessed with this gorgeous cream color. It is seriously that perfect shade that goes with absolutely everything!!! I also have to add that when i redid my kiddos bathroom 1.5years ago I put in a 1 piece chair height toilet and it made me go out and buy 2 more for the other bathrooms in my home because the seamless lines makes cleaning AMAZING but the height is perfect specially for my grandmother. It’s much more comfortable. I always wanted to go with just matte black hardware but now after watching your video mixing the soft gold and matte black hardware is BEAUTIFUL and I can’t decide how I want to do it now hahaha!!

A bathroom, to me, needs to be soothing as well as comfortable and functional. I have no idea why, probably because a person's more intimate business is taken care of in the bathroom. You've pulled off the soothing and comfortable amazingly, and the space appears to function well. I'm definitely going to keep this in mind when/if I get a chance to tear into my own bathroom. :-)
Not gonna lie, I got a little overwhelmed with how much better the bathroom walls looked after the purple was gone. Got a little weepy. Beautiful job, as always!

I did a minimal makeover of the principal bath in the older house we recently bought. Painted everything white including the ugly shades of brown "contemporary" backsplash tiles, switched out the crystal door pulls and replaced a towel rack over the tub with rustic shelving similar to yours. Topped (or should I say bottomed?) it off with a boho paisley rug to give the space warmth. Great minds think alike!

They are not mistakes, they are imperfections, and caulk is the perfecter! Because, there is no way you are going to find a 100 old wall to a be square and plumb. In some religions, perfection is associated with the Devine, and since we are human, we cannot create perfection. But caulk gets us closer. I am so inspired by your renovation!

You have incredible vision. When you ripped the floor and then described having them black, I wasn't sure it would look right. But seeing it all come together against the lovely white walls, the floor is beautiful. It really makes the bathroom somewhere I'd love to spend time in.

This is unbelievably, insanely gorgeous and,...you crack me up!! I just subscribed because you are so creative and fun to watch. I recently had to hire someone to re-tile my shower/bath wall (way over my DIY head). I can totally relate to your comments about expensive showrooms. I wandered into a Kohler store and realized I had just stepped into the equivalent of a high-end restaurant. I was so embarrassed to have to tell "Posh Paul" that all of the a-la-cart menu ordering of shower kit parts was waaaay beyond my wallet. I then ran to the nearest Home Depot. Oh, and I just watched your dinosaur creative nook video. I honestly started to cry when I saw the reveal. Such a darling little spot for those boys to dream and play. Their mother was over the moon happy. You are a gem miss Danie! xo

All the really functional parts, the hard work - the vanity, plumbing, and hardware and toilet and wainscoting are great, but it is your finishing touches that really make the space - that beautiful rug, the framed pints, the plants and curtain, the mirror, the shelves and sconces. Beautiful combination. Not sure I like the shower curtain with the rug, but seeing the room from the doorway, everything is stunning! Great job. Love how the black floor anchors the space. Love the work you did on the cabinet with decoupage. I'm so happy for you. As an aside, your best bud Alexandra seems to have rejected towel bars so may have some 'splaining to do to her for choosing one. It looks great.
