Those chairs turned out beautiful 😍 A small tip from a tailor who has also been working in a fabric shop . Don’t store the leftover fo leather folded, role it up in a tube to prevent it from forming creases that you can’t get rid off
OMG how excited was I this morning?! my parents have the exact same chairs, and a sofa too, in their basement that are currently covered in ugly brown plaid upholstery and they have been a part of my DIY dream for a long time. Feeling so inspired to get it done now!! Yay!! awesome job!
Hint: Take photos at each step of disassembling the chair. That becomes a record in order of the steps to take in reverse putting it back together. Works like a charm for me.
I loved them both, but gotta go with the stained w/faux fur. Would love to see more videos like this! Two identical pieces DIY'd in different styles! You rock, Danie!! 💙
Honestly I was thinking ‘oh ya soft and cozy’ right up my alley. Love the faux fur. But the dark and moody chair stole my heart!! 😍 you paired it perfectly with that throw and pillow. Dani truly amazing DIY this week!
I love starting my Saturdays with your positive vibes. I literally just told my husband that I needed to get back by 8 am to see you. I call you my Canadian friend 😁
I really loved the streamlining and modernizing of the first chair. The wood grain - tiger maple stripes - is gorgeous. I’m not a carpenter like you but have done a lot wood finishing and knew that the way the arm looked was something to celebrate. I have a weaving shuttle made from that wood which I bought because I loved the grain. Not a fan of furry furniture but even so, I love the way the chair looks. So glad you painted the chair you left with the big legs. I love natural wood but that chair would have looked just clunky and outdated if it you had stained it. And the leather cushions worked perfectly. I’m crappy at sewing so am not at all critical of the back cushion which, on the chair looks great.
Pulling the fabric over the front and the sides moved that chair into a modern era, genius move! I'm sure you will master the sewing machine in no time. ^^
The rustic cosy is really my favorite. I love how you were abble to see the potential in those chairs. Never I would have imagined they could be modernised like this. Makes me want to try to look differently on thrifted furniture.
Oh my goodness...you did a fantastic job on those chairs. Also you are so funny, the sad montage of your dead charger, the guy speaking a foreign language , hilarious 😂😆 Look forward to seeing you every Saturday. God Bless you and have a great holiday !
My fave was the slimmer arms and legs of the rustic cozy. Good for you, tackling learning to sew! I’ve been sewing since the late 60s, and I still learn new things! Vinyl/faux leather is NOT a beginner project! Your workroom has power tools; mine has five sewing machines, two smaller looms, and two antique-style sock knitting machines. Instead of lumber, I have tons of fabric, yarn, zippers, thread, and hardware (for bag making). I’m always up for learning new things, but since my husband did custom cabinet making for 40+ years, I leave the carpentry to him.
I liked both of them. Cutting the foam on the "fuzzy" chair was genius. I really liked the faux leather chair also. When you started, I kept thinking NOOOO! But they turned out beautiful.
An old electric carving knife is great for cutting upholstery foam. I’ve been reupholstering and making slip covers for my auction and thrift finds for 50+ years. Great fun!
Both chairs came out beautiful!! They definitely have their own personalities. One soft and comfy and the other one ready for anything!! Your creativity astounds me! TFS😊👍
Inch by Inch ,LiFe is a Cinch While Yard by Yard, it's so Very, Very Hard !!.. We All Must Remember it takes a Certain Curiosity & Bravery to Take Things, Apart 😱 and Put Them, Back TOGETHER, To Be Even Better !!... Hats Off ,to those Creativity Genes ‼️
Sewing is such a good skill to have for DIY - things like custom curtains and upholstery are so expensive, but they can be quite simple to make once you know how. Btw sewing clips are much easier to use than pins!
I only learned about clips recently. Especially for fabric like faux leather - pins are the way to go. Highly recommend you take a basic sewing class Danie. Although I taught myself to sew, after a took a basic sewing class, I wished I starting out with a class as they teach you the tips and tricks. Loved your bro and the wood guy cameo.Tiger maple is lovely.
0:25 I like this game: Spoilers!! 1. hair 2. glasses 3. mural, center of orange flower more yellow 4. upper left of mural color change 5. I haven't found the 5th difference! Oh, wow, I found the 5th difference. The wispy, tendrilly flower towards the upper left of the mural has one less tendril in the upper center of it. Tough one, editor!
I especially love the black chair, that dark wax really stepped it up! As a "confident beginner" at sewing, I'd love to see you document your sewing journey!
I cannot believe your patience doing all that sanding and planing. I would have gone straight for a chop saw and then paint. I have no patience for doing things right, lol. This is why your stuff always looks so polished!
You're awesome, Danie🌟 I'm so thankful that you put your quirkiness out there for us to love ... So brave ... Considering how beloved you are, teaches us shy ones that it's worth it💖💖💖
Gosh, wish I could attach photos..I have 5 chairs ($10 ea)..and they are very similiar to your diy! Great minds think alike!! Lol..love yours..and thanks for telling me why the wood looked like tigers!
Great job for the first attempt at sewing cushions! Practice practice practice. You will get much better and faster the more you sew. Also the little sewing clips are much nicer than sharp pins in a lot of projects. If you ever have something you want sew out of fleece fabric this may be super great to learn on as it's very simple to sew fleece. As you keep sewing you're going to gain more tools! :) Personally, when I was in school it was required to take sewing and cooking in eighth grade. I failed sewing! Now many years later I have an entire room dedicated to sewing and two primary machines plus my mom's Singer Featherweight and my grandmother's Singer treadle.
Blown away at your skill BUT ALSO at your hard work!! Girl! You are constantly putting in such incredible effort into everything you do and it shows. Favorite DIYer out there! Keep it up lady!
Such wonderful new life you gave those, ahem, awkward chairs! I was waiting to see the planer in action. My father was a carpenter but his tools were mostly manual. I remember how satisfying it was to watch him use a hand planer on a piece of wood - those lovely spirals made me think of a vegetable peeler, which is as close as I ever get to using a planer! 😉
Love the leather one. My Grandmother had one of these in her bedroom when I was growing up. So it has to be over 60 years old since I am 61 in December. Thanks for sharing your Inspiring work. I was sad that you changed the shape but only because of my awesome memories of my Grandmother. I hate the other ones cushion but that because of my allergies and in the 70's the shag was huge for dust mites which caused my asthma to act up so it not that you didn't nail the 70's style you did. And they are coming back in 2022. So you are Styling Girl.
I can't even chose which chair I like the best because I love BOTH. You did an amazing job Dani. Your DIYs always look of quality and like you got it from a store. I love that.
Chair magician! Remember sewing is just construction with fabric, once you realize that you will conquer the process! I am not a great seamstress but I can make amazing costumes and home decor projects, because I see the structure, not the sewing rules! Blessed and safe days!
Love both chairs, not usually a fur person, but I am now thinking I need a fur chair in my studio. Absolutely love the fur and the style of that chair! Thanks again for the inspo and being you! Till next week.
Omg i don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of any RUclipsr until i saw you sew that pillow! I don’t know how to sew and you literally made me feel like i can do it too lol
Actually not, as One with the Fur Was Fastened to the Framework of the Chair... But Once You Take Something apart and Revamp to Restore it... Each time becomes Easier next time Around... How Inspiring, RiGht 👍 Pretty Amazing 😍❤️ All these Creative Souls on U-Tube Such Auspicious Times We're Sharing !!!!
Yay the hair is back!!! I’ve never enjoyed being booped so much. I feel like kenobi so special. I love the chair remake. I did that with one I got for free. Just remaking it was half the fun. I love SaturDIY with Danie.
Omg Danie, you did it again, those chairs look amazing. I really could not chose one of them, because I love them both. You inspire me limitlessly and I love you for that. Thank you so much, Carmen.
I love the fuzzy one. It’s amazing what it’s possible to do when we have the right tools, when we know how to do it and have the courage to do so. And you have a good taste, you kind of redesigned these chairs making them more modern and cozy. I do really love them both but I have a special thing for the fuzzy one.
Gee, thanks Danie, for giving me flashbacks of that old Ikea Commercial!! Poor thing... I cried for many moons over that poor lamp's sad fate and now THIS! 🙃
So inspiring! I often see super old chairs on Facebook market and was just not brave enough to see I could just trim down all of those funny rounded edges.
I'm definitely teaming rustic cozy, but the dark and leathery chair was lovely as well. I can't wait to see where your new sewing skills take you even if it's a bumpy road at first, I know you'll create beautiful work.
Your first attempt at sewing was great!! I've been sewing for a very long time and I have to say most people's first attempt isn't as good as your. You really should be proud of yourself :)
OK Danny you are truly a creative expression that not only builds amazing and beautiful things but you are also an inspiration for others becoming their true selves , Let it out baby!!! I love STAN , he is obviously a alter self for you lol so awesome to let him come out , I;m a fan. Please let all the other other characters you have within you make their debut as well !!! I'm sure there are many, and I'm super excited to meet them . Keep being your many selves !!!
You slayed this diy!! I’m so stoked about it. I’m team rustic cozy fuzzy white chair! It was a total game changer when you extended the fur down the sides!! Oh I wish it were mine!!
I don't often comment on DIY channels, but Danie, I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Everything about your real-ness is so refreshing and you are so inspiring! We are about to move and I can't wait to get DIYing! Thanks for all the work you do on this channel! Much love!
I've been sewing for 64 years. Among the my many sewing projects, I have a lot of experience sewing fake leather. Congratulations, Danie! You took on one of the most challenging projects for your very first! Yet, you are not discouraged! You have it in you to be a seamstress! Fake leather is slippery and stretching and thick. So, it is much harder to sew than fabric. I suggest that you buy a book on making upholstery, before doing it again. It will teach you how to choose the fabric you need for the project. It will also teach you how to determine what kind of thread and needle you need. That's because every kind of fabric need a specific kind of thread and needle for your project to look its best, no matter what kind of sewing project it is.
holy cow those were amazing! Tip on the cushion you sewed... get some quilt batting and wrap the foam, a few times even.. then put back in the cover. It will take up the excess space. This was such a great idea! I'm inspired. :)
AMAZING……AGAIN! I’m always so amazing watching you create. I wish I had your skills. By the way, I loved that skit. Hilarious! We love everything you do.
You definitely succeeded in giving both chairs a new identity and solidified their future life as beautiful individuals!! Well done Danie 🎶💕 Sincerely, Susan
Amazing I love how you wrapped the fur so so cute . Grab yourself and electric knife to cute threw the foam for your next DIY !!! Oh oh oh what a beautiful home Jeffery’s parent have love it !
Those chairs turned out beautiful 😍
A small tip from a tailor who has also been working in a fabric shop . Don’t store the leftover fo leather folded, role it up in a tube to prevent it from forming creases that you can’t get rid off
Stan looks like Hitler's sister....Love both chairs, your darling house and you, you wild DIYer!
Hello friend. I'm upset with myself because I never seen this one😢..I have now, whoo hoo❣️
OMG how excited was I this morning?! my parents have the exact same chairs, and a sofa too, in their basement that are currently covered in ugly brown plaid upholstery and they have been a part of my DIY dream for a long time. Feeling so inspired to get it done now!! Yay!! awesome job!
If there's banging and sawing from the basement they'll be in for a lovely surprise 😊👍
How fun!
Just when you think you've seen Danie do just about everything, she makes over these two chairs. *chef's kiss*
the battery charging montage lol i loledddd XD
Love the transformation, and the editing was the cherry on top 🤣🤣🤣
How can you not have a million subscribers already? You are the best! Creative inspiring humorous my favorite nerd!!!!
give it time! ♥️ Spread the word! Haha
I keep wondering also!!!
I've been wondering that too! I share her videos with a ton of my friends. She's honestly one of my favorite RUclipsrs.
Nerdiness is off-putting to boring people 😂 we love our purple haired friend 🥰
I completely agree! Love me some DIY Danie! ❤❤❤
Love the DIYs, but especially love the editing! I think this is the best music you’ve ever used in your videos!!!
Honestly I was thinking ‘oh ya soft and cozy’ right up my alley. Love the faux fur.
But the dark and moody chair stole my heart!! 😍 you paired it perfectly with that throw and pillow. Dani truly amazing DIY this week!
I love the chair with the faux fur - I think trimming down the curvy arms was brilliant.
Love the rusticcozy!! Anddddd your personality 💕💕. So much fun to look ad your vids. Thank you

God Bless you and have a great holiday !
I love the cozy fur chair especially styled with the olive green pillow. I think that combo is a winner!!!
Me too! There’s no way I’d ever know it was an upcycled chair. Amazing result!
I could curl up in that cozy, furry chair! Great spot to relax during a cold winter's day with a good book and a hot toddy! Both chairs look great.
Both are gorgeous but the black and leather one just hits the spot for me and now I need one
Oh the wood expert! You have such a quirky sense of humor that is my jam. I laughed out load.🤣 Love your videos.💜💜💜

I was just about to suggest sewing clips! They're a game changer.
I just recently learned about sewing clips too. I got small ones. But they hold so amazingly well!! I want to get bigger ones too.
omg that converted church home is just lovely, I'm so jealous ahaahah! the chairs turned out SO good!
0:25 I like this game: Spoilers!!
1. hair

Now for the next challenge, who was battery pack man?!
I especially love the black chair, that dark wax really stepped it up! As a "confident beginner" at sewing, I'd love to see you document your sewing journey!
I adore the converted church! That is freaking awesome! The chairs look so beautiful! Good work Danie!! 💜
Rustic cozy for sure
I cannot believe your patience doing all that sanding and planing. I would have gone straight for a chop saw and then paint. I have no patience for doing things right, lol. This is why your stuff always looks so polished!
I'm team "Better Together". The chairs both look good on their own, but they look even better styled next to each other.
You're awesome, Danie🌟 I'm so thankful that you put your quirkiness out there for us to love ... So brave ... Considering how beloved you are, teaches us shy ones that it's worth it💖💖💖

Danie, you are a DIY Beast, for sure. Although I love both chairs, my fave would have to be warm leather.
Keep it going DIY Diva.
I’m in the “rustic cozy” corner! I love the faux fur!
Love both chairs, not usually a fur person, but I am now thinking I need a fur chair in my studio. Absolutely love the fur and the style of that chair! Thanks again for the inspo and being you! Till next week.

RUSTIC COZY.. LOVE THE FLOOFS!
These are great! I especially loved the black, and bonus you can more “easily” switch out the cushion covers.

That Finding Nemo edit was just * chef's kiss *
Love how with a few changes to the arms and legs you got different looks. Turned out great 😊
Dani, you are fearless and funny as heck. I can't put anything back together the 1st time either.
Open up a cheap pillow and stuff the cushions until they are filled out. Love Ya! You remind me of my granddaughter - beautiful!
These reimagined AND transformed chairs are amazing! The styling for the brown leather chair is STUNNING! I need it in my room!!!
Gee, thanks Danie, for giving me flashbacks of that old Ikea Commercial!! Poor thing... I cried for many moons over that poor lamp's sad fate and now THIS! 🙃

They are both very beautiful!
I was shouting: put the white fur onto the black chair! But you didn't hear 🤷🏼♀️ Amazing projects Danie, like always! 😍
OK Danny you are truly a creative expression that not only builds amazing and beautiful things but you are also an inspiration for others becoming their true selves , Let it out baby!!! Thank you so much!! 💜
okay, but that converted chruch is an absolute dream house!
Love, love, love the flips! The caramel was the perfect color for the black chair- well done!
Congrats on your sewing accomplishment! If your cushion covers are too big you can just resew your seams in a bit. Both of the chairs are spectacular!
I normally favor stain, but I love the black frame with that faux leather. Gorgeous!
You definitely succeeded in giving both chairs a new identity and solidified their future life as beautiful individuals!! Well done Danie 🎶💕
Sincerely, Susan
Amazing I love how you wrapped the fur so so cute . Grab yourself and electric knife to cute threw the foam for your next DIY !!! Oh oh oh what a beautiful home Jeffery’s parent have love it !
