    This to me is the best Suv in this segment, the best exterior design by far with loads of tech and so much for great value. The Macan the only other rival that gives u the sporty feel is way more expensive and no where as good looking. I'm sold on that infotainment system. Great review, keep up the good job.

    Thanks guys - loved the review. I agree that the graphic screen is awesome......I just wish the salesman had explained to me exactly what it was when i ordered my F-Pace. It was explained as a larger central screen (10.5"), a range of App interactives, and an upgraded sound-system.....so i rejected the $3,500 option. I get the car in a week, & I know I'm gonna regret not ticking that box.
    Lauren - you need to remember that you are driving the top-of-the-line S version, with all of these features as standard.....and a wicked price tag. Many of these features are expensive options in the affordable Portfolio & Prestige models.

    Quite simply the best in its class, and its British!

    At 75K the vehicle should have better interior material and a better center console. Range Rover Velar and the 2020 Evoque has dual screens. I want this car bad but the interior just dosen't sit well with me at this price.

    Taking price out of the equation is one better quality than the other. We test drove the Audi and loved it, so we wanted a seasoned reviewers opinion of the two. Thank you for the swift response!

      +denalikid72 The F pace competes with the Q5 not the Q7, if you need the extra space then purchase the Q7.

    With the high end of the F-Pace being at $75k, Porsche Macan has company.

    I've had my F-Pace just on 12 months now, and I still love driving it. The SC 3.0ltr is awesome, and the wicked exhaust note still excites. My all-black Prestige looks gorgeous, & turns heads - it's easy to feel good driving it. BUT......the old Jaguar bug-bear of quality remains a problem - it's been back to the dealer with several problems already.....not serious problems, but for this price it should be bug-free...(my X5 was!)A few things irk me - the pricing: heated seats, keyless entry, a CD player, & blindspot assist should not be options at this level of motoring. The standard Infotainment system is last-decade technology - my 5 year old X5 was better. I wish I'd known how slow the processor is, and how the touch-screen would frustrate me bcos I'd have paid for the optional Touch Pro package. I hope my review is helpful to a few potential buyers - it's a good car, and a treat to drive, but don't say I didn't warn you about the pricing, features, & quality.

    Jaguar's biggest problem is, actually, making enough of these. This is the best designed and the nicest-driving crossover on the market and Jaguar have done a brilliant job with it.

      You got to be joking. They are selling this platform to Range Rover to build Velar.

    I watched another review of this car, and the reviewer said that it makes this creaky noise coming from the rear. He said that it's the case with every single one he drove, so it's not an isolated issue.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад +1

      +Alex we did not experience any creaky noises, possible the other reviewer has joint issues 😊

    • @chonaV
      @chonaV 8 лет назад +1

      +Lauren Fix Thanks for replying. I really, really like this car. I think it's beautiful. But a creaky noise would be a deal breaker for me, especially for a luxury car. Glad to know that it's not present on every car. Maybe he tested the pre-production ones.

  • @jesseparris6507

    I don't think there will be any problem selling this car. There are a lot of Land Rover owners who are faithful to the British monarchy brand so this will be their new option over the Range Rover or addition to the stable.

    Hey Lauren, which digital gauge cluster looked more feature packed and cooler to you? Audi's virtual cockpit, like in the Q7, or this one?

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад +2

      +FinestInstinct wow! That is a tough call the virtual cockpit on the Audi uses Google maps so it's much more accurate, the Jaguar F Pace has that or you can use the regular mapping system which is not my preference. Both have a really cool systems, both priced well. The Jaguar does offers the Jaguar maintenance plan, Audi does not offer a free maintenance plan. It's a matter of personal choice. Personally, either one in a diesel set up is my choice. The problem is AUDI has a stop sale right now and if you truly want a diesel SUV it'll have to be the Jaguar or another German brand

      Thank you for the detailed reply, Lauren. I'll take it into consideration when looking into both of them. I love technology, so I wanted to hear what your opinion on the subject was. Stay awesome 👍

    Hi Lauren this vehicle is outstanding. We are torn between this and the 2017 Audi Q7! What is your recommendation between the 2 after reviewing and driving both? We are ready to purchase now and your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up the great reviews!

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад

      +denalikid72 Both vehicles have great navigation systems, excellent diesel engines, and plenty of style. I'd suggest you check insurance rates and see who you can get the best price before you make a decision. I'd also take them both for a test drive and see which you prefer driving. You can't go wrong with either vehicle.

  • @Skresla

    Hi Lauren, what is your and your friend's take on those 22-inch wheels vs. the 20-inch ones? They sure look awesome but are they worth the extra money? Same question about the 340hp vs 380hp engines. Thank you.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад +1

      +Skresla I prefer the 22" wheels, better handling and looks awesome. Paul likes the 20" because the ride is softer and they cost less. Tire rack.com has great prices on replacement tires. When it comes to power I don't think there's ever enough of it, however both at 348 HP & 380 HP have great pick up and torque. Remember you buy horsepower but drive Torque.

    Jaguar wanted to improve sales. Homerun!!!🖒 Give this cars design team a medal!!! My only gripe and its a big screw up is all those plastic interior panels👎

    Did you talk about sound and performance? Think I may have missed it. I'm trying to decided on V6 S petrol or diesel so intend to test drive soon but wondered about your thoughts. It's the sound of the petrol that I find attractive over the diesel although fuel economy the diesel is twice as good. thanks

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад

      +AliensHaveArrived we did cover sound and performance, but personally I love the diesel over the gas. Drive both, you can't go wrong either way.

    • @KAMU13
      @KAMU13 8 лет назад +1

      +Lauren Fix What's the gas mileage for the diesel version? Usually diesels have better mileage performance than their gas counterpart.

    • @CarCoachReports
      @CarCoachReports  8 лет назад

      +Kausik Diesel should be about 700 miles to a tank with about 34 mpg

    • @WeAreWatchingU
      @WeAreWatchingU 8 лет назад +1

      +Lauren Fix Finally test drove the Diesel which is really refined, smooth and has great pulling power at the mid range. As I'm looking for something with more grunt and noise, the diesel is just too quiet so I'll go for the petrol (or gas as you yanks say). How many miles on a full tank of gas considering the lower fuel economy? I live in London UK btw so I expect lots of city driving which will not do fuel economy any favours. 😅

      I think Lauren may have gotten some bad intel. According to Jaguar's website, the base MSRP for the 2.0 Turbo Diesel is $40,990 and the 3.0 V6 starts at 42,490. Still excellent value for an SUV of this class. Plus, as Laura hinted at, anyone who pays MSRP for a new car is a sucker.
      However, one of Jaguar's best attributes (or the very worst, depending on your point of view) is the brand's tendency to depreciate rapidly compared to market competitors (along with most British marques, including Range Rover). I recently bought a fully optioned '14 F-Type V8 S Convertible with 6,350 miles on the odometer and paid less than 60% of its original MSRP (the car even has 11 months remaining on its factory bumper-to-bumper warranty). There's no reason to think the F-Pace won't suffer similar depreciation, meaning that in 2 years this will likely be my next vehicle purchase!
