This is one of my favourite megaman games. The wily capsule is... What it is, but aside from that it's so unique and full of detail I'm impressed by some new thing I discover every time I play it. Done in 3 months, but it feels like 12 👌
@@TitanicTitan26 I mean sure, the orb attack is tricky, but it's really not that hard once you get the hang of it. One time I even managed to beat it without taking a single hit.
7 is in rather interesting situation for me. I like it a lot but it's one I don't replay as often because... X1-3 exists on the SNES. Hell toss in Rockman & Forte too. Your critiques are spot on, but after getting used to Megaman's size and speed the game is really solid. Over the years I've grown to appreciate it more since it's so cute & bubbly.
Yeah, there are a lot of mega man games on sness (I think 5 if you count soccer), and they're all pretty different from each other (I think x and x2 are the clossest), so 7 def gets lost in the shuffle. Thanks! :)
MM7 used to get a lot of hate but it is a borderline masterpiece. My only actual small gripe is the speed and size of megaman. Idk why they made him bigger (detail maybe? like final fight sprites). Either way i love this game. The soundtrack is awesome but it is less rock and metal sounding and more cutesy pop sound. They are some catchy ass tunes though. Slash man for sure
When I was younger I loved Mega Man. Then Mega Man X came out and I had a new favorite game. Then X2 became my favorite but I still remember being super hyped for Mega Man 7. I love its presentation and I would call it a 9 out of 10. The soundtrack is truly fantastic. Edit. I was typing this out before the score was given. I couldn't agree more. It has way more good going on in this game. It is one of the most charming Mega Man experiences.
Great video! I grew up in the 80s/90s with the classic NES series (3 is my favourite) and didn't discover MM7 til the Anniversary Collection for Gamecube in 2005. I've always thought it was the very best of the entire series and is criminally overlooked in favor of the MMX games. That said, hate the last boss and no ending is just not right for how sick the opening cutscene is. Cheers from NL, Canada!
7, 4, and World 5 (V for GB) are all tied for my favorite Classic Mega Man game. If I ever make a Mega Man fan game in the future, those three games will be my inspiration from a graphical and gameplay perspective.
Megaman 7 was a very challenging game for sure but I really enjoyed it the design was good alot of things were good about it. Considering how challenging it was I did beat this game but it tested my game skills big time especially the last Wily fight that was the hardest
8 is great. the art style and aesthetic apart from just graphical innovation is better. Look at Mega Man and Bass, which was done in the M8 aesthetic style. It looks way better than 7.
1st it's good to see and hear you again🙂 7 wasn't my favorite first but afterward, I kinda like it. 8 was my completly most hated game beside of duck, duck jump section and also because of the bullet hell Moments😔
@@MeguhFan Not only the shmup sections, also even if you run n shoot, there are too many details in the back- and foreground, where I couldn't say it is just for visual purposes or is that an enemy. This was so annoying and stressfull.

My review Mega Man 7 is a great jump of classic series into a new artstyle. The flow of this game is emanculate. The fact this was made in 3 months is a surprise. In terms of flaws, Some hitboxes are bad, you only start with 4 stages and weapons are mediocre at best. 8.5/10 Edit: Keep in mind I am not accounting story.
It was a re imagine and cool. And it actually had a final boss i struggled with. For weeks. Now i can run it 0 to 2 hits so the replay value is not huge but it looks superb
I love this game. I prefer the weapons you get in MM8, which is much quirkier and weirder, but 7 is better bc it's just pure and perfectly distilled Mega Man. I love the classic designs. The X series is definitely "cooler", but classic Mega Man has such a comforting design, and this SNES entry has really aged well, in ways that the NES ones couldn't. Also, the Super NES could make it so colorful
I have a theory, I think that Mega Man grew in Mega Man 7, because the plot is a bit more mature, even though it’s rated E, Mega Man is older in Mega Man 7 and on.
I actually never completed the last boss (very difficult!). Otherwise I think it does have a unique charm to it. It does stand alone. It's not like the previous games nor the later or the Mega Man X series. Hard to rank but definitely worth checking out!
Ah this one. It's a solid fun entry to the series, but I prefer the X series on SNES over this one. This isn't bad, has some good music and it was fun to use the weapons to find hidden areas, but it felt "off" playing it after playing the X series on the SNES. Mega Man's sprite is big, the enemies are big, and in general that made it feel like it might've been originally designed for a hand held instead of something to be played on a TV to me. That makes it feel "off" to me more than anything else. Having to "thread the needle" to get through so many tight spots feels a lot like playing the Game Boy games where you have big sprites on a tiny screen. I like those too so it's not something I really hold against this one, but it always felt "off" for that given that it's not something I usually feel with playing something on the SNES on a bigger screen.
Makes me sort of wish future Megaman games take cues from 7's approach to using weapons as tool in some cases which is pretty neat. Other than that, it's an overall a pretty solid title once you get used to it (which I too can agree with the size and pacing).
I think this game has some low key metroidvania mechanics. It's not a totally linear game. You can explore quite a bunch to find new items and abilities
It's interesting. Mega Man 7 still looks like Mega Man, but Mega Man 8 looks much more anime in my opinion. I still liked the art style in 8, but I understand why it wasn't as well liked.

I'll make this short unlike my other reviews. Mega Man 7 is probably the worst MEGA MAN GAME. But it is probably not the worst game on it's merrits alone that you mention. Sprite work, graphics inside the levels and all of that stuff, the story and presentation are all really well done and things that matter for being a good video game. But, what makes mega man - MEGA MAN - is the look, feel and control of mega man, and Mega Man 7 does not deliver on that aspect, most of the game feels like a chore with buster and with the weaknesses it's just wait idle animation while the weapon effect wears off. Also the music isn't very good. All of the negative things you said about the game are why it is the worst and not in spite of. The Mega Man X games absolutely blow this out of the water in every single phase of what matters, as well, other than maybe camp humor. It's still like an 8.5/10, though. Being the worst mega man is like getting 100th place out of 849023784238947238942389074849230 other possible entrants. It's still great, but not amazing. Easily worse than 1 or 5 which are the two "worst" ones to this point of your reviews for 1-7.
Interesting opinion. I guess the pace of the game/the feel of the movement/the buster all hit differently depending on how the games presentation resonates the the player. Did you like the adventure/exploration/item shop elements of 7? I'll definitely agree that the worst classic Mega Man game is still better than 99% of other games.
