For emergency Fund RD+FD + savings account is the best way to go, if your emergency fund amount is huge suppose more than 6-7 lacs, then some portion you can park in arbitrage funds as well, where taxes will be same as Equity but returns are stable as liquid debt fund. If your emergency fund is small then taxation won't be that much of an issue then the 1st combination will be the best

Hi, Prasad, I follow 50,30,20 rule, which says that putting 50% of your money toward needs, 30% toward wants, and 20% toward savings, But I have made some changes to this rule. here is what I am doing:- 50 % toward long-term investment. 30 % towards my needs and desires. 20 % towards Saving A/c ( for multiple purposes such as buying home appliances, for further studies, traveling, etc. last but not the least for applying IPOs). 😎
