One great thing about the comic was that it showcased how in canon, while maul was able to beat grievous in a duel, grievous tactically at zanbar dominated maul. Having dynamics like this where it is usually so often just “who is better in a fight” really gives more depth to characters

If there's one thing that's in my top 5 favourite things of Star Wars, its the dynamic between Maul and Kenobi. The crossing of their paths heavily affected their own futures, probably even a bigger domino to fall than the Obi Wan & Anakin dynamic. Maul's future is shaped around his failure to Obi Wan in The Phantom Menace. Maul was the unstoppable force, and Obi Wan just so happened to be the immovable object. Another loss for Grievous, who could have seen that coming... 2003 Grievous will always be the true depiction of this character for me, i mean, the main reason he was downgraded in Episode 3 (and even more so afterwards) is just because George Lucas didn't want him to steal some of Darth Vaders spotlight.
Obi Wan cracking a joke after killing him destroyed his reputation forever.
