Fairly typical XTP performance. I've pushed the 115s to just over 1300fps from a 5" barrel. Performance in clothed gel was...emphatic. Full expansion, with the jacket rolled back over the base of the bullet. I've never pushed the 124s that hard, but at 1150 they work great.
Not too shabby!! They both did pretty well. I’d bet from a 4” the 124s would be great. Another option for everyone to consider. Awesome video as always good sir. 👍🇺🇸
Fantastic performance for such an affordable ammo. At $50 for 100 rounds, you could definitely practice and carry with this ammo no problem. Yeah some other stuff is cheaper to practice with, but being able to practice with your carry ammo is the ideal way to train.
He is not lying. 4" x 5" = .380 Auto 4.5" x 6" = 9x19mm What's the point of a 5" × 7" pistol in 9x19mm? If you are going to carry a big pistol you might as well carry a proportional cartridge.
Nort sure if they meant to, but they gave us a choice - good penetration and great expansion at 115, and adequate expansion paired with tremendous penetration at 124. Currently at 46 and 50 cents per round (115/124). The more you know.
It is a CANIK!! The MC9 is a performer. Great to see the AAC results especially the 115gr. Outstanding. I would like to get my hands on some 115’s. Great performance and test. Thanks for sharing and testing the AAC! Be safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇺🇸
Thanks Tools for testing AAC , i was just in PSA last week and picked up several boxes of it , cant beat the pricese and now you have shown us you cant beat the performance for the money !!!
I'm glad to see this test. I ordered some of each 2 days ago. Another great video keep them coming 👍. Sorry if you have a link i didn't check, but i will next time.
I just ordered some of these since they are so well priced for 100 rounds of 124g jhp. Your testing helped for sure. I love the company and what they stand for. I know federal hst is the best of the best but the overall company and their 2a ideology makes them just that much better. Psa for the win today!
Ordered a 1000 of the AAC 9mm a month ago. Works great and have had no issues. Just received my order of 45 and 556 last week to see how they work. I expect they will run great as well. It is perfect range ammo for prices that are hard to beat. Will definitely order some of these hollow points after seeing this test. If they can just start making 762x39…..Thanks for all you do Tools.
I'm not a fan of XTP's in 9mm but I've been buying a whole bunch of the AAC 9mm range ammo. I snatch up the 147 FMJ's whenever they're in stock. I also like AAC's 110 grain V-Max in 300 Black Out. @ 65 cents per round, I use it for the range and as my home defense ammo.
That's pretty impressive! And you're right - these little compact 9s are really trending in popularity - kudos to doing this review reflecting what's popular with consumers!
Actually current sale trends are suggesting that people are moving away from micro & sub compact 9's. A year ago maybe. Lately your basic compacts have been outselling them & most basic compacts have anywhere from 3.9 - 4.125" barrels.
Is it possible to see a part 2 of this with the Glock 19 or 45 or a different 4” barrel to see if the 124g will open up and act right? Thanks for doing this already and thanks for all you do all the time.
Hands down the best, most real world applicable ammo review channel there is! Not the worst performance I've seen but for now I'll stick with my Hornady CD. Great work as always!
From my perspective, it looks like from the chrono, and opening that AAC used the same powder loads for each projectile. That's why it didn't do as good as advertised, and fully opening up. Great test as always, and thanks for it!
I've shot 500 each of 115 and 124 fmj of a shield plus and springfield echelon.. No issues 100 rounds of 115g xtp threw each pistols no issues with ammo or firearms. I'm not a good shooter but I have put rounds down to make sure the guns and ammo and mags can perform if needed. Aac works well and is budget friendly. And psa is extremely 2a friendly and making bank lol 🤷🏻♂️
Well sir , you've done it again-- changed my way of thinking- kinda--i've always been a bigger is better kinda guy- 5 & 6" etc.. My idea of a little edc , was a 1911 commander 😅 but i took the plunge and grabbed a CANIK- though the elite sc model-- but i am impressed ! Time will tell. Thank you for youre' input & wisdom.
Been running AAC for awhile now both 115 &124 grain and have no complaints and for the price it's fantastic the accuracy is superb out of all my different tools
Already had 1 box of the 124gr. version and I ordered 2 boxes of the 115gr loading a few minutes after watching your video! Thank you, Sir for all your hard work to keep us informed 👍 Truly appreciate you my friend!
I spent 2 bills on Olight's site after watching one of your videos about a month ago. Needed a gift for an event, and ended up scoring a great weapons light / laser and a few other things as well. Glad to support you.
My father and I both ordered off of PSA’s website right as the wu flu was coming out, so I could build him an AR 15. One recommendation I can make to anyone; use a privacy card or a gift card to order as I’ve both heard and witnessed attempted ID theft following ordering. I love PSA, and they may have fixed their payment processing by now, but don’t take any chances. This is great info and I’ll definitely order some of these when I have the chance!
Same thing with strike industries, i ordered some stuff from them on their website and then a $1 charge followed by multiple several hundred dollar purchases. My card is setup for confirmation texts with any purchases and stopped all of it
@@SuspiciousGanymede Exactly. Whoever intercepts the charge info tests each card out with a small purchase and then proceeds to attempt purchasing higher cost items. It's how those scumbags work. It's important to make sure you help elderly family members maintain the same level of vigilance in preventing that kind of fraud. Even malware can pull people's saved credentials off of their web browser.
Tools , the Industry spec for 9mm is measured with a four inch barrel .That was very good velocity with that 115 grain loading from a three inch barrel .
I agree. Showing small concealed type barrel length, low velocity shoud be contrasted to a more normal 4" or so 9mm barrel. I have a 16" 9mm AR-9 style PCC and the AAC 124gr XTP chronographed at 1410 fps. So the round has the potency, the tiny barrel does not. Come on T&T, you have a 4"-5" barrel gun to show at least the velocity in the same video. I do like all of your work, just a suggestion for even better.
Very impressed and super happy with the work you do for us! Both did very well through that barrier material and still expanded well. That 115 from AAC is on my list for next ammo to buy!
appreciate this video! I actually just picked up a few hundred of those 124GR XTP's for training ammo along with a bunch of their normal FMJ bulk stuff. Nice to know they can work in a pinch if my normal go to self defense choice is hard to come by.
I'm really tempted to pick up the 124 grain. I'm looking at a 500 round ammo can for $150 on PSA right now. I'm using a Canik Mete SFT so I'm expecting the same if not better accuracy than the MC9 and definitely more velocity with the longer barrel. So I think it might be the right choice.
Excellent test Tools!!! XTP's are the most accurate hollow points I've ever shot. Taking many deer, hogs, coyotes etc. Not my first choice for self defense but they work great IME when pushed above 1100fps preferably 1200+fps!! AAC Mk262 clone is 🔥💯
XTP accuracy and the AAC cartridge is loaded with enough powder, it was the tiny short barrel. I chronographed the AAC 124gr XTP in a 16" PCC at 1410 fps ! That will expand even at 100 yards.
I really like the XTP. I've hand loaded it for years, and while the 115 performs well at 9x19 velocities the 124 and 147gr tend to overpenetrate due to lack of expansion. Where they really shine is in the fast 9mm cartridges (.357 SIG, 9x23 Winchester, 9x25 Dillon and even hot .38 super). It's an extremely tough bullet that can easily hold together at speeds up to 1600fps and still drives straight and deep. And the higher velocity rounds can get the expansion you just can't get with most other bullets.
The 147s pushed to around 1,275fps from the Sig perform really well in my experience. I've found that pulled and reloaded 135 grain Critical Duty is excellent as well at 1,450fps, about .6" expansion and 100% weight retention in 10% gel. From my 350 legend they both fragment badly though.
I had the opportunity to tour some of the AAC facility on a job interview not long ago, but unfortunately didn't take the job. They are doing great things, expanding quickly, with alot more coming down the line.
I wish you would've tested them with a longer barrel too. I have a Hellcat Pro with a 3.8 inch barrel and a glock 17 and the new Echelon. it would be nice to see what would happen with a longer barrel too
Better than expected, In a compact 9mm, I go with 124gr for S.D. with the exception of Underwood 90gr in +P & +P+, after watching your test on Sig Elite, I picked up a box of 124gr and it claimed 1165 M.V. I'll go back and watch it again. THX 👍🇺🇸
Great video! Thank you. Love ammo videos of all kinds. Ammo tests, this cal vs. that cal, history of...I'm a nerd that way. Haha. I wonder if a compact or full size barrel would have given the 124g a enough velocity to properly open it up? Velocity vs weight. I always thought 124g was a good compromise.
Are the blocks you work with 5 or 6 inches? No matter what, that is some fine shooting being able to put those rounds where you want them on all the different platforms you use!
Great test, as usual, Brother!! You know me, I’m more impressed by the 115 Grain XTP load. You can’t deny that disruption, and I’m always a fan of NOT over-penetration. I’m also still curious to see you test the 350 legend rounds. It seems to be an impressive round - but, I don’t have the ability to get as detailed as you do. Thanks again for all you do to keep us informed!!
I know one thing for sure there 5.56 - 62 gr ammo is awesome my psa upper was almost as clean after 40 rounds as it was when i finished cleaning it the other day !!!
Hey tools what's your honest opinion on the Canik mete mc9 my local gun shop has one that's used but only been fired a few times supposedly lol, but it's a great price and I'm looking for a great carry gun that won't break the bank any feedback I would appreciate
I've been a good bit of AAC 9mm and 5.56 fmj to target shoot with . It's a 20 min drive to the Denver,NC store. Love it. Thanks for testing this. I'm curious if you have tested these or any other hp's out of a carbine. Was wondering if the jacked up velocity makes hp's over expand. Either way i always have a mag packed of hp's for my Ruger PCC.
I actually carry 9mm pistols with at least a 4 inch barrel.. smaller pistols when I have to .. But I carry a 4 inch pistol 80% of the time .. One reason is ammo performance The other is the ability to shoot fast and more accurately with a larger pistol I thank u for your testing
Thanks. I normally ignore brands that haven't been around for a while (Deifant being an exception) but these might be worth picking up. It won't hurt to post the affiliate links. People can either ignore the or use them.
"Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!" I'll tell you what, I'm willing to bet that the 115 would give that 17" penetration or more from a 4" barrel. I believe that's possible because that XTP is only going to open so much and in fact, I think what we saw from the 115 is essentially all those do open up. therefor more juice would probably just drive them further in a case such as this. Now in the 4" I'm willing to bet that the 124 would open more and faster, therefor taming that penetration some. I 'd use either in a 3.4" 26 or 43x and I'd feel just fine doing it too. Thanks for the video!
Looks like I will have to try the AAC Hp's. I've been ordering a lot of the AAC hardballfor range use and it was doing a very good job. Sadly, I just got in a new batch an it is terrible! I shoot a lot of ported guns and as we all know, plated bullets are a no-no in ported bbl's. The AAC of the past was always thick full metal jackets. Unfortunately, this batch I just received is plated very thinly hardball. That and it is one of the dirtiest factory rounds I've ever shot. The gun after 40 rounds was a mess. (1911 9mm commander). All the AAC I've shoot for the last couple of years has been relatively clean. Apparently they have changed the product substantially. I wrote them asking about the change a couple of days ago and have not yet rec'd an answer. Hopefully they will replay. As is, the latest shipment is useless to me. KnifeMaker
I've got several hundred rounds of the AAC 115gr XTP rounds and I've found them to be very reliable and accurate in my EDC pistols. I very seldom shoot anything over a 115 gr as the 23 gr rounds need the longer barrel.
I have not seen shelves in Minnesota, only online. I'll compare with my other favorites next time I see them. Definitely at the right price these would be worth having. I'd bet my new 5.75" Canik Mete Pro would sling those 124's to 1150 ft\sec or more. The 115's would probably break apart of dialed up too much faster. I'd bet you'd see that result from your 5.2" Mete. A test for another day?
I've been impressed with the aac stuff from PSA just got a bunch of 45 from them. Good range ammo. Always consistent and loaded well. Speaking of the xtps they definitely favor velocity, I hand load the 90gr ones to max, they are spicy for sure lol but you know 90gr is really screaming fast. Good video as always!
I'm gonna have to get some of this stuff. 115gr for the compacts, 124gr for the full sized guns? 115gr for the 365XL. I also got a G3 with the 124gr's name on it.
The XTP projectiles are okay I only get them if they are +p and on sale for my handgun, now in my Ruger carbine it's a little different story the pedals peel all the way to the base of the projectile to .50 .55. I have some Hornady American Gunner XTP +p 124gr 1175fps they will definitely get the job done and at $20 for a 25 round box you can't beat it with a stick.
Let us know if you try that 124 out of something with more barrel like a PCC that might get it done? I absolutely love AAC and PSA they put a lot out and stand behind there stuff.
I like the precision one XTPs! I’ve had good performance from the ones I have. 124 gr 9mm and 90 gr +p 380.I also have 115 Fiocchi. Heavy clothing deer ribs gallon jugs of jello. Expansion and deep penetration! I also have HST 124 gr + p and 124 gr Fiocchi Defense Dynamics. In my redneck test the XTPs hold their own! Love to see you testing all the different brands! You can get great deals on these IAAC. I tried to stockpile as much as I can. Thanks again 👍🏻
Would you be willing to revisit this test with these same offerings just in a 4" - 4.5" barrel? Thank You & have a good one brother see you on the next one.
When the mood strikes me to carry a 9mm, I will carry exclusively 115 grain bullets in my smaller guns and 124 grains in my bigger gun. I am surprised the XTP expanded as well as it did in the short barrel. The XTP rounds usually do awesome in magnum revolvers.
A 3" barrel isn't going to get the job done, unless the ammo is designed for short barrels. There is almost a 100 fps difference between the listed velocity of the 124 gr. rounds and your tested velocity. I can't see where a 1" difference of barrel travel will give you 100 fps, but it could account for 70 to 80 fps. I am definitely not a fan of short or micro barrels. Most 9mm cartridges are designed for 4" barrels and a few, though not many, are designed for 5" barrels. I may be wrong, and please let me know if I am, but I believe the only 9mm bullets which can consistently deliver decent expansion at low velocities Hydra-Shoks and the HSTs. I wouldn't put my life on the line with a short barrel where the bullet design is for higher velocities than the short barrel can deliver.
Great video boss man I got some good 124xtp loads i want to send u test theyre going 1250 out of my g17 and 1210 out of my gx4 it should be interesting
Try the IWI Masada Slim..it's been my concealed carry for the last 6 months..it's amazing and shot 17 different brands and types of ammo and not one malfunction..Best trigger out of any micro that I've shot. It's a hair bigger than the P365X but it has 13+1 with the flush mags.
Just stumbled across this channel. This content is perfect. Facts, no bs, no sales pitch. I love it, thanks
You have the best commentary on gel block shots. It's part of what keeps me coming back.
Appreciate that!😎👊
Fairly typical XTP performance. I've pushed the 115s to just over 1300fps from a 5" barrel. Performance in clothed gel was...emphatic. Full expansion, with the jacket rolled back over the base of the bullet. I've never pushed the 124s that hard, but at 1150 they work great.

He is not lying.
4" x 5" = .380 Auto
4.5" x 6" = 9x19mm
What's the point of a 5" × 7" pistol in 9x19mm? If you are going to carry a big pistol you might as well carry a proportional cartridge.
I've been super impressed by the AAC line of ammunition. And as always, thanks for the share!!

I see them as an excellent stockpiling round for defense ammo if you can get them cheap, but my first choice is still always going to be HSTs
Choices are always good.😎👍
115 is my preferred grain for carry. It’s what I use at the range almost exclusively.
My rule is 124 for full sized, 115 for compacts. Of course, scale accordingly per caliber. Gotta get that speed if ya want em to open up!
Hard to go wrong.😎👍
Not bad at all. AAC is doing a good job for us and I think they will only get better. Awesome job on the test.

I believe some, if not all, ammunition manufacturers measure velocity at the muzzle. I also have a Canik mc9, and I love it. Thanks for your testing.
There is no question their advertised velocity is at the muzzle. The unknown for most of them, if not listed, is the test barrel length.
Decently done for both. Regardless of their 9mm performance with AAC’s prices on defensive 5.56 and 300blk ammo they are getting my stamp of approval.
Great video. Never heard dog AAC but definitely going to order a box of these in 115 grain. Love the channel no politics and no bullshit. Keep it up!!

I know when I watch your Chanel I'll be well entertained & well informed!
Appreciate that!😎👊
Another great 9mm jelly test. The 115 would be my preference but I liked the performance out of both. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
THX 👍🇺🇸
This stuff surprised me. They knew to load it fast enough.😎👍
Thank you sir. Really appreciate that. Might need a follow up test on that.😎👍
Got 2 boxes of the 115 coming today. With a AR and a DB9 gen 4 and 500 rounds of 556.
Good test Tools. Love PSA, glad they produce with these hp’s. Been shooting the fmjs for a while now and had good success with them.
Thank you sir.😎👍
Are the blocks you work with 5 or 6 inches? No matter what, that is some fine shooting being able to put those rounds where you want them on all the different platforms you use!
6x6. It does get tricky sometimes with so many different guns having so many different poi's. 😆
👍👍great job on the test, looks like some pretty decent ammo.
Thank you sir.😎👍
Tons better than the Sierra Outdoors 9MM ammo. Patiently waiting for the PMC .223 SP test.
Yes indeed. Gonna try to get that done this coming week.😎👍
😎👊
Thanks for all of the great videos. They really help in choosing ammo.
Appreciate you checking them out!😎👊
I know one thing for sure there 5.56 - 62 gr ammo is awesome my psa upper was almost as clean after 40 rounds as it was when i finished cleaning it the other day !!!
Thanks for the short barrel!
Hey tools what's your honest opinion on the Canik mete mc9 my local gun shop has one that's used but only been fired a few times supposedly lol, but it's a great price and I'm looking for a great carry gun that won't break the bank any feedback I would appreciate
Great review T&T. I am impressed with these results - especially considering the fair pricing on the PSA/AAC ammo,
Thank you sir.
Thanks for using the short barrel! As always, great work
Thank you sir.
Brother, 20MPH wind is considered calm here in East River South Dakota...love the videos!
Thank you sir. You can have that stuff!😆😆😆
I actually carry 9mm pistols with at least a 4 inch barrel.. smaller pistols when I have to .. But I carry a 4 inch pistol 80% of the time ..
One reason is ammo performance
The other is the ability to shoot fast and more accurately with a larger pistol
I thank u for your testing
Thanks for the review. Always good to see ammo that works.
Yep.😎👍
Thanks. I normally ignore brands that haven't been around for a while (Deifant being an exception) but these might be worth picking up. It won't hurt to post the affiliate links. People can either ignore the or use them.
😎👍
Love it Tools! Keep up the killer work Sir
Appreciate that!😎👊
😂🤣 Only thing crazy on that range is you Tools😁😋
He's that T&T contraption.
🤪🤪🤪
Damn , quality channel you got. Much appreciated !
Thank you sir.😎👍
😎👊
Thanks Tools I was wondering about AACC. Great video
Thank you sir.😎👍
Nice! Will definitely check out PSA and AAC ! Thanks T&T 😊
😎👊
KnifeMaker
Interesting 🤔
I'd definitely feel confident carrying these in my 5.2 inch Canik. I'd bet they would do great in a duty size tool if they did this good in the Mete.
Might have to do a long barrel version.😎👍
@Tools&Targets I'd really like to see that, buddy.
Good ammo AAC, good test and video. That 124 would be great out of a carbine.
Thank you sir.😎👍
Nice performance from all ! The more i see of Canik mete mc9 the more i like but haven't found in the wild...yet !
It's a winner.😎👍
I've got several hundred rounds of the AAC 115gr XTP rounds and I've found them to be very reliable and accurate in my EDC pistols. I very seldom shoot anything over a 115 gr as the 23 gr rounds need the longer barrel.
THANKS
I have not seen shelves in Minnesota, only online. I'll compare with my other favorites next time I see them. Definitely at the right price these would be worth having. I'd bet my new 5.75" Canik Mete Pro would sling those 124's to 1150 ft\sec or more. The 115's would probably break apart of dialed up too much faster. I'd bet you'd see that result from your 5.2" Mete. A test for another day?
Might need to do that.😎👍
Hey tools can you redo this with a PCC and a 4.5 in barrel like a g19 or something?
I've been impressed with the aac stuff from PSA just got a bunch of 45 from them. Good range ammo. Always consistent and loaded well. Speaking of the xtps they definitely favor velocity, I hand load the 90gr ones to max, they are spicy for sure lol but you know 90gr is really screaming fast. Good video as always!
Appreciate that.😎👍
Send some of your hand loads in if he's willing to test em 😎 it would be interesting to see
@@countryguywithcamera I didn't even think about that, that might be fun for sure lol.
@@ToolsandTargets you wanna test some handloads?
@@DIYDad1 I've got I need to send to the buffman channel he does a lot of armor testing
AAC makes some good freedom seeds and I'm a big fan of PSA and their line of great tools. Awesome test results brother tools.
Thank you again, my friend! Glad to see these do well.😎👍
Let us know if you try that 124 out of something with more barrel like a PCC that might get it done? I absolutely love AAC and PSA they put a lot out and stand behind there stuff.
I'll have to do that.😎👍
AAC continues to impress. Good performance, thanks for the video Tools!
😎👊
I like the precision one XTPs! I’ve had good performance from the ones I have. 124 gr 9mm and 90 gr +p 380.I also have 115 Fiocchi. Heavy clothing deer ribs gallon jugs of jello. Expansion and deep penetration! I also have HST 124 gr + p and 124 gr Fiocchi Defense Dynamics. In my redneck test the XTPs hold their own! Love to see you testing all the different brands! You can get great deals on these IAAC. I tried to stockpile as much as I can. Thanks again 👍🏻
😎👊
Good test Tools did better than I thought good video.
Surprised me.😎👍
Would you be willing to revisit this test with these same offerings just in a 4" - 4.5" barrel? Thank You & have a good one brother see you on the next one.
I have plenty still so may as well.😎👍
Speaking of PSAs, thanks for testing these out for us!
😎👊
😎👊
Great video boss man I got some good 124xtp loads i want to send u test theyre going 1250 out of my g17 and 1210 out of my gx4 it should be interesting
Try the IWI Masada Slim..it's been my concealed carry for the last 6 months..it's amazing and shot 17 different brands and types of ammo and not one malfunction..Best trigger out of any micro that I've shot. It's a hair bigger than the P365X but it has 13+1 with the flush mags.
This Canik has filled my need for a new edc. Fantastic pistol.😎👍
They both performed good another great jelly test Tools Stay Safe Stay 2A Strong 🇺🇸
Appreciate that, my friend!😎👊
