They are quoted as making no bones about sounding like Tool, since that is a huge influence on them. "While we wait for Tool's next album, why not play music we like". There are not many bands that have really tried to incorporate the Tool sound as well as these guys have. But underneath it all if you listen to Moving Backwards, they've got their own thing going on.

Whoever EQ'd them should be fired. Vocals are too loud, guitars and bass are too silent, and and something is fucked with the drums. They definitely deserve a better sound guy.
It probably sounded fine in the crowd, it's the recording levels that are no good

I am comfortable with Tool passing the torch to these guys. They're already great, but give them another album or so and they're really going to hone their sound. I've been listening to Resident Human almost non-stop since it came out.

Please. They need to continue. The "sound" from "Wheel", it's so fucking perfect, it has everything i need from a band like this, if they continue that style omg, they'll be one of my top10. The last Tool album wasn't what i was waiting for :(

I've only got onto these boys in the last 2 weeks but I can tell ya, they've been my find of the year.
Amazing musical sense from all of them. I have a good feeling that this band will do great things.

Another good one I just got onto in the last couple weeks that have blown me away is To Whom It May. If you've never checked em out, you def won't be disappointed if you like these guys!

I honestly didn't like the album the first time I heard it. But that's when it came out. Here in 2020 after months of sitting there it's grown a lot on me. It also helps relating to the lyrics hahaha

Phenomal band! They're one of those groups where I've instantly warmed to them, just in time too considering there's some new gear on its way.

Yea - saw them in Camden last week and it was pretty epic. The bass drum sounds like war drums live.
Been listening to these guys for a bout 2 years now. Heard Please on my spotify discover playlist and have been hooked ever since.

It's a seated audience what the hell do you expect? Not an uncommon thing for an audience to be pretty "stationary" in a prog show anyway.

James is a visionary. I may be talking out of place here as I'm just going by what I've read and how the songs on moving backwards touched me...
Seems he had his idea of music and how he wished to express his views which wasn't accepted entirely in the UK so he had the balls to leave everything and find a place his idea could become reality. Wheel are nothing short of superb in my eyes. I'm a musician myself... If you want comfort and stability I would tell you to study law. James. Respect and love brother. Your an inspiration. Well done.
This band is good and if they hold it together will be pretty well known in all the right circles

personally i love bands that sound like other bands, it's like a new perspective of the argument that the main band try to explain with its sound... dont know how to explain it.

You're a lucky dude! I'm now listening to them only since late 2020 and can't believe there's still not the listeners that I would expect to see from a band that is making such amazing innovative progressive metal like this. I have a friend that has been been listening to all types of metal/rock for 30 years as well and when I told him about Wheel he said "yeah I'm not really into that off beat tempo stuff anymore" ...so maybe that's a reason? I dunno but not for me as it's part of the reason I think it's so amazing. I'm so hoping the make it and keep producing music like this.
Apparently they gonna play again in Warsaw next March, I was so happy to see that :) Going to this concert just for them.

Die Kapuzen müssten aber nicht sein. Das machen inzwischen doch schon etliche andere Bands so oder so ähnlich (Mgla zum Beispiel). Ansonsten ein gutes Konzert. When der Sänger aller dings so Schreit und sich seine Dtimme so leicht krazig anhört - finde ich - passt es irgendwie nicht zum Sound. Das könnte er sich sparen. Muss mir mal das neue Album in Ruhe anhören. Soll ja ganz gut sein, laut eclipsed Magazin...

Tool, Tool, Tool... I can`t read it anymore... This is Wheel. They make Progressive Metal. Every Band in this genre sounds a bit like Tool. Haken`s "Virus"-Album also sounds (a bit) like Tool but nobody mentioned. But if they talk about Wheel, they always make that comparison. Stop that bullshit and go on listening to Tool hipsters.
