It is a sturdy pedal combo with a great range of tones. You can also overwrite any presets with your own. My only issue is the it is a pain to stomp the switches up or down in order to scroll through the stored presets. Pity they didn't design it so you just used a keyboard (or a remote control) to type in two digits.
I've had the pocket pod for about 10 years, I'm hoping this has all the same modelling algorithms. I don't drive so the portability is a pleasure if you want to invade an open mic night and get your sound straight into the desk without borrowing an unfamiliar stage amp. The pocket pod doesn't have foot switches for Nirvana style play though, and I'm not keen on driving it with a distortion pedal
If it doesn't have all the effects of the Pocket Pod, I'd be confident it would have 90% of them. Plus pedal wah. It's a great sound, equal in quality to the surprising Pocket Pod :) GF
I just picked up a used Floor Pod and appreciate seeing your video. Question; whats the difference between the Red and Green lights on the Amp Models? The manual doesn't mention it.
Bro I'm just trying to figure out how to use the built in tuner. Ive got lights flashing and changing everywhere and every note i play seems to be B flat no matter what.
A little update. I found out the floor pod was working fine when I plugged in a better guitar. The beat up Peavey I was using just has a lot of wiring or pickup issues, probably both.
Thanks for the 2 videos on the Floor Pod. I bought mine about 8 years ago and use it at home for both guitar and bass. I've recently started playing bass in a band and run it directly into the board. My presets sound great when recording but are not translating live like I would hope for. Do you have any recommendations for getting the best sound that cuts through without being muddy. Thanks.
Hmm, always a constant issue, this one. There are many variables. Equalisation is the big one of course, then there's the speaker quality, or maybe the Floor POD just isn't right for your bass, or maybe the venue has bad acoustics (try listening to someone playing your bass from various different areas within the venue) ....sooo many variables, and no easy answers.... sorry my friend, if I think of anything specific I'll get in touch :) Gearfacts
I have a tube amp and was thinking about purchasing this effects pedal instead of buying a bunch of individual pedals. I have a question with the bypass footswitch on this pedal - does this bypass the pedal's amp modeling and effects so that I can just hear the clean tones of my tube amp? I know you mentioned this momentarily around the 3:20 mark, but I just wanted to make sure before i purchase this. Thanks in advance! 😁
Yes the bypass will send the signal of your guitar straight through as if the POD wasn't there. It's not true bypass though, and some guitarists say that this 'colors' the signal slightly. Not a concern for me, but thought i should mention it :) Gearfacts
Long time since I had this one, but I remember it was something a bit weird. Like 10v AC or something. I'm sure you could find out on the net. Search for pics of the rear, there might be some info there :)
Dude - thanks for this! I have a Line 6 Spider IV 75. It is great but I miss using my looper for longer patches. I also have an EH B3 organ master which I miss using. SO I got myself a Marshal Valvestate 8080 and it sings in clean, but the crunch is maybe a bit too 80s blues. Getting ojne of these to destroy other pedal needs and at the same time keep using the EH and the looper up front. SHould be fun. When did they stop producing it?
King Alex Drums time certainly flies when you look at guitar pedal history. These ones still feel reasonably new to me but they started production about 10 years and these things never run for more than two or three years. It's a great pedal for sure, but having said that, please watch out for an upcoming video about how far we have NOT come in guitar ped technology over the last 25 years :) Gearfacts
So true Mr Gearfacts! But you know the whole pedal thing - kills me and my pocket. I really do not understand why so many 'dis' Line 6. They make some amazing gear. I play with my son and the occasional gig. The Spider IV 75 is fantastic. The only thing with the Line 6 amp with pod technology built in is that you continually have to reprogramme volume for every situation = frustrating. Otherwise it speaks for itself. I am a practical player. I want 3 key sounds Clean, slight crunch and good lead with a wah on the side. All the other stuff is fun but am I going to use it. The knack is in your fingers at the end of the day....... Popping this on downstream of the looper will kick some serious ass!! You have some great vids!
hi. i have this pedalboard since two month ago and its really great but recently started thinking about combining with a hi gain pedal and use a clean amp modeling do you thing there is a good idea? Would you lose the sound quality?
Hi Jorgelina. I think your idea is definitely worth trying, and I predict that you will indeed get better tone. The trick would be to balance the output of your pedal with the input of the Line 6. That would require some experimenting. Let us know how it goes :) Gearfacts
I'm sorry but I don't have this pedal anymore so I can't show you anything else. I might get one again soon though, and I'll make another video then :) #gearfacts
I have this unit, and in case you're still looking for the answer, I have to mention one thing from the video: holding down the third pedal doesn't bypass (quick press for bypass), but switches it into a mode that lets you use the three pedals as switches to turn effects on/off. So the dist pedal is for a gain boost, and the mod pedal is for the modulation section. The third is for the delay/reverb section.
I don't remember but the answer should be here: www.google.com/search?q=line+6+floor+pod+factory+rest&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBAU915AU915&oq=line+6+floor+pod+factory+rest&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30l2.6836j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The reds and greens are just alternatives within the same category. In other words, every type of amp effects has two variations.

Does anyone have a problem with the floor pod making a popping noise when changing modes ???it shuts off and starts popping
Is there any way to get a whammy sound?
No I don't think pitch can be assigned to the expression pedal on this unit. I'm open to be corrected, but I don't think so.
Where is the overdrive ?
how do you adjust the wah volume?
Hmm I'm not sure if you can even do that. You can access the full manual by searching for "line 6 floor pod pdf" Gearfacts
