You have more processing than a real radio station. I built a similar setup years ago. When a compressor wasn't enough, I went out and bought more gear. This went on for a short time as I ran out of fundage. Turns out I didn't know how to set any of it up properly. This was all for my own personal escape I guess. You on the other hand have a lot more invested than I ever did and way better gear. I have to know, do you have many listeners and do you get much use of the extra mic's with guest?
SpeakerFreak95 - from the console it goes in this order: 1st to the EQ then dbx 166xl (gate at low level creates silence if signal is below -50 db and limiter kicks in above +20 db) and then to Behringer 9024 which is main processor. I sometime have the signal go to the Aphex after this but that would be redundant in theory so usually the Aphex is not in the chain at all. From there it goes to the distribution amp and then a pair of channels from the distribution amp to the transmitter.
Humberto, good afternoon, I want to know how I can get a complete equipment like the one you have in your home radio station, whether it's new or second, I have the project to mount a similar one to yours with output of 300 watts stereo but here In colombia, the teams are very expensive. Thank you. For your invaluable help ....
Hi Gustavo, Virtually everything in my studio is used. I think the CD player and Turntable are the only things not used. One very interesting site which may give you good information about options is pcs-electronics.com. They have a lot more knowledge than I do and I think they sell pretty much everything. Good luck with your project!
Humberto, hey bud. I forgot to ask, do you have a video with off the air audio direct fed into the video? If you do and I missed it, accept my apologies and may I request you point me to the video?
lz2k7, That's a tough one, especially since the 9024 is pretty old and a lot has happened between them and now. Additionally, I'm no expert but I have heard good things about BW Broadcast DSPs, and Orban Optimods are pretty much an industry standard and have been releasing models pretty consistently. TC Electronics also has some stuff that is pretty affordable. Or you could go anything PC/Mac based, of which I know nothing other than they exist. All that said, I'm sure there are other better informed opinions out there from other channel subscribers.
Hey Humberto, I also meant to tell you that the Arrakis New Wave automation software is great. I just got mine in with my Arrakis Arc-8 Bluetooth console. Contact Ben at Arrakis in Colorado for prices. Thx Robert T
Good work mate. That spare rack space is where you can throw the optimod fm8700i. You need to get that bad boy in there. What a brilliant set up 👍👍 📻
This very beautiful consoleta I would like to have
Rankin Full Stop!

Could you tell me your signal chain order of components from the output of your console to transmitter?

What'd be a newer alternative to the Behringer DSP 9024?
