Gregg was one of the best blues singers there ever was, IMO. White or black. Don't care. He was one of the best. Even as young as he was when they started. The man had a blues voice like I ain't never heard. Its amazing to me that you can listen to them from the 70s and they sound sooooooooo much better than 90% of singers today. People today don't even, sound like they do on the album. But not ABB. They ALWAYS was on point. *ALWAYS.* Even in 1971. TBH, Duane is probabky my biggest inspiration to learn to play guitar. I've had my Strat for 2 weeks now and been learning every single day. 👍

I love this song since it came out on the live version at Filmore East in 1970 i was just 8 years old .. i come from a family of 8 kids .. i am number 7 .. second to youngest .. and our house was full of music and musicians , so much great music came out back then .. loved this reaction i love Chris he is incredible and lots of credit to the band here .. as smooth as this song is .. it still has tons of energy and dynamics musically , they brought it! Chris Stapleton was in a band called The Steeldrivers until 2010. It’s Bluegrass. He did two albums with them. You need to see the live version, available on RUclips, of the song ‘Blue Side of the Mountain’ from 2008.
Chris Stapleton is one of the best artists in country these days. Now, you need to check out some Sturgill Simpson or Whitey Morgan And The 78's. Oh, and Larkin Poe, who are more blues than country but are totally rad. They even got nominated for a blues Grammy this year, even if they didn't win.

Love the song Blow by Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars. Blew my mind when I heard Chris after that, a country boy doing THAT song?? Liking this version, and I like artists that aren't stuck in one genre.
Not only did the "Country Boy" do that song, he most likely wrote it. Check out one of Chris's first bands the Jompson Brothers and that song fits in perfectly with what they were doing.

Chris Stapleton was in a band called The Steeldrivers until 2010. It’s Bluegrass. He did two albums with them. You need to see the live version, available on RUclips, of the song ‘Blue Side of the Mountain’ from 2008.

Chris Stapleton is one of the best artists in country these days.
Now, you need to check out some Sturgill Simpson or Whitey Morgan And The 78's. Oh, and Larkin Poe, who are more blues than country but are totally rad. They even got nominated for a blues Grammy this year, even if they didn't win.
I just saw Chris last week in concert - so darn good! His band, his wife, Morgane up on stage with him singing harmony, all were excellent!
There have been great singers throughout time. But, then Chris comes along to remind you what "sangin' " is all about. Cuts you to the core!

I love what Chris does, and he has led my search, I've found a bunch of super super talented young people and older at all different genres of music: Michael Burk (Empty Promises) Christone Kingfish Ingram, Marcus King Band, Eric Gales, Johnny Flynn(theme song for Detectorists) Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, Matt Andersen (you absolutely have to check out his cover of "Aint No Sunshine") I put Matt Andersen up with Stapleton form that cover alone!
