I’ve said this before, now I’ll say it here. Even with the Country label around his neck, to me, Chris Stapleton is a dyed in the wool 100% Blues Singer! Yes there’s soul, yes there’s rhythm, but at his core, his essence, he is a Bluesman no doubt about it! Just my thoughts ladies and gentlemen just my thoughts.

The absolute majesty of Chris Stapleton"s voice, there are singers and then there are vocalists who have the ability to touch your soul and their voices remain with you for a lifetime.
Chris has such a soulful voice, reminds me of the AMAZING Ray Charles , You feel everything in this song. Chris your “‘sugar “‘as my grandaddy would say. He was a southern gentleman as is Chris . We live up in New York and I know class when I see it ( thank God my parents raised us that way ) . 🔥🎸🙏❤️

Love you Jamel Love watching you and your reaction videos. You can tell how much love you have in your heart for your wife your brothers your family. Your such a great kind loving soul Thanks for being you Jamel. 💕
Chris Stapleton has so much soul, blues & pain in his songs. Since I know he has a loving wife, 5 kids...I wonder where his inspiration comes from to be able to sing about painful relationships??
Chris Stapleton is one of those rare human beings who is an empath. He’s able to pick up and absorb the emotions of people around him and feel what they’re feeling. That he’s able to translate those emotions into music is truly a once in a generation phenomenon.
Everyone: Chris has so much soul in his voice. Chris: Wait til I do an actual 70’s-inspired soul song. Those of us of a certain demographic recognize it- the Philly sound, reimagined. This is Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and the O’Jays, and the Love Unlimited Orchestra... with a dash of Clapton. Brilliant!
@@m.vondrake5534 Country and Western are two different types of music. Ray Charles recorded a few Country songs but he never really did any Western music that I know of.
Hadn't heard this one yet, damn... He needs to do a full album of covers of the greatest R&B, rock and country belters . Imagine him doing A Song For You... I'd buy that .
I too would buy that record. This man could put out an album of every musical genre ever created & I would want 'em all. I know he would get tired of covers, though.
Personally, I believe the good Lord looked around in the heavenly gardens and had an epiphany.....Mmh, there's George Jones, Sam Cooke, and B. B. King. BOOM!!!CHRIS STAPELTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Country music was never my thing, though I thoroughly enjoyed the outlaw wing of the genre. But that was a long time ago and, with a few exceptions, country was as lost as pop music - vapid and formulaic. But Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell are making some unbelievable music, reviving something that had died long ago.
Bro, this is the best reaction to any song I have ever seen! I truly think this song will be number one on every genre radio station....SOUL, R&B, Country, and Pop! His musical talent knows no boundaries!!! Love your reactions Jamal!
Dude, I had exactly the same thought about his wife. I felt the pain so strong in those lyrics I was sure she must have left him! This is full on convincing emotion. Brilliant.
He didn't really start out Country, although he's written for a bunch of country artists. Steeldriver's were bluegrass, Jompson Bros was Southern Rock, he really can't be pigeonholed in anyone one genre. He's always been more blues and soul, than anything else.
Wow, I had not heard this song before. Beautiful. Chris , once more you killed it . Thank you, I just love you and Morgane. You know, this may be my favorite Chris song yet.....damn Chris, Down and dirty....
That's perfect heartfelt poetry! Pain resonates like chills down your spine. The symphony wailing his emotions behind his guitar and his voice cuts right into your heart! He even got his guitar in tears, feeling his pain. Breakups are never easy, especially when one has more love than the other. The emotion in his voice exhausted me. Brought me back in time. I am a 72 year old white lady, I know exactly what he is singing about, been there, more than once.
I pre-ordered this album!! I can’t wait for November!! His voice is so phenomenal that you forget that he is an equally good guitarist. You can even feel all the feels when he hits that guitar solo!
Great you're doing this song Jamel! My favourite DJ Rob Stenders here in the Netherlands is plugging this record like a Maniac! And my mother of 80 years old turned the volume on the radio wayyy up when she heard this song last week ;-)

Like many southern people (myself included) he's definitely country/southern rock/ R&B mixed together. It's just people hear country and expect a steel guitar, crying in their beer. It's not always the case.
There is a difference? Where do you think the blues came from? Every listened to Hank Williams sing "Your Cheating Heart". People used to call it "music to take your heart out and stomp on it."
He's this generation's Willie Nelson. People hear three songs on the radio and think they know a person's catalogue. Just like Willie has done it all, Chris can also do it all, and does. He can do it all from bluegrass to blues to RnB to jazz to country to rock. He's just that guy. People like labels, probably because most artists are fairly limited and excel in one type of music.
